Please don't use GP10 physics.  :-X

you do not like the gp10 ?
Title: Re: DUCATI GP9

Personally, no.

The EB at 0 is like a Reverse gear, the EM isn't changeable on track (not sure if it should be), it has very unstable front end and if it sees water it lays down with legs in the air.

But always remember I am a crap rider too. Don't just take my view  ;)

Nahh.

Apart from the front end issue, i quite like the GP10. Could be used as a half decent base for the physics (original author allowing obviously :) )

Hello,

here is the Ducati GP9, it is ready.
The modeling is done by me.
For the engine and tires, I took those of the GP10, made by -ODI-.
I thank him warmly.

I hope you enjoy this bike.

For the test I used the circuit of Brno GP 2003 v0.8.
If you drive on this circuit, I am interested with your hotlap.

Franco

Well done Franco! Keep em coming mate!  ;D ;D 8)

Any chance you can do some old classic two stroke bikes? We have plenty of 4 stroke machines now but few 2 strokes.
I'm doing the 1982 Yamaha YZR 500cc 0W60 bike, but it maybe a good idea to do a mid-eighties or even a bike from the 70's?

Let us know on the forum what your planning because some bikes are already in development too.  ;)

Great work mate! Thank you!  ;D 8)

Hawk.

Oh my Goodness!

I am a huge V4 fan and a 2 stroke V4 would be something unbelievably special - right up there with a RD500 or NSR perhaps more so!  I don't think I have ever seen it on track  :o

This would be a very special bike to have here IMO.

i've never been a huge Ducati fan, but this is great so far, and i just set a new personal best around Brno with it, of 2m06s.
maybe a crappy time, but my best so far, and a very enjoyable lap it was, as well.
it's the first bike that i've actually managed to save one or two rear wheel slides with, something i've yet been able to do on any of the other big capacity bikes.
two thumbs up from me!  8)

Is this GP9 being submitted to Klax75 for 'Official' BIKEMOD inclusion?

I hope so then we can get it on the servers  8)

Title: Re: DUCATI GP9

i really like it - it's my favorite of all the Ducati's here - had an absolute blast with it earlier today, it eats the Ulster GP track for breakfast.  ;D 8)
are you planning to do any more work on it?

I rode it on a close comparison to the GP10 and wanted to like it more ,but the physics are the same it seems (?) and GP10 shows game problems more than most  :(

Love the bike, don't like the physics.
Title: Re: DUCATI GP9
Post by: CapeDoctor on August 29, 2015, 05:39:35 AM
strange that we seem to have different experiences with this, Nick -
i've also been doing back-to-back comparisons between the 10 and the 9 on the Ulster track, same setup, and the two bikes behave very differently in my experience.
whereas the GP10 is a nasty handful of a beast that i have come to expect from all things Ducati, the GP9 was a surprisingly nice ride on this circuit, much more well-behaved handling (you still need to take care, of course) - from what i experienced, i would be dumbfounded if they are using the same physics. similar, maybe, but the same? surely not...
or are there other factors that come into play... bike weight, and such...? or does that all fall under the physics category?
whereas the 10 is a decidedly unpleasant experience on the Ulster track, the 9 is a joy in comparison.
interesting to hear from some other folks, to get a better idea of what's what here...   ;D

The geometry is very different, but this is not physical for me, the physic is the engine and the tires only (for me).
On the other model that I realized, I noticed that the geometry plays a very important role, center of gravity , position of the mass -driver, weehlbase, etc. Your find this is the geom file.
You can have fun changing the bike.exe with the tool.
(Made a backup of the original geom.)

What do you want Nick Napalm ?
Title: Re: DUCATI GP9
Post by: Napalm Nick on August 29, 2015, 09:14:57 AM
All I did was take the GP9 out around Aragon around the same time we were practicing with the GP10 for the championship. I found it suffered the same unrealistic 'moments' in the same places. And we are talking moments when we are fighting for 10ths of a second not just riding around.

But, as I have said before, once the game physics is improved then all these bikes may suddenly become great so I would not worry about changing anything now.  ;)
