Getting this every time I play the Sprint Car / Knocksville combo after only about 1/2 a lap.  Was working fine, then all the sudden this happens.

EDIT:  Happens at Victoria too in the sprint car.  (I know, odd combo) but leads me to believe it's a car thing.  Also only seems to happen during a crash or loss of control... which happens often for me in this thing. ;)

Just to add to this I was fine (no errors) using Sprint Car/Knoxville or any Victoria/F2000/3F000/Road combination all last Wednesday - the only thing I never tried was the RX car - and today I loaded up the Rx and Holjes which caused the same error as posted by the OP. Now I get the same error even with SC/Knox.

It's almost like using the Rx or Holjes wrote something back that knobbles everything else? No idea but hope it helps.

PS: Normally occurs when trying to access the garage

If you can constantly reproduce this, can you try to reinstall ? Just a reinstall on top, no need for a clean reinstall.
In the past (on GPB) I've had once or twice the same kind of suspect and the reinstall "solved" it.

just did an over the top install and same problem

Will try a complete deletion, restart and re-install and update this post

EDIT:

Errrrrr...completely fresh install (deleted all My documents/PiBoSo/WRS and all Game installation folder files) and same problem - Normalization error when trying to get to garage  :( Odd!

EDIT:

if I go straight to track with any car/any track (assumption I have only tried about 5 combinations) all works OK - error is whenever selecting "Garage"

Was able to change settings in the garage on Wednesday no problem

That is the same error I reported before, new installations did not help. PeterV is experiencing the same...

Attempt 1

• Deleted/uninstalled WRSB6, deleted ....documents/piboso/World Racing series
• Installed WRSB7, entered license and nickname (gfx settings on default or maxed out makes no difference)
• Launched WRSB7, F2000 car on Victoria (all combo's of cars and tracks have the same result)

Car in garage, game freezes, alt-tab starts the following (each window closing shows the next one)

• Deleted/uninstalled WRSB7, deleted ....documents/piboso/World Racing series
• Checked registry settings with CCleaner, 3 entries found, entries deleted

All things from attempt 1 & 2 happen again.

Attempt 4

• Deleted/uninstalled WRSB7, deleted ....documents/piboso/World Racing series

• Rebooted PC
• ReInstalled WRSB7, entered license and nickname
• Launched WRSB7, F2000 car on Victoria (all combo's of cars and tracks have the same result)
• Everything seems to work, even the G27 wheel

But then, when changing from automatic shifting to manual shifting it all goes crashing again.

Attempts halted untill new beta comes

My first attempt with the sprint car.. I rolled the car, as it was sliding on its side the game crashed. The message we see in the posts above popped up! All the while I could still hear the engine sound! Even when I eventually arrived back to the desktop!  ???

No problems since that happened though..

The process of the 3 errors Peter reported is EXACTLY how it happens for me.  Does not happen in the garage for me, just when driving.

Hmm very weird. yes only when selecting 'Garage' for me but that worked OK 2 days ago. Flummoxed.

I'm W8.1 by the way - I know a lot of these ODE errors affect W8.1 so might be worth listing what we are running here?

Seems the ODE errors are not exactly a new phenomenon to the history of GpBikes but I can imagine they are head scratchers as the cause and symptoms seem to be different every time. So tomorrow I will try it on my W7 laptop see if that works (too late now I need beauty sleep).

Yoikes - had another thought based on what Peter said about messing with the auto/manual shifting when it started giving errors again........so I turned OFF all the assists and no more error! So I turned them back on one by one and um...still no error!

try that see if it helps you. Very odd   ::) if the error comes back I will be careful to remember what the last thing I tweaked was.

Hmm, I didn't mess with any assists when it started to happen for me -- I actually never messed with ANYTHING, just started happening.

I'm on Win 10 just for diagnosis sake.

Also, note that it only happened after testing the RX for me too.

This is the EXACT issue that im going through. Glad to see im not the only one. Will have to wait till fix or next beta I guess.

loaded up my W7 laptop as promised and all seems to work fine, even when using the RX car, changing combinations of cars/tracks/simulation settings etc etc.  If this changes I will post but for now I would say W8/W8.1/W10 issue?
BoB - what are you using?

Installed WRSB7 on my Win7 desktop too test Nick.

All works fine with same settings (default GFX and GFX maxed out) used as i posted here before, so really seems Win8, 8.1, 10 could be a huge contributor too these problems.

There are some things different:
- not the same is that i dont have a controller attached, no G27 wheel and/or Xbox360pad.
- install location is now default (was before on separate (D:) games drive.

Still got some core.exe but only when i put the Tandrige and GT car on Holjes track.
And i cant seem to get the sprintcar moving with default controls? only time it starts too move a little is when i keep the S key pressed.

Exactly the same Peter - I also didn't have the 360 connected on the laptop but I ruled this out as significant.*

Same also - default install on Laptop wheras another HDD on Desktop, again I didn't really think this would be significant.*

I get a core sometimes if I do some practice and then change car or track WITHOUT restarting whole game (same as GpBikes)

* I suppose for the sake of a correct comparison these should be the same but I would guess they aren't the cause. If I get time I will re-install on a default path on the desktop and try the 360 pad on the laptop just for the sake of science.ure

Oh, the SprintCar uses a jump start (push start) method. Keep S pressed until you have some speed then dump the clutch (while in gear) or select a gear if using auto clutch. Awesome feature! I want jump starts in GPBikes! (Unless a kickstarter option can be done - I miss my kickstarter so bad).

Oke used the xbox360 pad now with the sprintcar.

It really seems there something wrong with shifting or controller(s) in general.

Set brake, throttle, steer and the shift up and down.
it wont shift up too next gear, it does not make a difference if its on auto shift or not.
If its on manual shift, selecting gear up it just revs like crazy, one time it cored and i lost my brake and throttle setting
had too recalibrate it again in order too be able too use it again.

Just wanted to record how the error occurs for me. Wanted to record with Bandicam. When the program Bandicam ran in the background no crash, no core.exe.... Exited the sim, closed Bandicam, re-entered WRS and voila crash did happen again like before. I then opened Bandicam again, entered WRS - again no crash, no core.exe

Can anybody confirm?

@PeterV - I assumed the SprintCar only has one gear!

@Stout - interesting (and odd) observation. Tomorrow I hope to be back at the offending PC so will get Bandicam and try it if there's no other confirmation first.

WOW! Opening bandicam fixed my issue too! FINALLY THANKYOU! HAHAHA

I just googled sprintcar....1 gear it is, my bad, didnt read the documentation.

Not enough gears, too many wheels, this sim has a long way to go  ;D

BTW - Used the Xbox360 and its all still working fine on the laptop.

I can not stay on track with the joypad, it seems very strange. how to set the joypad?

Beta7 has been tested on a Windows 8.1 PC with AMD graphics card, and it runs correctly.
What graphics card are you using?
Are the drivers updated to the latest official version?

Played for 15 laps then it froze, interesting thing is that i got an error i have not seen before.
(after this crash i did 36 laps no problem until i ran out of fuel)

Bandicam running.

a TDR has been detected, the application must close.
(bandicam related? its an DirectX/OpenGL screengrabber)

Just saying, a friend of mine had this problem, and he opened BANDICAM, yes, Bandicam, and it fixed the crash problem, but he can't go into garage otherwise it will crash, it has fixed his and another users crash problem to the point that they can at least drive the Sprint car so yeah... hopefully this helps other people who are having the crash problem..

Same error with WRSB7 right after clean installation.

Installed game
- Entered name and license number
- Started game with all default settings. (didnt touch a thing)
- Pressed key for accelaration to leave pit with default car and default track.
- game crashes or hangs (see screenshots)

* Core(32 bits) is showing (2) at the end in task manager, is that normal or does that mean there are 2 core.exe running?

Edit: you dont have to touch a thing, it just crashes as soon as you appear in garage.
this showed on my 2nd attempt to launch the game....

Edit2: it crashes as soon as the car is set on or touches the ground (RX on Holjes)

Bump

When running Bandicam (just runs in background no recording) and then playing WRS7B all is working fine.
tried it several times with and without bandicam running, everytime the same result....
WRS7B will only run when Bandicam is running !!!
