Title: CBR250r mod -- ZXR250R
Post by: Eagle on February 05, 2016, 12:45:13 AM
I firstly want to say sorry to the author(s) of this add-on. I'm ashamed of taking others' works as frame for my mods, but after all my failed attempts on certain tasks, it is just impossible for me to fully achieve my plans at the moment..

As for the mod. It includes:

- Engine map -- 45hp @16000rpm, 25nm @11500rpm.
- Engine settings -- Electronic idle ~2000rpm (had troubles without it), RevLimiter 19000rpm, BreakingRPM 22000rpm.
- Driveline -- 6 front and 6 rear sprocket settings
- Final ratio
- Audio samples from Test Drive Unlimited; please remove this post or links if any legality issue.

It does wheelies quite easily, tops at 193km/h @16800rpm in straight line (tested on Daytona Oval) and has an acceptable torque, in my opinion. Hopefully someone will enjoy it, and don't hesitate to report any flaw. Thanks for reading!

ZXR250R Revision 6 -- Mega (https://mega.nz/#F!Wdo2VDRS!gTxQuzftaPn7YeSOfzc0Yw)

Still no model yet, sorry... Trying my best to learn as much as possible in many computer science domains, including 3D modeling.

He he, thank you guys! Yes, the sounds are from Test Drive unlimited, and yes i will try hard to make the original model(s). If someone plans on making it/them however, just go for it -- the goal being to have faithful representations of bikes we adore as soon as possible, am i right ?

I re-made this mod few days ago, since i lost data from the precedent versions (the ones in the videos).. I plan to re-make the 400 and 750 as well, if time permits me to do so.. From what i recall, the 750 -- even if not set that well -- was very enjoyable with it's 100hp. It was a good track bike that a lot would enjoy here! ;D

Is there any way to put this bike's sound to other bikes.
1000cc bikes would sound amazing with this.

My thoughts too MAD but not sure what ALL the sound files are. I beleive you just rename them and replace the old ones, but WHAT old ones lol. A list of them would help?? Pretty please.

Sounds can be imported on other bikes (cf: my videos). Not sure about their use being legal though -- a reason i was reticent to post them.

Most of the work is done in the engine.scl file. Just an advice, adjust the idle sample to end a bit after the idle level. Fortunately, transitions are already set, so it's a bit less work (just scaling). If you want to make bikes with unreasonably high revving engines, you will also need to increase the max value in the sfx file as well.

This scl file can be used for this bike's equivalents. FZR250R, CBR250RR, GSXR250R........

Great update but still washes out very easy. Was testing on Imola.

You made it in the ROAD class now and I am not sure that is right as it is not with lights or road version?

In order that you can join my server with it in the road class is if you have the latest updated 916A5, 955A4, NR750 and this bike!!! ONLY ON GPBOC6

What do you mean by that ?
QuoteYou made it in the ROAD class now and I am not sure that is right as it is not with lights or road version?
It is meant to be a road bike. This is the model it will ideally have; if I can by any miracle make it.

Bike mismatch seemingly coming from the ZXR. Trying few things.

Edit: Downloaded the bike from the mega link but the mismatch is still there.

Post by: doubledragoncc on July 11, 2016, 03:15:53 PM
GPBOC6 is the ONLY server with the ZXR250 and other road bikes SAS.

The others only have the 916,955 and NR750 for those without ZXR as it is not in the BikeMod

I did install both of them. The server told it was the ZXR that caused the mismatch. Not sure how, though.

Told you I even tested with the one in the link; in the case I did modify anything afterward. :P

Try re-downloading it ? I did update it in-between, but it was just sound-wise. It shouldn't matter when the server checks data.

Title: Re: CBR250r mod -- ZXR250R
Post by: Eagle on July 11, 2016, 03:27:11 PM
I know! lol

There cannot be any mismatch if the bike isn't on the server, anyway. It would say "Bike unknown to server".

It would seem that SAS uploaded the wrong version

He is sorting it out. I will then have the GPBOC6 server up for testing it.

Sorry for the late reply. I am actually re-uploading the folder with the 'latest' version. It seems I got a bit confused with my local build when uploading. Once it is done, I might dig into few things noticed while testing. Sorry again.

Edit: should be up now.

I did post screenshots in an older thread, but it showcased work-in-progress meshes in 3DSMax. Projects that have been scrapped due to bad technique/methodology. I am still struggling on how I could begin to model it!

If you mean some view specific references, it is pretty difficult to find decent well sized refs for these bikes. I am not even sure I would be able to start modeling even with good references.

I would take you time and get 1 familiar area that is not too complex correct rather than try to tackle everything at once as half the battle is developing a method and technique with all the tools available. Start with the tank or seat unit and try to get a result you are happy with first.

Physics will surely be changed with the probable arrival of the new model. When it is possible this issue won't exist anymore, others could as well show up. It's yet to be seen.

I personally find this bike pretty fun, notably because of it's high revving characteristic, but I am definitely looking forward the 400 and 750, which are way more enjoyable as track bikes.
