I dont think I can make it as I striped the system for painting. Not sure if it will be back up by Sunday as will let paint harden properly as it is for InsideSimRacing and as usual my own system is still in parts being converted to Hs2 as well.
You really have made a fantastic bike BH and it is still not at V1, brilliant work.

Hi Blacky. I recommend that you make a tga template too for those that dont or cant use PSD. It might mean they cant do all fancy work but it helps.

The template has 3 layers (wire lines, shadows and the skin) I can't make a tga for this.

It makes no difference about how fast the bike is, its all about the riding and fun bro. It has been so long in beta8 we have been reduced to so few bikes to ride and stuck with only certain classes. You and H have given us the chance to have some real fun on totally new bikes.
It would be great fun and look and sound so good with both bikes on the track at the same time. And besides, once they are both fully released people will be holding such races, so why not do it now.

But, me and H need separate events, the bikes are not finished and they are very different! ::)
Might need to transplant an SP engine into the bike that would give about 125bhp ::)
or R engine for about 136 bhp

Who cares if its faster, there will be riders riding the NR others ride the 916, they will meet and battle with each other im sure.
And if not the same bikes will have a fight with each other.
But its not up too us its Nicks decision.
Probably worth doing single make races for both bikes.
There's been talk on both build threads about high poly counts and stress testing the game engine. Keeping the two apart will give a better idea of how it's handling them. If we ran both and everyone's game ground to a halt at the start we wouldn't be able to say which model was the cause.
Obviously I'm hoping it doesn't... :)
...but if it did....
On that note G we also NEED to try both together to see if they work. It works both ways.
The whole point about having more than one kind of bike is so it is not boring seeing the same bike over and over (not saying that a bike is boring). It is verity that keeps it fun.
Same with sound of different bikes.

I have read all the posts about mixing the bikes. While I believe us old timers will enter into the spirit of mixing it up, historically everyone just chooses the fastest and stuff the 'taking part' bit.
We could have two races both with both bikes and riders must change between events then everyone gets a chance?

If very unfinished bikes are making the BikeMod, I don't mind using them too much. But mixing unfinished bikes and unfinished tracks raises my reluctance probe to full elevation with a cherry on the top :-\

separate" server wouldn't be required, in that surely all you'd have to do is allow more connections for those that wanted to spectate using their "Live Replay" function? Just depends if it would cause any lagging or instabilities or not? What do you think, Nick? Maybe worth a test at some stage? :)

Sure! People are more than welcome to come and watch and not race I don't think it will affect the stability at all. We know sometimes watching the replay might cause a Core for the viewer if they switch views like a madman. And if you core during a race there is no way back of course.
The only known effect is that the riders on the grid will definitely have to wait the full 2 minutes before the lights sequence starts because the server is giving everyone 2 minutes to get to the track and this cannot be quickened unless everyone in the lobby is on the track. But so what its 2 minutes for the excitement to build and the concentration to rise while you review your start procedure and first corner plan?

I will try some live stream testing today. I have most of it set up just need to tune it and get it right.
I have not been able to do much with the Hs2 as I am really letting it harden before bolting it back together. I would end up riding on my own anyway lol.

EDIT: Well it seems I cause no problem streaming a live session in GPB, my ping stayed around 26-30. I have to set up audio to be only through my headphones to stop echo and such stuff.
Will test after Moto3 etc
Naturally the 2 min wait at the start is a pain if I do try and steam but if it is for the good of the sims future it is worth the wait I think. If you are against it please tell me.

i cant see it being a problem as my ping stays low as if I am just riding even if I am streaming so should be fine.
Only problem is MY bitrate to YT. I think that is why the quality is getting lost.

Core.exe in GPOC 2, (just when Hawk connected, makes you wonder :) ) connection timeout now constantly, one thing i see is that GPOC 2 doesn't show a ping in server list.
GPOC 1 does show a ping in server list.

The restarts killed me. 2 great starts then a mess on the 3rd and a crash then some more crashes (over temp front tyre?) and then stuck in a tyre wall wouldn't let me push it backwards until the 3rd respawn. So went back to the garage for an early bath. No way was I being lapped on lap 2.
After all the organising and hopes and 'looking forward to it' for people to come and not know/don't care about the rules it just means a frustrated and annoyed ending for me yet again.
Still, hope most enjoyed it .
I had a good race. Not fast but at least consistent.
This was kind of like the hare and the tortoise with all those blown up engines lol.

Enjoyed watching the Live Stream though DD. I was trying to help you out with information for the commentary by taking chat from the server (engine blows) and pasting it in your comments window next to the stream!
The replays are toss though with the bikes jumping about and stuff. Probably the worst game replays I have seen this century. I hope PiBoSo has a plan for that shit.
But your Livestream was fun DD! I know you are disappointed in the quality but that could come with practice and I thought it was Great!! hehe! Thanks for doing it! ;D

Dont be too nervous and dont look too much back, stay on youre own line the faster ones will see where they can pass.
I have had problems (as usual) with the pad calibration, after a restard gpb does not recognize well my gamepad.
Anyway first 2 laps bad, very bad, later I made a nice recovery for fourth place on Warlock, and I was a fool to want to push even, it was impossible to recover Davide, Meyer and Loopa.
My engine is dead in a Jump lol
Thanks for trying to help about the spacebar MMA. I know about it but for some reason, GPB would not always let me use the keyboard for changing cameras and riders???

All in all a bit of a sorry affair from me. Clipped a couple of kerbs and had another couple of spills early on, both to avoid hitting folk that I was too close to at hairpins...
Did avoid them both though - so that's a good thing.
...and I guess if it hadn't been such a shambles I'd not have been lapped twice and my engine wouldn't have lasted - blew on the cooldown lap. :D
Well what a race! Qualified 3rd and knew it would be a tough one with Davide and Loopa but managed to get a good start and keep up with Loopa until he crashed and i got the lead, and started to run a good steady low 2.11 laps and 2.10 pace. Then i had a crash, Loopa passed but crashed too and back to me being chased by loopa until his engine blew and 1,5 lap later my engine blew!

One thing I would say about the Live Stream (and it is a really good thing) that even with the Streamers (DDs) ping being >600 most of the time it didn't seem to make any difference to the racers.
I really noticed a drop in graphic quality in this race tonight though did anyone else think the same?
Oh and Hawk I noticed if you fall in pits you respawn onto the track. Just an observation you might like to tweak for the next release. ;)

When lots of people were there my whole picture became much more 'grainy'. During previous practices online that only had about 4 other people it was fine, but with 14 the picture quality dropped.

Well I was clouted twice soon after the second start, by whome I do not know yet? ::) That put me so far back that I couldn't get back into it. Then there was so much chatter about blown engines and the like, even a request to restart the race after a good few laps had passed! I mean c'mon guys... do you really think we need to know that your engine has blown or for that matter anything else while we are still racing?? Enough said. ::)
Okay, rant over.... Apart from that I had great fun even though my engine blew coming out onto the main straight with 6 laps to go. Lol :-\
Would love to race again on this track, but it does still need a good tweaking to bring it up to a reasonable standard, but nevertheless it's a very fun track indeed to race on. ;D

I think track surface is the problem, to much near the pitlane probablycause a respawn on the pitlane, i will have a lookat this.

EDIT: the live is a great idea, but need a very low ping (or 0 ping). Is not possible use the server for this? ???
@Janau: Thank you for looking into that pit respawn issue mate..... Yeah I see from that picture that there seems to be a mixture of pit and track surfaces(very strange). I'll take a look at the model object names and see what's happening there..... Looks like there is possible two surfaces overlaying each other and the converter can't fully resolve which has priority? But I'll take a look at it.

Plus I aint got time fo dat!. Maybe a good time for our beloved DD to host the server as well when live streaming! I asked MMA to try it and she ran away blushing and farting. ::)

There is a lot of points that made streaming a pain in the ass. We need a whole new camera control system, more rider information and a way to control it all.

Good luck with that, we've been trying for years :P
If I am thinking right, ping will effect the racing if the user is actually in the game as the server is requiring INPUT from the user, if the ping is high, then the input is a problem, BUT if the user is only TAKING information it is different and will not effect the gameplay for others as there is absolutely no lag involved from said user. PING is critical for INPUT but for OUTPUT it is slightly different when it is only going one way and not both. This is something I need to test.
I am new to this and real busy right now, but as it has already brought interest about GPB from the first stream it is worth figuring out. I will see what I can find out and maybe it would help if I get a capture device to help(I can sell my TX and T3PA to pay for it). I will do my best as it is in the interest of us all.

Don't throw any money at it. The bottom line is the replays are terrible - even server replays - which should be the best. Streaming that to the world will probably hurt the game.
PiBoSo needs to address it and hopefully the mythical netcode improvements will benefit the whole game in all these aspects.
Do not take my comments the wrong way, exploring the idea and everything you have done is still great and I love it. Just don't want you to invest in something which (at the moment) sux. lol.!

I will play around and see what I can do with what I have first bro. Having just one person have interest in GPB from the first shitty stream says that it would be worthwhile.
My videos aint the best but I have had 10,000 views in just the last months and not just in here lol. If my efforts bring just a few more customers and riders to GPB it is worth it in my mind.
The reply system needs a full overhaul to be honest and lets pray netcode helps soon.

take the replay MMA posted in this thread ( a sever replay) and have a fiddle Live streaming it. Might be interesting to see how much (if any) improvement it gives to the smoothness.
The goal of course would be to get the same (OK similar) quality that we enjoy in your videos?

Good idea but it still leaves the streaming LIVE bitrate which is vital out of the testing.
I need to do it from a server so I might just host a test session and folks can come in and play about, lets say a track day test lol.
That way it wont be messing with serious practices and folks will know it is about live stream testing. Might be a good thing as I will actually be streaming and see if it attracts any interest.

Beware the OPEN category DD as people will struggle to match it up (some of us using the official BikeMod and some using crappy spurious links dotted all over the forum).
I would suggest the default bikes as it is a test and no one will listen to anything that isn't default.
You only need the bikes and the track no paints etc. and your laptop will probably be fine it takes very little power to run a server anyway.
Oh Ok thanks Nick. Been testing and reading stuff and my system is okay for 720p at 3000bps so all streams will only be 720p in future.
I will be using the new Duke from H as it has had no online chance to test yet. I will also do the NR750 and all other bikes in turn to play around and get to test scenarios like NR and Duke at same time. Will use different tracks too but only ones that are graphically better to give GPB a better look.
This is all about boosting GPB so it must be done to the best I can.
Learning a lot right now and next streams should be far better.

Totally hear what you are saying and fine for now but as you know if any case for improvement is to be made to PiB then default everything (tracks and bikes and paints etc) will need to be used to form the argument! Lets hope we get that far that a good case can be presented!
