All Race details can be found In-game in the EVENT INFO page. This should be checked each session to make sure you know what is happening and to see factors that may affect your race EG: Different air and track temperatures will affect tyre wear/pressures/heat. Changes in wind strength and direction may make your previous drivetrain setup selection wrong. No need to ask how many laps.

Even when you are alone on the server?
For me, it's when 8-10+ people are on the server. I get framerate drops at turn 11 (the tricky off-camber one before the bridge).

My fuel usage per lap is 0.98-1l depending on how heavy the bike is (without crashing).

With 5-6 riders on the server :P

Everyone asked to provide links to skins please or at least the name of the skin in the database if using one of them. DDs skins are a good choice too.

Whilst not mandatory for this race it will look pretty naff if we all see white helmets, leathers and bikes.

So now you got both me and Vin in your IAS Racing, you are getting a great team there and Bob in BOB racing which looks like a sister team of IAS ;)

Looks cool Vin, just one thing, how the hell did you get both Red Bull and Monster to sponsor you? ;) must be those crazy laps around Silverstone you are doing :)

Recent replays have been coming out over 1Gb in size and therefore lost due to the server buffers only being set at 1Gb. Also the more people the bigger the replay.

I have tried to raise the server buffer to 1.5 Gb but whether or not that works depends on 2 main things;

1. System RAM
2. Track used

What you can set depends hugely on your own system. Try 1.5Gb and if you get core on track you will have to lower it.

I have been thinking maybe we could ask PiBoSo to make the (server) replays auto-save at the end of each session rather than at the end of an event. This would break down replays into Practice/Qually and Race sessions instead so smaller.

As much as I am against lappage reduction (people should learn to manage their race) I will reduce the laps to 22 I think to ensure everyone gets home - in the interest of fun. Especially as these WIP bikes may not have final fuel consumption figures.

No white lists yet and there are people in the server so no idea what error means.
But I have reset the server just in case.

I checked and Max grid slots for Silver stone are 24 and I do not want to release a track update this close to the race.

People who miss out today will have priority for the next one.

In future, I think it would be a good idea to increase the grid slots to say 30 places. This would allow a few more riders and also the livestream and MMA slots. BUT it would need well testing before it was used because it could end up creating more server instability problems.... So if it was done then it would need to be tested well(though the chance of getting 28 riders together for a test would probably be asking a lot).  But the testing would need to be done. :)

After the race tonight I will adjust Silverstone to take 30 grid slots, and we can test this over the next week or so, maybe hold a special event stressing that we need a full grid and hoping we get the response for it. We'll then find out if it's possible with good server stability to do this.  :)

for some reason i can set the replay buffer as large as i like without getting core.exe when joining or riding.

it's currently at 9000 (i have 8gb RAM).

how is this possible?

i remember not being able to load COTA with a replay buffer larger than 300MB or something.

GPB is not stable and will change its mind for whatever reason as to what you can and cant do. Replay buffer is a never changing one, sometimes ok some time core after core

Agree. You might have 9000 but find only 10mb is saved. This seems to be some default value. But why not try it!  :)

I totally agree on this, it is difficult, but i hope people will join in time, so we won't have practice and QP ruined by late joiners and connection lags!

I've been trying to connect to the race server for the last 35mins+ . All I get is a core.exe straight away everytime.... I've even restarted my system and router several times and cleaned my system several times too to try and get connected but absolutely no joy..... I think your probably right Nick..... Maybe sensible to restrict the grid to 18 riders the MMA and DD making a total of 20 Max in future....

GPB is in bad shape mainly online as we know.. as nick said it's like it or lump it - today i lumped it. but im not blaming anybody for it.. i will be back for more fun and games - but first im gonna take a break from all of this and spend some time learning how to paint bikes etc. chill out time!

Well, this was maybe a disaster, but it was not Matty's fault at all! he acted on what he saw and had to make a decision and stick with it! he did what he felt was right in the heat of the moment so no need to get mad at him or be rude. I agree, a restart could have been needed, but i think it is much harder to judge from replay than being racing.

Also, i think Silverstone might have played tricks with us, all weekend for me have been problematic, long connecting time, BIG lags when people connecting (have not happened on the other tracks as badly) everytime i went to pit, my game would freeze for sometime and DD said my ping reached as high as 4800 at that moment ( :O )

in it's current state, GPB is not able to handle 20+ riders on different bikes i think. I don't recall the Duke GP15 race was as bad at Mugello when we was just under 20? (don't remember how many we were, but there was quite a few i think)

Hope for some netcode work or whatever it is that causes our problems, because that is really the single one problem that is making everyone lose faith and get frustrated.

Anyways, i enjoyed the race beside my crash where all had to pass before i could respawn. And thanks Matty for kicking people chatting midrace! FUCKING STOP IT! it makes the racing guys so distracted and is really annoying! write private instead of ruining it for the rest of us!

Or people should just stop chatting midrace. easiest thing. in Practice chat is fine and it is nice that you can say sorry. But to me, i notice it, not that it is that bad, but it do distract me even i don't read it. I just don't get why people have to go on for few laps about same thing, when a decision is made :)

But anyways, this was just one to forget with all our connection and core problems etc.

No chat is a standard rule for our races (and most races and championships that have been in the last year or so, so it gets pretty annoying when nobody cares about it and gabs all over the place).

There is already an option to turn off the chat in your own settings but it is nicer if people can just stfu! LOL! That way you can still read important server messages and admin messages.
Anyway when we have enough people we can pick and choose the riders and the rules will be enforced tighter. I mean they aren't just for the hell of it, they were put in because people complained they DO get distracted and I agree!

Then we won't know what is happening on first laps, if there will be restart or something, that is what i am having it for. But it's a personal decision. But i just think it would be respectful and nice to the ones who is racing, if people could stop

Need a server with clear rules. Its boring waste time for stupid decisions with no motivation.

If only a few people get distracted by the chat during a race then to be fair chat should not be allowed at all during qualy or race, so I totally agree with Meyer on that point, and besides if you want to chat you can use the private chat feature on GPB: "/#[bike-number]" so that you don't distract other riders while they are racing.  ;)
To be honest I would server kick anyone who openly used the chat facility during qualy or a race sessions without question. Lines have to be drawn without exceptions so everyone knows where they stand and what will happen if they cross that line.  :)

@Blacky: The rules have always been there if you'd care to read through them.  :)

But that's the point Vin.... Restarts are not a riders decision to make, it's an admin decision and rightly so, otherwise like many times we get idiots chatting away when a race has started asking for restarts.  That is why it's totally an admins decision to restart a race or not.  :)

You can still use the private chat feature. That way you can chat without disturbing the riders

The only reason I left the race was core exe on the starting grind of all places..... After trying to fix internet all day then being able to use the hotspot on my phone," I feel pretty pissed after that bad luck. Sorry to the guys that l distracted when l re connected thought just by the of chance race had been restarted.... Good racing from replay guys.

As far as restarts being an admins decision - don't you think that is right? I mean you wouldn't expect MotoGP riders to tell the race director to restart the race just because ROSSI and Marquez fell off at the first corner now would you???  So why expect to do it in GPB??  ::)

3 points there.

1. NO chat rule was brought in because lots of people wanted it BECAUSE THEY FIND IT DISTRACTING.  :o
2. The admin is boss and makes the decisions - otherwise chaos rules - sometimes those decisions will help you sometimes they will fuck you but either way people have to take it on the chin. (strangely it also says this in the club rules page and agreement is a condition of joining in). Quite clear really
3. Restarts here are for Jump Starts only. Maybe cores IF the admin notices.

We don't have a dedicated spectating admin every race, normally it is me trying to also race so I throw my start away (Matty often just starts from the back so he doesn't get in the way) and when we see a clean start (no jumps) then we can get back concentrating.

But these are the rules of our 'club' races built on the experience of all the championships and races of the last year or so and old hands suggestions. They aren't willy nilly niceties and before anyone questions them they should think maybe they are for a reason.

Anyway those are the rules here, outside of this club people can put on any races they like with whatever rules they like. But wait, no one will, will they , they will just sit about going "I wish there was some races  :'(" like BEFORE!

Bottom line:
If you don't like the way it is run stay away.
We would be more than happy to come to anyone elses perfect servers and perfect races so we can learn how to do it.
Don't moan here, suggestions are fine, but moaning and blaming and sulking and ranting? F.OFF lol.
