Title: support for xbox one controller
Post by: iVolution on January 04, 2014, 10:17:48 PM
Since i think most people are using a gamepad, especially xbox 360 controller, it would be nice to see the xbox one controller being supported in the near future. For now there is no official pc version of the new controller but in time, it would be nice to use the rumble/feedback on the triggers in  gp bikes to give some extra information on stability or traction of the bike.

Hi iVolution.

I thought there was a plugin to allow the use of the xbox controller? Yes there is, try this link: http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=95.0 (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=95.0)

Hope it helps ;)

Maybe i should have highlighted it... i was talking about the xbox one controller with the feedback triggers, the new one. The xbox 360 controller is what i am already using now.

It's more my fault, I don't use gamepads(Wouldn't know an Xbox One Controller from a normal xbox360 controller), maybe in near future I will try a new gamepad, but right now I can control better with joystick, although I do have to compromise through lack of suitable control buttons/levers/triggers etc on a joystick. :)

Hello everyone! my first post here, and I wish all you, everything good.

It is very surprising, that <GP Bikes> has no support "XBOX 360". I have G27 Would you believe it or not, But I didn't even try to start with G27. )) I hope, PiBoSo will be work about this, and <GP Bikes> will be support "XBOX 360" soon as possible.

Hi jomardi... Welcome aboard! ;D

Try this link to the GP Bikes/Mods/Plugins forum section: http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=95.0 (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=95.0) You will find a plugin to allow you to use an XBOX 360 controller with GP Bikes.

Hi Jomardi,

Welcome to the forum, always good to see new faces around here. As I, and most people here use a XBOX 360 controller (or very similar) I must say that it is possible to use one in GP Bikes. By "no support" do you mean that it is not automatically configurated or that it does not work for you at all? If you need some help configuring your controller take a look at  The unofficial guide  (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=431.msg2996#msg2996)

edit:Looks like Hawk already beat me to it  ;D

Actually, all you need to play with a wired 360 controller is the drivers from MS : http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/xbox-360-controller-for-windows#support

Then when you launch the game, you need to calibrate the controller first (in settings) and asign the commands and it will work without any troubles ;)

You don't need XInput (at least, I don't have it installed and it works just fine).

Interesting ! Is the Force Feedback also working on the G27 with GPB?
How is the feedback info in that case? Does it helps knowing when losing grip?

G27 with GPB, works very well. hard to say, helps or not, but with s. wheel, comes more adrenalin, and as i said, more enjoyable.

Hmm ... just stumbled on that: Is my Xbox One Wireless Controller compatible with my PC? (http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-one/accessories/controller-pc-compatibility)

It says "at the moment", so there's hope ...

Yes they are getting there, just as with the 360 controller which wasn't supported for PC in the beginning as well. I guess they just don't want people to use it for PC yet since that will only strengthen the claim "my PC is just like a next gen console but with better graphics". They will just keep it exclusive to the xbox one for a few more months and then we'll be able to use it. There is not one reason why they should't except for the one i just mentioned.
