Hi DD.
Any chance of letting us know what the changes are in the updated tracks whenever a track update is published? Thanks mate.  ;)

Please for deleting Aragon V0.9 from track database and put Aragon V0.85 as some people will be confused about joining server.

Why use an older track and I provide the track database not the server. The server provider should think about this

If I remember rightly? Gzehoo altered the sector markers to incorrect positions and gave it a new version number. The previous version track has the correctly positioned sector markers. I believe he asked for you to delete this track before for this very reason but didn't get any response?  :)

So V0.9 is in fact older than 0.85? THAT is the wrong way to do it really it should be V0.95 not 85 but okay will do so

Done

V0.9 = v0.90(Gzehoo missed the zero out).  ;D

0.85 is the version before Gzehoo altered this track to version 0.9 I believe? All your doing is rolling back to a correct version, that's all. Thanks DD, I know you must be a busy man right now mate.  ;) 8)

Speaking as an "Ex-Track Database Admin", I found that because to have all tracks downloaded and installed takes up a huge amount of space on your hard drive/SSD, that it's pretty pointless to have a synced FTP to keep up to date as there are far fewer track updates than bike updates so it's just very easy to manually download any track you require as and when you need it, or just download the tracks you particularly like to ride on.

I tend to do the same with the bikemods now that server admins have moved over to creating category based bike servers so we don't now need to install all the bikemods in the bikeMOD Database to connect to servers anymore but just the bikes for the server category.
It just saves a lot of disc storage space for bikes and tracks that will hardly ever be used in a lot of cases depending on a riders personal preferences of tracks and bikes they like to ride most.  :)
And it's okay to say that you can set your FTP to only update certain track or bikes, but in my experience I've found FTP programmes unreliable to do the job you want them to do, and like the old saying goes, "if you want a job done properly then you have to do it yourself" to be sure you get what you want.

So as you may have gathered, I'm not a big fan of Auto-sync FTP utilities at all, but this is just my personal opinion of course, others probably find them a very useful piece of kit that saves them time?  :) 8)

Got to agree Hawky

I dont auto sync either and I also think some guys may be worried on HD space even if it is not much.

I will just leave it as is and also, tracks dont get updated much like bikes

Just on note: ftp/autosync doesn't imply you have to sync everything. Syncback can show you all the tracks you miss/need to update and then you can pick the ones you want.
MXB has all sync'ed to an ftp (bokes, tracks, paints, rider paints, gear etc) and it works very fine.

Good morning everyone,

I did search for this in the forum but couldn't find the answer (if I missed it i apologise), so that's the reason for my post.

What's the difference between the "standard" and "NDS" tracks?

Thanks in advance.

NDS is NON DYNAMIC Surface and the version which works best in GPB for now as it is less likey to core.exe on you.

Quick question:
Could we not convert all tracks into .pkz ? That way, a sync of the mega folder could be done (official tool here: https://mega.nz/sync).
Or put all the pkz into a FTP server as well.

The same could be done with the bikes (though the FTP works really well and has no day limits).

I could help convert them into .pkz if needed ;)
Thanks !

Yes very easily. Just pack the folder into a  .zip and then rename it .pkz. that is all they are.

Yes, I know it is easy to do it, but currently the Mega folder is a mix between .rar / .zip / .pkz
It would be nice to clean them (to have only pkz).

Post by: NeON on June 21, 2018, 12:42:16 PM
Hi guys! I got a problem downloading one of the tracks, the Bugatti Circuit. I install the mod as usual, but when i start the game the track is not on the list. I realised that the track has not the ".tga" file, and maybe it causes the issue.

Any idea about how to solve it?

If you unzipped the file, did you unzip it within into it's own folder?

There should only be one [trackname] folder once you unzip it, ie: tracks\bugatti, and not tracks\bugatti\bugatti. This is a common mistake users make when unzipping track and bike mod files.  ;)

Yes, I checked it. Here you can see the directory of the track.

Then it should be listed.....

Are you scrolling far enough down the drop down track menu list? Remember that it will be listed starting with an "N" and not a "B" so it will be further down the track list than you might think. :)

I presume you have other tracks in the tracks folder that are showing up for selection?

Other than that I'm at a loss for any other suggestion.

Yeah, I have scrolled to the bottom. I've installed more tracks with that 'NC' code, like Suzuka, Hockenheimring or Magny-Cours, and they are all showed on my list like every other mod but this Bugatti one does not :(

No idea about the reason

Just one more idea.....

How many tracks have you got installed in your tracks folder? I ask cause there used to be a max-limit if I remember rightly(not sure if it still exists or has been fixed?), so if you have a lot of tracks installed then try removing a good few then see if the Bugatti track appears.  ;)

I have 105 tracks in my tracks folder

no problems at all

sometimes it is how you unpack. If you open the track folder and look at the name of the ini file for the track, that is how the folder must be nameded too. Sometimes a zip file have a version number in the name but the folder may not need it and that can cause a problem

check folder names

Good to hear the guys came good and it's all working for you now Neon.....  ;) 8)

@DD: Sounds like from what you said, that the person who packed the track gave a different pack file name to the one inside the track .ini file? It would probably be good and prudent if this track was re-packed with the proper name(from the track.ini file) to replace the current one in the track database so as to avoid this situation in future?  :)

Little things sorted make a big difference......  ;D
