Title: New player - Hardware questions
Post by: Tosteetos on March 22, 2017, 03:37:52 PM
Hello everyone,

Avid fan of the MotoGP and Ride series. Eager and excited to get my hands on the game and be part of the community.

My question is, how demanding is the game in terms of hardware? I currently own a 2015 macbook pro  with the following specs:

i7 2.8Ghz/16GB DDR3/AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2GB and SSD. not an ideal gaming setup, but do you think this would be enough to run it at a decent quality/frame rate?

Are any of you run it on a mac? I haven't played games in computers in more than 8 years, so I have little to gauge from. The reason for my question is that I would have to move a lot of things around to be able to install windows, so want to have a good idea before I decide to go through all the pain.

Thanks in advance! looking forward to racing with all of you!  ;D

Hi Toastietoes,

Your spec is more than enough I am sure but I couldn't say about how well it works on a Mac personally.

Someone will help you soon mate.

Look forward to seeing you online  :)

I cant add anything to Nicks replay except, it would be very helpful to others wanting to use GPB with your type of setup and I thank you if you can pass on your experience in getting GPB running correctly.

Welcome to the best sim community in town

Have fun, hope to see you online soon

Guys, thanks for your response!

I took the plunge, made some space on my HDD and I'm dual booting Windows 10. I'm now running GP Bikes in all its glory!  ;D have been too busy getting my first clean lap in for half of the day!

Now I know there's a lot more to the game than what comes in the installation. I've been browsing around but can't find a place where to get everything setup (Bikes, tracks and everything else). Some threads point to files that are no longer available. Can you guys point me in the right direction?

Thanks again!

Here is the BikeMOD: http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2626.0
It contains all the bikes that currently work in the game, all you have to do is unzip the files in /GP Bikes/gpbikes/bikes

Once you have the bikes you can get all the paints here: http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=2625.0
You can find all the paints available for the bikes, and riders there; extract the files to appropriate locations and you will be able to select them in-game.

Finally, the Track database can be found here: http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=4584.0
Again, extract the files, this time to GP Bikes/gpbikes/tracks

If you want more detailed posts on each mod, check out the Mods board: http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?board=10.0

Enjoy the game, there is tons of stuff ready to be played and a very active modding community.

If you want more realistic engine sounds for some of the bikes, visit the Motorcycle Engine Sounds Repository here --> http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=4071.0 (http://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=4071.0)

Guys, thanks a lot for the help. This thing is amazing. I have not been able to put it down for the past two days!

I will be uploading some videos to just for the record, in case someone would like to know how to run it on a mac and how well it runs.

;D
