Post by: TheFREAK on December 29, 2017, 07:46:25 PM
It's finally here...  ;D

Thanks DD for an amazing system... Way better than I imagined... And harder to play GP Bikes with it than I expected... lol...

I'll do a full review and a few laps once I've settled in my new place.

Again thanks DD and Mike (SimUK).

Thank you for the video and your kindness over the broken switch. I am waiting to hear from Interparcel and will get a new one to you as soon as I get one and alter the red button as I have to on each one.

The damn shippers must have really thrown the box as the switchgear is well protected.

Did you sort out x360ce? If you need any help just ask.

Make sure in GPB you have direct lean at 100% and adjust each axis to suit you.

Have fun and look forward to riding with you online soon

I was a parcel courier delivery driver for over ten years and have worked for most of the major and some minor delivery companies..... My advice would be to avoid the lesser known or new companies and stick with the major well known companies(despite them being more expensive) - Only exception to that rule would be to also avoid FEDEX, Interlink and DPD too, but particularly FEDEX and Interlink(too many franchise depots that don't give a fuck), as from my experience working with them they don't care who they employ to do the job and they certainly don't give a flying fuck about their customers and the way their parcels are handled(often thrown through the air into sorting bays "fragile" stickers or not); what is more important to them is to get the drivers out of the depot as fast as possible to start delivering the parcels(Damaged or not).

Most of the well known major companies take parcel handling and sorting very seriously, even have CCTV in the sorting depot's to spot parcel sorting abuse, and if they find someone has been throwing parcels around, especially parcels marked "Fragile", they will take serious action.

It is very tempting to take the cheaper option when sending parcels for delivery, but believe me it's not worth the saving because most lesser known parcel delivery companies don't give a flying fuck about your parcels and is only down to pure luck if you receive any kind of fragile parcel contents delivered undamaged to your door.

Having said all that, accidents can happen no matter how good a delivery company or driver is.  ;)

Nice video Freak! Looking forward to the video where your testing/reviewing the HS3..... Good luck with your house-move!  ;D 8)

Thanks Hawk... Currently in the middle of it...  ::)

Thankfully the incident only broke a piece of plastic and did not damage the system... Everything is functional and with so many buttons to choose from I don't even notice those are not there... Eheh... I'll fix it in the near future but this won't be an excuse to not use DD's awesome system...

I tend to agree with you DD.... They don't care about creating a great delivery team anymore, they'll employ anyone willing to take the whip from them.
Most use self employed drivers now, specially since the EU directive on limited working week hours came in. I think there is only UPS, DHL and Parcelforce that actually still employ drivers as well as some self employed drivers in DHL's case? Not sure as I've been out the industry for a good number of years now DD. But from my experience as a parcel delivery driver I really wouldn't trust any other companies other than UPS and DHL to be honest; you may have had some bad experience with them in the past but at least if you complain to them about your bad experiences they will take your complaint seriously and try to put things right for you.... Most other companies, especially the lesser known companies will just put the phone down after your call of complaint call you a wanker and then not do a damn thing about it.
It's a cut-throat and very competitive business nowadays and full of franchise managers and bosses that don't give a flying fuck about their delivery teams or their customers parcels so long as the parcels are delivered, damaged or not they don't care.

Last time I was driving self employed I was paid £3.50 - £4.50 per parcel delivered...... Last time I talked to a self employed driver 2 years ago, he was being paid £0.60p per parcel delivered! At that rate you'd have to jam pack your van full of parcels from front to back floor to roof and then go like a bat out of hell not caring about the parcels flying about in the back of your van to even break even! It's crazy what they are expecting delivery drivers to do nowadays..... At least some of the most established big delivery companies still pay their employed drivers a decent hourly rate and train their drivers properly instead of just dragging anyone off the street give them a van and off they go. It really is ridiculous what the EU have done to the parcel delivery industry in the UK(can't talk about other countries because I don't know how they operate). The quicker we're out the EU the better..... The government should grow some balls and just walk away from the EU negotiations and tell them to go fuck themselves with all their crazy demands.

I spent 7 years as a professional long distance and medical motorcycle courier back in the 89's and I normally earned £1500 a week!!! But I was putting in up to 5000 miles a week!!! Worked 7 days a week and mainly 16 hours in the saddle. The Goldwing proved its worth lol

I have had problems with UPS too, driver tore the package open and left it on the doorstep and walked off!!!! Lucky the dad saw it and collared the shite!!! Broke a brake lever, got it replaced in a few days for Chris.

I am so sorry Freak I have one on the way to me now

Yeah.... It used to be a great job to have until the EU stuck it's nose in(approx in 2005) and limited the number of working hours a week for corporate employed drivers; that's when the drivers had to go self employed to get around that EU ruling and then many delivery companies took advantage and started to screw the drivers parcel delivery pay-rates. Now only the desperate or idiot drivers are willing to do the job as lone self employed drivers..... the ones left who've still got their heads screwed on are forming teams of their own self-employed drivers for certain areas, it's the only way to actually make a decent living in parcel delivery now that it's mainly a self employed contract business for the drivers..... It's a real shame and certainly not good for the end customer experience now in a lot of cases.
Typical EU bureaucrats making rules up about things they know nothing about! If I want to work 60 -70 hrs a week then I don't need the EU to tell me I can't do that! Also typical and what makes all that ruling nonsensical is the fact that they didn't extend the ruling to include the self employed!? I mean, what was the point of making the rule in the first place! CRAZY EU! The EU should be abolished and the EU commission strung-up for the damage they have done to industries throughout all these years with their silly quoters and restrictions!

But yeah, totally know what you mean about the long working hours..... It was good money but the social life was hit hard for sure. Lol.
