Title: Any TrackIR user around?
Post by: PiBoSo on March 19, 2018, 01:06:28 PM

If there is any TrackIR user around, could you please do me a BIG favour?
Could you please download the latest KRP build and test if the rotation and translation axis work correctly?

It all works Piboso,

left and right, up and down and forwards and back and rotation  8)

But...each is inverted (goes opposite direction as input) for me.  :( I can sort it out by Inversing all my axis but....  ;)

Thank you for the test.
Are ALL axis inverted? Both rotation and translation? Even roll?

Yes all of them. Rechecked to be sure to be sure.

Thank you very much.
Is movement correct, even if inverted? Does vertical movement translate to up and down in Kart Racing Pro?

Hmmm never checked vertical movement as such - (Y axis?) I didn't think you could implement the 6Dof? So I check again...

Let me try to clarify (using TrackIR default profile):

Left and right - Yaw - good translation but inverted
Up and down - Pitch - good translation but inverted
Rolling - Roll - good translation but inverted
Side to side - X - good translation but inverted
Forward and back Z -- good translation but inverted
Higher and Lower - Y  - good translation NOT INVERTED

As far as Y axis movement goes you can hunker down under the steering wheel but there is little extra upward movement you can do (much like real life). But the movement of hunkering down and returning translates very well.

Hopefully I am understanding what you are after.

Very weird that the vertical movement is the only one not inverted.
Improved TrackIR support coming soon to GP Bikes, too, with the option to link tracking to rider movement.

Sorry a bit OT. I want to finish the german translation for the new KRP release and I have problems with the terms used for TrackIR.

Can someone please explain excactly which are the head/body moves (in a kart) of "tilt", "lean" and "pitch"? Thanks in advance.

Does this help?

Pitch - Look up and down
Tilt - Roll - put ear to shoulder
Lean - X- move side to side
