Following myself going watching the real world 'Gold Cup', I thought it'd be a good thing to have going In GP Bikes, so here I am.
It going to be a one off race weekend, with one 30 minute practice for people to join, one 10 minute qualifying, and two races, each being 8 laps, around the Oliver's Mount Road Racing Circuit.
As per the Real Life Gold Cup, SuperSport 600cc machines will be used, courtesy of the 'WSSP 2018' Modpack.
I will release updated files for each bike with the relevant DMT Values in.
Things to Note:
This will 'Hopefully' be uploaded to my YT, providing it goes ahead and the racing is up to standard
Also:
BUGS:
- The Supersport 600 machines are very fast, and quite hard to handle. So make sure you can get around the laps with as few crashes as possible.
- The Olivers Mount track is still in a development phase, so while very good, and functional, there are still bugs and missing details
- Olivers Mount is NOT a race circuit. It is a COUNTRY ROAD RACE, as a result the Course is EXTREMELY NARROW and BUMPY
- Riding Dangerously, ignoring Flags, speeding in the pits, and Riding the wrong way through pitlane will result in immediate ejection and banning from the server. Always rejoin, and exit the track at T1 from the Pits.
- Olivers Mount is on a small Mountain, so there are EXTREME ELEVATION changes - Prepare accordingly
- Olivers Mount is a ROAD RACE, and as a result there is NO RUN OFF AREA. HIT THE GRASS, you WILL CRASH. Run wide, YOU WILL CRASH. There are TREES, HEDGES, and FENCES instead of gravel traps.
- Ensure you have learned the course as well as you can before hand, as it can be very frustrating at times, as its so unforgiving
- Weather Will be randomised, so ensure you have practised in all weather, as OM races in the RAIN!
REGARDING USE OF THE CIRCUIT:As a result I plan to run this in the last weekend in October, which is the 26/27 October. On the 26th, we will have an open dedicated server, for all to join and practice in.On the 27th, we will have an open dedicated server, for all to join and practice in, up until 1pm GMT. At which point the server will shut down, and the race server will be launched, allowing only the 'official entrants' to join, and the above schedule will be strictly enforced. That being said, Entries:Post your entry below, in this format:Nickname:Number:Bike:GUID: (Found in the 'Profiles' Tab in Game Menus)Here is mine: Nickname: Myst1cPrun3Number: 93Bike: 2018 SSP Yamaha R6GUID: 18CBBE3C

Hello Myst1cPrun3,
As it is my first event, ill have few questions if you dont mind. I suppose i must keep a backup of the original cfg files for the bikes (to replace them after the event).
Do i have to replace all the cfg files ? or only the bike ill be using ?
Thanks

Original CFG isn't recommended, as the new one has altered values for the new beta.
The one I've put up for download is the one used on all servers online, so there is no need to revert cfg's after the event.
You will need to replace all the bikes, as failure to do so, it would result in a mismatch and prevent server connection.

GOOD RACE GUYS!
Those that showed, thanks for that entertainment. Couple of rough edges, some on my end some on GP Bikes end.
This was a test as much for my servers and GP Bikes stability as Much as it was a fun race for us.
Macau Is next month so get an entry for that!
My PoV will be going up on YT soon!

Good to see you back as well! I hope to do more of these random one off races, as I understand people can't always make a dedicated championship.
There is Macau Next month if you're interested in another spicy crash fest i mean road race
Sorry about the first corner melee, caused by me wobbling about like a drunk pensioner..
Anyway, thanks for organising it. Was fun

With that tight track, so close start and that first corner it was bound to be chaos!
I saw you wobble and knew i had to get up the inside and away :D
Luckily i just managed to escape the chaos.

I'm pretty sure i had a little airtime at least, would be cool to see how it looks compared to when the BSB guys fly over Cadwell Park ;)
Well there's a thought for a future race Meyer!
There are loads of photos of the recent real gold cup, some ace ones at Jeffries jumps (I took a few) but I think we have a better landing of the jump nose first, so they won't really match. Be good to see them though.
Thanks for pictures Mystic

What i felt was that if i could land slightly on the rear first over the jump, i had slightly less wobble, landing both wheels same time was instant wobble crash and front a tad before rear was managable in some cases.
Acc. Harder just before jump and acc. while in the air helped me a lot on the landings.
For me, doing what you do, was usually going to end in a terminal wobble. I guess different bike, setup, style etc. Oh and angle of attack of course! I always aimed for as upright as possible, but not never seemed to manage it. Full throttle till just before the lip then ease off, nose first and full throttle on landing was the safest bet for me, if not the fastest.
What a fantastic track for GP Bikes though. Amazing and accurate detail and I feel the bike's behaviour mimics real life pretty well. Grooveski did a great job here.
As the 600cc actual track record is 1m45.682s, what was your best lap Meyer? Did I see a 1m44 or even less?
yeah i think setup and angle you hit is very important! Didn't change setup too much though.
Yeah pretty accurate! Managed a 1.45,2 but 1.44 was on the cards, just didn't get a good lap in after my 1.45,2. 1.44,7 was my ideal and sure with more laps 1.44-low would be possible :)
Gzehoo vs Myst1cPrun3 on last 3 laps.
I felt great pressure to keep 2nd place, but I'm excited of this race.
Good riding from both there, well done Gzehoo, kept it strong under pressure from Mystik. Thanks for sharing.

My teammate was the first Swedish rider there. Anders Richnau on a yellow, black and silver Honda RS125. So there is a possibility but it's very expensive coming from Denmark to the race there
