Hello,
In first, thank you guys.
In second, the feeling:
I take the feeling of each players who were with me at suzuka after about 5 laps, they all rided 600, not ducati.
Beautifull 3d but bikes needs more occlusion/shadow
The interior of the bike is not so good as the exterior.
motor break to much hard
to much slow to go to the max rpm
loosing the front to much easy
the bike doesn't grip good the road
Now my feeling:
I test in first the ducati,
The start is difficult to not do a backflip, but not really a problem.
The 3d is good but needs more shadow
Is it the sound of the 996?
the bike goes easy right and left, very good sensation, the curves are really good to take.
front break seems a bit strange as other bikes we already have but nice. It seems that the power really becomes at the end of the lever's course.
Rear break is no more usable for me. I use it often usually.
Downgrading is to much hard
How, HOW have you do for the strange thing we usually have with all bikes? By this i mean the front wheel goes nuts right and left and makes us falling st low speed in hard curves. HOW?:):):)
After that i test the gex at dijon,
No problem at start in first gear
I like the rpm comming and BOUMM
the rideability is as good as the ducati
the sound is good but at full throttle on a straight i hear a repetition, but i know the difficulty of making sound.
i don't loose the front wheel, only when i brake to much or if i don't think about the elevation.
3d good but same problem as ducati.
With that bike i can use rear break.
Dowgrading seems to me good.
It presume futur really good championships.
Thank you very much.
PS: it will need a new section in the stas page:)

Occlusion is the same of mileston model. The engine brake is like real bike, you can't downshift on the track with real bike without locking the rear wheel. (ask to real drivers like Desteban). Front weel Loose? no one has had this problem. Maybe you do not have to do too many laps with Soft tyre...Soft tyres= Qual tyres. Maybe you should take a little more 'time before speak.
We were on soft tyres.
Note that only the first section is not my feeling.
I precised that was a fresh feeling after 5 laps.
For me all is good but the little problem(for me) of dowgrading on the ducati. Perhaps its only a sensation due to the sounds! like i dont ride the gp8 as the murasama, and only the sound changes.
Thank you.
maybe its only me !! but i think the handlebar on the gsxr is to wide !?
and another thing on the gsxr : in first person , i noticed a grey area at the fork (i cant watch through the bike)
otherwise , pretty damn nice :D
ok, for that I felt it was a hasty judgment. Sorry but you can make only 1-2 laps with soft tyres... and of course you lose the front !
The equivalent of the "soft" tyres is medium for WSS bike ;)
Careful as the soft tires wear very quickly (2-3 laps max, depending on the track): once they are worn, you'll lose the front easily. The engine brake has been discussed a lot:
- On these bikes, you NEVER use 1st gear on a track (except for starting). If you really want to use it you have to be extra careful at the RPMs and eventually keep the throttle a bit open when downshifting.
- Even if these bikes do have a slipper clutch, the engine brake is strong and there's no possible "engine brake" setting (like on a MotoGP) to tame down the engine brake.
I can confirm we cross-checked the behavior with real rider experience: these bike can lock the rear even downshifting 3->2, with or without a slipper clutch.
It takes a bit of time to get accustomed to, but it's as it should be ;)
MaX.
Thank you guys for the highly expected mod!!
I did not check the models and physics right now but regarding to the engine braking:
All models should have the slipper clutch installed and a locking rear should not be a case on each bike.
The 749r has techincally (based on the 2 cylinder and bigger bore) a bigger braking torque then the 600supersport bikes but also uses a slipper clutch.....to prevent a locking rear.
in real life:
If a slipper clutch is correctly adjusted you can shift down hard from 6th to 3rd without locking the rear! (No theoretical blabla....tested it in real life and on the track)
downshift 2nd to 1st will result mostly always in a partly locking rear if you downshift from high rpm.
I´m downloading the mod right now and have a big interest in the physics data.....will have a close look to it ;-)
P.S.
Due to my high workload i was not working much on my next mod:
To be honest I was developing a 749RS but now i can skip that..... :-\
The MOD is awesome. And the Engine Braking is exactly as it should be! people above does not know what he's talking! despite the slipper clutch ALL SUPERSPORT MOTORCYCLE have a minimum rear wheel locking! I drove for years r6 in track (seriously), And.. honestly .. in this mod is not so strong this feature, ok with 749 but might also be more engine brake with jap ;)
no "bla bla"

I know your new on this forum so i don´t blame you for this statement.
But maybe it is better to think before posting? ;)
I expected to see different engines on the 600cc but they are all the same.
The gears and primary ratios on the 600cc are also the same....
Is there a reason why?
Daytona and 749R have their own gearsets, primary ratios and engines, so i don´t see a reason why the 600cc should not have their own ones too.....it would make it more realistic...
Did not yet have the time to ride the bikes...only looked at the data right now...
I think that everyone has different opinions what to expect from that mod and the prospect will be different.....so i only ask questions that are going to my mind....
There is a very simple reason, the differences between the 4cil are so small that they are not justified. In addition, one of the 4 certainly would be the fastest, with the result that everyone would use that bike between 4cilinders ... instead we want all the bikes are used, and the drivers make the difference. Of course, this argument can not be applied to the 3 or 2 cilinders. :)
I note one thing this night:
We can't change gear ratio for each gear, only final ratio.
You talked about the fact that the 600 never been in first gear, im ok with that, but of course if we don't want to be in first gear in very slow corner we must to put a very short ratio, so in the straight we will be at full speed in the first 1/3.
I say that because after 20 or 30 laps at navarra it was ever impossible to not pass the first gear in almost every corner, and the straight is very long.
600 WSS have fixed gear ( by official Regulation), You can only change front e real sprocket.
Quote from: janaucarre on March 19, 2014, 12:22:05 PM
I note one thing this night:
We can't change gear ratio for each gear, only final ratio.
As per WSS rules, gear ratios are fixed (selected at beginning of season and then never changed). Only final ratio can be changed.
1st gear is short because these bikes have little torque in low revs, so you need a short 1st to start from the grid. After, you forget about 1st (or you use it very very carefully).
MaX.
I really like the bikes, they are awesome! Engine break it not too much to be unridable but still noticeable and very well done!
I could use the first gear in Misano and Victoria without any issues! Don't know Navarra but shifting late is the key to use the first. Of course if you can use the second preferably take that one!

I can understand your reason...but was expecting the different ;-)
(in my opinon: even if the differences between the 600cc are close they should be taken into the game....but anyway....it is how it is...)
The differences are really minimal, as it should be, and how we plan to ensure that all the drivers were running with a motorcycle!
the big difference is of course with Ducati and Triumph, to which we have dedicated a specific physical naturally very close to reality, in terms of speed and weight, and overall performance

Short statement:
Really good work...makes fun to ride.
I only tested the 749R for about 41 laps at Monza and yes it really makes a big smile in my face.
It is not an easy ride on that Duc....you really have to work on it and i personally think that the 600cc are a lot easier to ride but the bikes get me the feeling that it handles similar to a real 749r (not in call cases but in most of it). You really have to change your driving style to get used to the bike...
Brilliant job guys.
Some cons on the 749R: ( i like it hardcore :) )
- the engine did not rev like a 749r WSS engine (power output is good but the real WSS revs 1000rpm higher and did not loose power above 11000rpm in 5th and 6th gear ;-) )
- too much front brake power (i use 20mm and still can flip the bike easily over), i would decrease the PtT to 0,43.
- a bit too much engine braking (the rear locks easy down from 4th to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd when shifting fast).
- it´s hard to hit the rev limiter in 4th,5th and 6th gear....the engine revs slowly up to 11500 but the limiter sound is not present. The 749R has a real hard hitting limiter in real life. It´s a bit strange: In 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear you can hear the limiter and hit it hard...maybe it´s caused by the engine power curve...the curve drastically dropped down after 11000rpm. It look´s like you´ve build a slightly higher revving 996SPS engine into a 749WSS (max power is about 141bhp@10762rpm looking into cfg)....but the 749WSS has not that big torque down below the rev line....it drives more like an big bore 2 stroke....with massive power between 8500-12500rpm.
- the rear sprocket turns not round , you can see it if the bike lays on the right side and the rear wheel spins (after a crash). The rear brake disc and rear rim are spinning round it´s only the rear sprocket which turns unround. It´s out of center.
- it looks like the rear fender is a bit off center also, slightly looking from above onto the rear suspension.
- not really necessary but you did not updated the automatic transmission ;-) Shift point is @14000rpm but the limiter comes in @11500.....
- why did you use 12/60-17 front tyre? Pirelli provides 120/70 front tyre and 180/55 and 180/60 rear tyre for the WSS 2014. ( I know you´re using 180/55 rear in cfg.... ;) ) Maybe it was only a mistype? Instead of 0,299 you type 0,289?? (0,299 -> 120/17-17 , 0,289 -> 12/60-17)
I riden all these bikes except the tumpet, not bad at all apart from the first gear never right and sound
ok thanks for the constructive criticism C21 :) I really appreciate. I'll try to fix these things in the next beta ... but, obviously, will remain a hardcore bike :D (my favorite.. jap is too easy :P)
I love the new bikes great job guys!! I have two questions. Can I include them in the next release of the Bike MOD which is going to be April 1st.
Second Question, will in the future you make the Rev lights on the dash board work? All the bikes have them but they don't function.
Again great work!
mmmm 1st April? sure! If the new update will not be ready, you can put this version ... ;)
for cockpit question: unfortunately in my team i'm the only one that works with 3d ... and if i must complete every single cockpit, it would take months ...

One graphical, on a few of the bikes. Could you add a extra polygon, when in helmet view, I can see straight to the ground which isn't so bad, but I can see I have no front tire at all. Especially when I'm in a turn looks a little weird seeing so much ground and the front of the bike is "hovering" with out a tire. lol. ;) Maybe a polygon just to block it off so you can't see straight to the ground.
@c21
The Brake power is ok for me and for all other guys, so I will not decrease, I have a 749R and I know what I say.
The power torque is pretty good now, I have a graph of torque of real 749 with tuned engine, I just have to improve flow around 11000 rpm, the rest is ok.
For the front wheel i choose 120/60 after millions of miles of testing with all the tester (very fast people), and simply we prefer them. However these tires are on the market ;)
engine braking is necessary to reduce it but not so much, yesterday I have done crazy fast laps with Davide74 on vallelunga and we did not have any problems with engine braking. :)
QuoteI have a 749R and I know what I say.
You´re a lucky one ;)
QuoteThe Brake power is ok for me and for all other guys, so I will not decrease
Ok, i will have to adapt my braking style...
Quoteengine braking is necessary to reduce it but not so much
Yes, it is not much decrease necessary on the engine braking but a tiny bit....
I´ve done several laps with Alibaskins yesterday on Monza and i found myself really struggeling to keep his pace. Ali was riding a GSXR600. Several times i crashed with a locking rear downshifting 4->3 or 3->2 on some corners. He outbrakes me several times because i was very careful at the downshifts to prevent a locking rear.
QuoteFor the front wheel i choose 120/60 after millions of miles of testing with all the tester (very fast people), and simply we prefer them
Seems reasonable. I don´t have any issue with the front end...was only wondering looking at the data ;)
Just have to say: You have done a real good job with this MOD!
Well ..Alibaskins is hard to follow even on a Vespa ;D
Thank you for your words ;) I really appreciate. I will try to improve it.

little bugs I noticed :

Thx mate... it's just that I have received many many many private messages with stupid complaints (not all) , I did not expect, and this is little 'annoying .. but I have also received many compliments and constructive criticism (like C21 post), so.. the show must go on :)
I'm very sad, oDI and all the guys in Italy Gpbikes have worked really hard, all night sometimes, and I'm really sorry to read critical silly, without any knowledge of the facts. respect the criticism of course, serve to improve the next project, but when I'm silly makes me very angry, because oDi has put love, passion and talent in this huge project, that includes 6 motorcycles, taking care of all the details maniacally.
anyway guys .. sometimes it's hard to be polite and respectful, but maybe I realized something ...... The talent has always created jealousy in the minds without love, and passion.

i think these 600`s are more fun then any bike so far. The 1000cc feels kind of boring now as you need to put some more skill into the 600 to keep it going. Very good job on the physics & engine guys. It really feels like a 600 :)

Which sad joke ? I was just saying I don't have the problem the other guy is reporting :o
I guess you've misunderstood what I've written, Skerp.
In any case, there's no need to go ballistic on this whole subject: oDi and others have put a lot of effort and the result is very good. Most if not all the comments are very positive.
People are reporting minor bugs here and there, things potentially to improve: well that's normal whenever a "product" is sent out to the public.
OK some comments may be not really smart, but that's bound to happen: up to oDi & co to filter what's relevant from what's not.

These kind of reports is what is called feedback, its normal to have minor bugs in such a big project, 6 bikes are a lot.
Sure people many times aren't so kind reporting them (ask Piboso :P), but you know.....people....
The mod is really good and promises good racing events, good fun, thank you.
QuoteThe mod is really good and promises good racing events,

QuoteThese kind of reports is what is called feedback, its normal to have minor bugs in such a big project, 6 bikes are a lot.
in my opinion the minor bugs should be reported by users of the mod to improve the next version ;)
I don´t see it as a criticism on the mod itself.
It only helps the modders to improve their fabulous mod.
You can have tested the mod to the bone but most bugs are revealed after release of the mod and found by users.
Feedback could be positive or negative.
If you get negative feedback it should be bulletproof and with a understandable explanation what´s wrong.....if someone only talking shxx or did not have a well grounded explanation i would not take care of this feedback.
If someone is of the opinion he can do this mod better please try.....personally i don´t think the result will be huge better then now.
This mod was highly anticipated by most of the users and in my opinion it fully achieved the expectations!
There are still some minor things to improve....but it does not matter if they will not....
I´m a big Superbike and Supersport Fan. I had really huge expectations of this mod and it is not easy to satisfy me....but this mod gets me a big smile....and that´s hard to achieve ;)
BTT
One question at all the GP Italia Testers: Are you able to drive the same laptimes with the 749 as with the other 600cc?
I agree with all of you guys! :)
I have nothing against the feedback as I have explained, my "problem" was only with people who speak almost with anger when they report a bug, or with stupid/superficial ways, and to who is sending me idiots messages. They should understand that it's a beta (will be in development for indefinite time), ... and unfortunately the bugs are 'natural'. Then.. that is not our job, is a passion and we only want to share with you. Ok ... I hope everything is clear ;)

One question at all the GP Italia Testers: Are you able to drive the same laptimes with the 749 as with the other 600cc?
Absolutely not! as in reality the twin is best expressed in the circuits where you do not need a lot of top speed, where instead of the four-cylinder give the best, the very DUCATI suffer the powers of the four-cylinder Japan, but despite this I think we are on the order of one second lap, in high speed circuits, the circuits instead of medium fast defends very well, thanks to the power in the low revs, and the wonderful cycling. in conclusion, I think that those who will use Ducati will have to suffer, because it is difficult, cantankerous, but darn generous and beautiful, and a good driver can get out of the satisfactions and be competitive against even the four-cylinder Japanese.
This mod is absolutely the best so far we had, i had a really fun night yesterday with Stout,Warlock,Jamoz and Beuker on Valencia and Barcelona.. barcelona fits so well for this bike, it was really awesome to ride on it

Had this yesterday..no connection possible with V092....switched back to v090 and could play.
Is it possible to add the mod version number to the GPB Italia WSS and Motoonline FR WSS servers??? Would be really helpfull!
Names updated as asked ;)
weird... our server is updated ... :o
thanks _oDi_
Thanks!
I was curious, about the Triumph, in the old version before WSS 600 was released the Triumph had a texture called "MechanicalDetails.tga" which had the frame, and assorted metal parts. When doing my teams paint for this bike, since the frame and swing arm are red. With the new triumph did this textures name change? Because putting the old file in to the paint it not longer shows up on the bike, when the other textures do.
Thanks. :)
uhm.. I don't remember if i renamed some texture, i think not... however, for the Daytona the name it should be "partimeccaniche.tga" ;)

No i'm sorry C21... to upload it to another host it would take hours (4/5 on Dropbox)...
however maybe there is too traffic now (?)

Sorry guys, there was an error in the 'upload ... you need to replace this https://www.dropbox.com/s/qtt245zm4wxfl2h/ducati_749.rar .cfg file in the Ducati 749 folder. It's necessary for the guys who use Autoclutch.

the kawa has a fantastic sound, when i heard it for the first time i fell in love
i love the idle sounds. when i first went into the game i just thought "it sounds like my bike!" and then proceeded to crash a bunch everywhere...being away so long i needed to brush up on playing. and calm down LOL! need to get some consistency back before i get back online. trying to learn more than just 2 or 3 tracks as well. much easier with the lower speed and easier control however. the 990 made learning tracks a nightmare because before you knew it you were at warp speed.

I was online on a French server the other day and they had the server set to manual clutch only, and it is a weird reaction when changing gears. Lol
