Title: Questions about winglet simulation
Post by: Vini on June 23, 2020, 11:42:50 PM
Since GPB simulates slipstream, I was wondering if this also (negatively) affects the wings?

It sometimes feels to me like the front is losing grip/weight (drifting wide) slightly when following someone closely, especially when accelerating out of fast corners.

Yes, slipstream effect on the wings is simulated.

Cool, so I'm not imagining things :D

You can see the effect very clearly in my latest Termas video. One or two times when I was closely behind Kerazo I drifted  wide out of T3 even though my entry was very tight.

Does the angle of attack (pitch) of the bike affect the winglet downforce as well?

The winglets drag and downforce increase with the dynamic angle of attack.
Downforce drops to zero at the critical angle.
