The only reason I can see to avoid Windows 8 revolves around the User Account Control (UAC).

You can disable notifications but to fully disable it in Win8 you need to change a registry key and then reboot.  If you happen to have any Metro Apps that disables them.

I find spec races to be really boring, which is why in auto racing I prefer LeMans to F1.

Thing is, with all things being equal when it comes to the vehicle, the better driver will win, and that's the only factor.

With all things being equal in driver ability, assuming no mistakes being made, the better vehicle will win.

Given that mistakes will be made by even the best drivers, having differences in the vehicles will just add another dynamic.

Racing is about different teams...TEAMS and manufacturers and drivers all competing.  Each manufacturer wants to build a better machine, each driver wants to be better than the other drivers and be comfortable with their machine and each team wants to have the best combination of driver/machine.

Most of the technology today is available to all teams, barring specific manufacturer innovation (Kawasaki has feature X while Honda has feature Y while Ducati has feature Z etc.).  This creates the same mix up, but it does seem that it's a lot like the olympics.  As technology and technique get more and more refined, the gap between racers is likely going to close, barring driver error.

My last few consoles were Dreamcast, XBOX/GameCube, XBOX360/Wii.

I've not been a fan of the Playstation brand since the PS2 was released.

Things have changed, I plan on getting PS4 and Wii U

I actually like the controller, and I've had a wired 360 controller since before the 360 was even released officially and the only thing wrong with it is that the rubber finally split and came off the left analog stick a year ago.

I just started watching SBK and WSS seriously (of course catching up on the older series as I don't have access on TV) this is an amazing resource for me.

Thanks a ton

Don't know if that guy was an idiot or a genius.

He had enough clues that he should have slowed down, but in his defense he kept cool and made it through the "puddle"

Is there an option in the game menu (video options in game) for "trajectory"?  I think that's it (just played MGP for PC)

It's a fun game somehow, despite seeming like a grind the whole time, I think the fun is in figuring out how to grind it.

Brand new here

Aaron, 33 (until June), Canada.

I just got my motorcycle license last August, currently riding a 1985 Honda Aero NH80
Looking at purchasing a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 (Non ABS because it comes in red).

Started playing MotoGP (2002) after plugging in my original XBOX for the first time in years.  Found this forum by complete fluke (as an actual google search for Superbike Simulators returned a lot about the SBK and MotoGP series and a bunch of shockwave and flash games but not this).

I downloaded the trial at work and will move it to my home using my phone so i can install and try it out.   I can likely purchase the full version in a few weeks if I like it.

If having trouble in Windows 7, usually for home computing, try disabling UAC (user account control) and rebooting.

Start > Search > UAC > ENTER

Slide the bar all the way down and hit OK, then reboot.

You  might also want to give your user account full ownership of the C:\ (and all subfolders) as ownership defaults to "TrustedInstaller" which I find can cause a lot of problems.

Start > Computer

Right Click on C:\ > Properties
Click on the Security tab
Click on Advanced (near the bottom)

On the new window that just popped up, click on the Owner tab
Current owner is most likely Trusted Installer
Click on Edit

In the bottom pane (Under "Change owner to:") click on your windows username.
Check the box underneath "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects"

Click OK, and get a coffee or something as this can take a few minutes

Click yes on prompts asking to give yourself permisson to change the ownership.  There may be a few access denied errors.  Also, disable your AV before doing this unless you want repetitive stress disorder.
