I can see only 2 issues:

  • During races, if a checkpoint is missed, this should be flagged in the results so that race organisers can decide after what to do (time penalty or not), watching the replay. But during quali and testing (for Hotlap events and record page), a lap during which a checkpoint is missed should not be taken into account. That should be trivial to implement.
  • When you crash hard, sometimes the bike ends up behind a low wall / guardrail: if it respawns there, you could be trapped. Maybe we can just live with that: it was a big crash, you're out of the race.

It sounds very reasonable to me: no issue of respawning on track all of a sudden (like right now), kind of more realistic, should be very easy to implement.

Do we all agree this is the preferred way to handle respawn ?

Hi all,   and , does anyone  know if it's possible to modify the skysets, and general track objects ?       I include ,and mainly refer to cardboard , is it one or two dimensional spectators !!     Particularly when testing at the track alone, I find it really ruins the immersion factor, along with the exact same clouds or sky sets that never change ...I would prefer a cloudless sunny sky ,by default and with NO spectators, especially if they look this bad....lol    !!       I know ,I should get a life......more laughs,  But,  animated and changeable skys even, without rain ,have been a part of driving sims for a long time now.  GTR 2  for example ,where you can see the clouds moving ,and each time you turn up to the same track this will have changed !!!       My main point being ,that if you're going to have clouds in the sky ,they should move ,but certainly not be in the same place every time you visit the same track ..):

Oh seriously, if you crash in real life,there is no RESPAWN !!    This isn't real life I hear you cry ,however, it is supposed to be a serious simulation ,and crashing is crashing .     I actually found the previous beta not particularly satisfactory ,and I refer to the original SUPERBIKE sim,where the rider would have to run to his bike ,pick it up and and then join a track correctly !! Hardcore, but great and very realistic ..Personally I don't want any concessions to realism, and those that  want this ARCADE nonsense should go and play the contemporary Superbike or moto gp games ..Failing that, practice practice, and don't crash !!!
