Last lap of the tournament... first place... BMW so close you can almost touch it... rolling on the throttle....core.exe. That would have been a great plot twist

Quote from: doubledragoncc on December 17, 2016, 09:41:58 AMIt doesnt matter what they stated on the show. Its still free advertisement. If they will enquiry for one at that guy in the video they will still end up at you as he will probably redirect them. I understand you want to be creditted for your work but saleswise its not going to change a thing. The network is never going to rectify such a statement as they were technically right in saying he made a simulator by combining some products although thats something anyone can do. You cannot get all upset by these small things as it will be bad for business.
I wont swear at all
The problem in the USA is most people take what is said on TV and in the news as gospel, gods word and that IS a problem. I lived there for 18 years so I do know what I am talking about.
Besides that, it has taken me years to get a system shown on TV and then it is not even said I had anything to do with it, sorry but I am FUCKING upset about it. MY son died on his Ducati in the Black Forest and I am the one who wants to do something about it and now someone else gets the credit for years of work!!!!
I will be diplomatic but man I wanna punch someone right between the eyes right now!!!!

Quote from: finpower on December 01, 2016, 01:30:33 PMYeah true, not the first time as well. Thats why i only register for a championship when i can make the time free for it every week. Aside from that, i dont know how last races went but it may have something to do with cores during the event as well. Those can drain motivation pretty quickly as well
But I do not understand one now.
Where did all the riders go, who entered the first race?
You even had to put a white list.
I find it just shabby, if someone already organized a championship and then do not show up in the races.
Even if one does not like the motorcycle so, you could show solidarity and still be there.da the gpbike municipality of the active drivers is still very thin.
Would be worth considering.

Quote from: Hawk on November 09, 2016, 02:07:02 PMI guess another test is never a bad thing. I also get the impression that a Beta 10 is not so far away. If online stability improves i will pick up racing again as well, but for now i will be happy to watch.
To be honest having 24 riders on the grid is asking for stability issues and riders not being able to connect to the race server on the night.
Personally I'd lower it to 18 rider slots at most for stability plus a slot for DD to "Live Stream" the event so those that cannot compete can at least watch the event.
Either that or wait till beta 10 is released and hope that the netcode fixes have solved the online stability issues.
Just my thoughts.![]()

Quote from: PiBoSo on November 05, 2016, 03:37:02 PMEither way, sounds like you made some good progress already. Cant wait to do some massive group testing with the new beta. Keep up the good work, heading in the right directionQuote from: PiBoSo on November 05, 2016, 03:32:43 PMQuote from: vin97 on November 05, 2016, 03:17:00 PM
Will the reintroduction of the old respawn systems mean that we can reset runaway/ghost bikes?
This should already be possible.
A check has been added to Beta9: if the bike has been riderless for more than 5 seconds, it should be possible to use the "3 seconds reset" regardless of the bike speed.
Mmmmh... Actually...
Nevermind, there is a bug and it doesn't work
It will be fixed in Beta10.
Quote from: Stout Johnson on October 24, 2016, 07:55:05 AMGuys don't start on physics improvements now... i am still thanking baby jesus and the holy spirit for the fact that mister P. is actually crushing some bugs now. Checking the daily development makes me happy nowadays.Quote from: HornetMaX on October 24, 2016, 07:08:54 AM3. realistic high-sider physicsQuote from: PiBoSo on October 23, 2016, 05:51:03 PMNot that they would be visible in a video, but a couple of things that come to mind physics side (aside the already mentioned problems leaning uphill):
Unfortunately there isn't much left to improve on the physics' side, so a new comparison video will not make such an impact.Very low speed handling is also sometime problematic (more a virtual rider issue than real physics).
- Gearbox sim
- Brake thermal simulation (not sure where we stand on this: I thought there was none, but I may be wrong)
4. better simulation of powerslides and trail-braking (probably related to tyre model and virtual rider)
5. less rigid linkage between bike and rider
(6. rider ragdoll ?)
Then it would be perfect imo...
Quote from: Hawk on October 02, 2016, 04:07:21 PMIt think what jamoz meant was aside from people that quit before the finish in casual events, crashing your bike in a race (could be someone elses fault) and completely losing sight of anyone for the next twenty laps is just no fun. If i lose 10 sec i know there is a chance to make up for it with good driving, but if i lose 30 sec because of an unlucky reset all competitiveness is gone and anything to race for is lost. Yes i will still finish the race but in my mind i already quit since a 30sec gap you will realistically not close within the same race. The variable time it will take for people to get back on track after a crash will completely spread out the field and it will basically be a single player experience. People that crash together always were able to continue the battle because of similar resets, same holds for peope that crashed the same amount of time, in previous betas they would still be relatively close to each other. And yeah i am all for realism but there is a limit, a real bike you just dont crash that often because of all the extra feedback and controls so dont compare gpbikes to real life. As long as i need to steer the bike with one thumbstick that maybe moves 2cm, have brakes witout feedback and no sense of grip except for visual clues or 1:1 physics, let it just be a game and keep some unrealistic elements in just for the sake of competitivity. Everyone crashes and 95% will do it at least once in a race, those people will stop racing after a few races of solitary driving and that is not what we want. Yeah i will give the new system a shot, wont have much of a choice i guess anyway, but there is simply no chance i am wrong about this unless everyone suddenly knows how to drive and stopped crashing.
With all due respect JamoZ, anyone organising a race event doesn't want the type of riders taking part who rage quit or quit just because they feel they have no chance of winning the race; we all know the type of person I'm talking about...
As for fun..... THIS IS FUN JamoZ! Embrace it man!![]()
But maybe your talking about the sort of fun that resides in the online FPS games were you can run around without fear of getting shot because you know you can respawn straight away and continue unimpeded? They would be much more fun if one shot and you were dead and out of the game, but they pander to the mass market of Gameboys who think respawn even after your shot is better fun... Mmm, I'd hate to see that sort of attitude come to simulation related events.
Server hosts and event organisers hold most of the power, if they'd actively help stamp out the gameboy attitudes then online events would be so much better.![]()
Just give the new respawn time mate, it'll grow on you!
