Looking forward to episode 2 :)

Thank you for your kind words. :)

Off Topic / GP Bikes video trailer (just for fun)
July 03, 2020, 12:35:40 PM
Made a small GP Bikes video trailer. This is the first time I played around with After Effects. My old computer gave me a few headaches (could not see the animation results in real time without having to render them out to a video file). It was still fun to make them but it was also very time consuming. Some of the animations could be smother and there are some small imperfections, but I thought it is good enough to publish.

The project is a combination of using After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop. The rider quotes are from different videos, I cleaned up the original samples as best I could since they had a lot of background noise.

The music is made by me (as usual) in Ableton.

The in game footage should be in higher resolution but my computer again turned out to be a bit of a problem since I could only capture it in 1080p and I needed to zoom in at one part. Anyways, I hope you like it.

For sharing a video of a "crazy guy" sitting on a real bike and using it as part of a control unit or for Maggikk posting a pic and video of his inventive controller? Nice input there DD, very thoughtful and all in good spirits I'm sure. Not at all condescending or douchebaggy...

Cool Maggikk! "Simple" but efficient. Did you 3D print the spring holder parts?

Custom hardware / Anyone heard of this (LeanGP)?

The article is from March 2018. Looking at the Kickstarter page it seems like the project is dead...

I would not steer with my body as he does and rather hook the steering up to the actual handlebars, but this dude is sure going far and beyond...  ;D

PS: And I thought my wiring was messy!  ::) (Check the video in the reddit link)

Support / Camera shake on some tracks

Has anyone figured out why the camera shakes (especially at low speeds) on some tracks? And does anyone have a solution for the problem? See example video, it's very obvious around 10 seconds in.

Suggestions and wishlist / Piboso money making idea.
March 25, 2020, 12:33:21 PM
@Piboso. I don't know if this is even possible, don't know shit about programming, but I love the controller setup in your games. So I thought, would it be possible to make a standalone version of it for other games? I myself fiddle and suffer with UJR (vjoy) and x360ce to be able to use my custom (multiple controllers) setup in Milestone games and others. I think a lot of people would happily buy a software that's makes it easy to setup multiple controllers for any game. Now, as I said, I don't even know if this is possible (sending the controller input and mapping data to non Piboso games) but if it is, it might not be a bad idea.

Corona crisis is obviously giving my brain way too much free time to think...  ;)

Quote from: Vini on March 06, 2020, 02:36:56 PMHow do you plan on judging the underlying game physics if the bike you are using for testing has been changed in this beta??
The MotoGP bikes on the other hand have not been changed and for me I can't feel any difference in beta17.

Besides, the mod bikes have far better tuned data than the stock bikes. I think even PiBoSo admitted that at some point.

Since I don't know what the underlying changes in the new beta are, I suspect that there are changes that the unchanged mod bikes aren't adapted to and therefor gives a false representation of the underlying physics. The data might be better on the mod bikes but if there are parameters they don't take into consideration they will not accurately represent the physics engine. Of course I might be wrong since I don't know how to make mod bikes. That is my reasoning anyway...

Quote from: h106frp on March 05, 2020, 10:46:22 AMTrail braking physics appears to be broken in b17 and even altering the brake force in the physics file does not appear to fix the issue. Anything more than a very light dab with any lean causes the bike to drop (not even sure its sliding before this happens).
No idea what you mean.
The MotoGP bikes feel exactly the same on the brakes to me.

We were talking about the M2 bike... Can't really judge the games base physics on mod bikes.

Really like the bike. Only two small question marks. The first is that it's real easy to lose the front (common problem with many bikes so I realize there is a bigger issue related to GPB behind it), and sometimes I get this weird rev drop in second gear on throttle.
