Bug Reports / Shadows broken?

Hi,

I noticed that some tracks using a lot of shading textures (like the main asphalt texture on Suzuka) doesn't seem to work. Here's what I've got on track :



As you can see, the track is nearly "white".

Everything is activated or in ultra setting in graphics menu. Using a GTX970 with updated drivers.

Hi,

I noticed that a bug appear when we press F10 in one of the settings menu, the screen suddendly zoom in. It looks like pressing F10 change the dpi of the game or something like that.

My screen after pressing F10 looks like that :



Moreover, High-Res screenshot function seems broken too. I only got black pictures, on track or not.

Mods / [HOW-TO] Animate the chain

All of the credits go to JC#21, which made this tutorial in french at motonline-france.com.

All images are available at full size by clicking it


Part I - Pivot positionning

- Select your chain object
- Go to "Hierarchy"
- Affect to pivot only
- Move the pivot at (0,0,0)
- Be sure to have the axis in the correct directions






Part II - Gearbox output

- Create an object (a sphere is perfect for that)
- Move it to the middle of the gearbox side of the chain using the left view
- The values we'll be using in the gfx.cfg appear at the bottom of 3ds Max



Part III - GFX file

- Open your gfx.cfg
- Go to the chain section

- The values in the "pos" section are the one which need to be changed. (values from 3ds Max)

Note : GP-Bikes and 3ds Max are not using the same axis. Check the previous picture to see how to choose the values.

Here's the corespondences between both :

   Y     =     X
   Z     =    -Z


Part IV - Adjustments

With what we've done here, you should already be able to see a rotating chain ingame. The thing is that it's probably not well positionned. We'll see how to put it in the correct position.

We can see that we need to rotate a bit the chain.

- Rotate de chain arround its axis on the rear wheel.
- Move the sphere we've created before at the correct position compared to the ingame screenshot.
- Update the values in the gfx.cfg.



Part V - Results

Now we've got a beauriful ingame chain, which rotate perfectly!



Part VI - Possible bugs

If the chain doesn't rotate in the correct direction, it should come from the unwrapping. Just edit the UVW unwrap, by mirroring it. It should works!

Hi!

Here's a new supermoto! Just a quick work made in few hours based on the fun KXF. Few changes in physics, the "main" one is the rake angle. Only 17 degrees were simulated before, whereas on this bike 26.2 degrees are simulated (real value). Some tweaks here and here,new 3D and a reworked geometry :)

This is an alpha, and this bike will be maintened until PiBoSo realease the next beta of MXB which will feature a real and properly simulated supermoto.

Templates will be available very soon, and probably a little update to add some stuff such like the chain and maybe (cannot guarantee it) a 1st person view.

99% of the credits go to KXF creators  :-*

Painting notes :

- Seat is not skinnable yet. It will be added in the next update.
- Wheels have not been unwrapped, so you can create your own color textures (rims = wheels.tga and spokes = chrome.tga) if you want to change colors  :)

Bug Reports / Steer grips type

Noticed a little problem tonight while playing with the gfx.cfg.

When trying to set to grip type to 2 (instead of 1), it starts to disappear, to reappear, etc. The biggest problem is an important FPS drop : 40FPS with grip type set at 1, 12FPS while set on 2. No idea what's happening  :-\

Since the concerned topic has been locked, it seems that opening a new one is the only solution to answer. If PiBoSo doesn't want to talk about it anymore, he's free to delete this topic.

So here's the last message, which I'll try to answer.

Yes, seriously. Why? Not to sell those models to someone else, not to distribute it for other games. Nothing. MotoGP15 has both Varese and Murasama in a better modelling quality. If people really want those models, they have no reason to rip GPB compared to MotoGP games. If I personnally tried to get those models, it was only to work on skins in the most effective way. We are here for your physic engine, not to steal your 3D models. Moreover, the concerned members, (h106frp, Matty, Hawk and I) are not new comers here. You know that we've all contributed to the community.

I personnally tried several times to get those models to create paints, since repacking a pnt each time isn't very confortable to work with. As suggested by myself few weeks ago, an EDF Viewer will be greatly appreciated. It's a good solution : no need to find the original model, quick texture testing, etc. As said in the topic, it's not the more important work to do for now looking at GPB developement state, so I'm not blaming you for not releasing this kind of tool. But please, consider our position as content creators. If you want new stuff for your simulators, we need some things to work with in the best possible way.

Ripping is something "bad" even for most of modders. I personnally don't like to distribute things which I'm not author at 100% without telling the original source. But telling that we've taken this model from there, the other one from there is not good for you, that's why no one seems to mention it. I've no shame to admit that I'm not the original creator of my mods so if you're not happy with "rips", you're free to delete all my mods and probably 90% of the mods section (bikes, tracks, even skins).

I can imagine (well not really in fact  :-\) that all the upcoming realeases are stressful, a lot of people are asking you everyday they want at release date or the core.exe to disapear by magic. This ripping problem shouldn't be a new cause of problem to manage since there's nothing really wrong in our case and nothing was made to make you angry.

Just my two cents.

Suggestions and wishlist / EDF Viewer

Hi!

I thought an EDF viewer would be really helpful for a lot of people, especially for creating skins without having the original 3D model.

Adding textures "live" would be great too. For example if you load a bike with one of its texture called "livery.tga", you'll be able load another "livery.tga" from somewhere else on you computer, or better, allow the drag and drop just like in 3ds max without having to repack a .pnt. Adding to that the refresh button (just like the "R" shortcut in the showroom) + zoom and rotation and you'll have happy skin creators  :)

Of course all textures will have to be repacked into a .pnt for release.

That just a suggestion, and I don't think it's a high priority work to do, but would be a great feature for the future of PiBoSo's sims.

Hi!

I was taking some screenshots ingame tonight, but I found something a bit strange. My screenshots were placed in Documents/PiBoSo/World Racing Series/hrsshots in .tga format.

My first question is about this folder. I think it's for "high resolution screenshots" but not sure, it's the first time I see this folder which has been created with my screenshots today. I took some screenshots yesterday (with the latest beta) and they were in the standard folder "scrshots", as usual.

Secondly, those .tga screenshots can't be opened by any of my image editing softwares (Photoshop CC, Photoshop CS6, Gimp and XnView). I get an error  :-[

Any help is welcome  :)

Mods / [BikeEd] Little screens bug

Hi!

Just to report a little bit annoying bug which seems to only affect people with little screen (such as a 13" like me).

As you can see the T-cam parameter can't be clicked bebause the Windows task bar is on the top, and unfortunately the "Params" window is not resizable.


Can it be corrected?  :)

Yo!

Here's Jerez, one of the most mythic track of the MotoGP calendar!

That track has been smoothed so you shouldn't have problems!

To Intel HD4000 GPU users : The track has been exported with x64 exporter, so you should have shadows on track (tested on my computer) ;)

You can't convert tracks from other games without original author's permission. If you do it, don't share it on the official forum.
