Physics / Rear suspension lenght
May 25, 2016, 01:50:43 PM
Hi. I have 2 questions.
1) If a rear suspension has those length/stroke values: Shock length 300.5 +0/- 6 mm, shock stroke 62,5 mm.
Those values goes in:
rear_length = 0.0625
shock_minlength = 0.3 ??

If I put them in the other way (which I guessed), makes the bike mostly unrideable; but with the data as it is, it works fine. The cons that has this is the rer_length, which makes an increase in the 110mm value to 139+or-:

The only way to stay in 110mm is to put in with 0.055 (like std bikes) or altered unrealistically the rocker point (I mean, not fiting the 3D model at all).

2) What means the 110mm?

Thanks in advance.
Bug Reports / Connection problems in DS track´s servers
November 26, 2015, 01:11:55 PM
Since Beta 7, I can´t connect to any server that has a track with DS. It stucks in "connected". The only way is to create a server for myself.
BUT, I can connect more easily than in previous betas to a server that has a track NDS. The lag remains, but the connection time to a NDS server is shorter than before.

Bikes / 500cc 1980's
October 11, 2015, 02:14:32 AM

Here I put 4 500cc bikes from the 80's: Honda NS 1983, Yamaha YZR 0W70 and 0W98 (1983 and 1988) and Suzuki RGV 1988.
There are just for testing. You may ask: "why now if B7 is soon??????", my answer could be: "I'm a brakeball guy, and I have to change them aswell for B7, publish or not, so why not?"  ;D

Please Matty, don´t put it in the database. The reasons: 1. There are not finshed, specially the models, shadows and paints (don´t have a lasting template yet), so not everybody will want to have them installed. 2. Beta 7 is soon, so I´ll must to remake them soon.

Points to take care: 1.-The 1983 bikes hasn't tyre heater, so take care the first 2/3 laps. 2.-None of this bikes has a rev limiter. 3.-None are specially eyecandy. Please, if you want to make feedback, don´t care about the visual, all bugs in this aspect are known. Physics feedback are specially welcome (that´s the goal of it).

Several people was involved into this project. Testing, giving feedback, making some 3d parts. So, the credits goes for all of them. I don't know if they want to be named as they are "zombies in resurrection" (internal joke, nevermind).

A big thanks to Kingofslide54, who give us the permission to remake his 3d model made for GP500 (Honda NS and Yamaha 0W70).
Also to Hawk_Uk, a very talented 3D guy.

Copy the files folder into the GP Bikes directory.

Just delete them.

This files has no warranty.
This is not a Piboso's product.

Enjoy. Cheers.

Physics / geom file from 3d scenes
July 19, 2014, 07:43:33 PM
I put the different scenes in .3ds for a bike export. In those files are some spheres (which has the object name that appears in the .geom) with the geom file position in reference to each scene. The X axes is not centered (as it must be: all in ZERO) as you can see clearly the Z and Y position, wich are the ones that you have to edit in the .geom file. Use the left view to see the spheres.
This "pseudo-tutorial" is for who want to make (or just already made) a bike for GP Bikes and want to edit the geometry apropiated to that bike. The wheels must to be centered in 0,0,0 in the scene, so I don´t put them.
Hope that it can help. Maybe I´m wrong in some points, please feel free to correct it :)

PS: thanks to Neoraptor for all the great research that he did and shared with us.
Support / On-line difference
May 24, 2014, 02:09:26 PM
Hi. Today we were 15 riders at Jerez with the 250cc. For my surprise, I could connect while there was 9 riders on the server (Dibu´s one) and I hadn´t any lag during 25 laps.
My PC is the same as allways, my internet connection is the same too, and the Dibu´s server I guess that too. So, what´s different? the groove file in Jerez (as PeterV was thinking)? Notice that is the FIRST time since I´m riding GP-Bikes (I´m here since alpha 7) that I can join a server in those conditions, and it was GREAT!
