Support / Changing MODS folder location?
February 06, 2022, 01:35:57 PM
Hey all, ....it's been a while.

Can anyone help me, or point me to the correct thread please?

My default mods location (C drive, documents, piboso, mods etc..) I would like to relocate to another drive. My OS is on the C drive and im running super low on space.

Any help would be much appreciated thanks so much !

@JamoZ

Awesome!... yes DCS consumed me.. visually stunning. I used the x-55 and track ir. Not so serious setup but still amazing.
Mig 21 and 15 were my goto planes.. mig 15 is a little less stressful to land as you probably know. I never owned a chopper, just planes.
i enjoyed making skins for planes too.

I will look at your recommendations as ive never played either of them. But Arma3 yes!... many hours... i love it.

Off Topic / New Alpha, Beta games...

Hi all,

I don't know if this thread will drop like a brick? but.. can anyone recommend other games/sims that are more independent like as GP Bikes? Games that are not necessarily on Steam.

I know games like 'DCS world' are on Steam, but its recommended you download from their web page as you receive more content and they have a great online community too. If you like fighter jets, ww2 planes and general aviation on a serious level i highly recommend it. Games like MS Flight sim just don't come close.

So can anyone else recommend anything on early access, Alpha, Beta, etc thats worth checking out?

For me so far i can recommend...

GP Bikes - (of course)
DCS World - (reason why i bought a gaming PC) Download from 'Eagle Dynamics' website
Next Car Game, Wreckfest - (amazing physics, reminds me of Destruction Derby. Still in Early Access) On Steam.

I have a couple more, but ill see what others write first.

Thanks for any info you recommend!  :)

I don't use GPB on a public basis, but the video's I share from youtube are always tagged up with the website URL and very clear mention of who developed the sim in the first place. Not sure it's ever convinced anyone to buy a license, but even if one person invested in it, it's totally worth it. :D

I would really like to see a simulator (motion type) that can get as violent as a real bike does in a big tank slapper out of a corner. The liability issues and safety issues that go with that are tremendous, but on a personal level it would be alot of fun to try out so long as there is a fail safe that shuts it down if the rider comes off the bike so you aren't at the mercy of a cartwheeling 400lb machine being translated into a chassis you are sitting on in real life.  :o

I would really like to see a simulator (motion type) that can get as violent as a real bike does in a big tank slapper out of a corner. Problem is they all overexagerate the movement AND the way the most people do it is from text books, not real life, so you end up with bullshit moped data made by a university guy claiming to know it all. :o

I understand what you and many say about this BUT people still dont use the brain and realize without the forces of mother nature if a motion system moved as in real life the rider would be on the floor all the time!!! Stop dreaming and see the light. It is physicaly imposible to replicate riding a bike due to the actual physical movement and speed of force over such a minimul distance

The simple point is, SOFTWARE is what demands hardware, the hardware that controls the software must be of a certain design, If the design of the harware is incorrect it will not function correctly, BUT if the hardware is so designed that it compensates for as much of the non compatbility and the fact it is not the device the software being  used thinks it is, It works,

The problem with having a motion system that moves as a real bike is hitting a BIG negative that EVERYONE forgets, YOU are not moving, there are no forces of mother nature so as soon as the bike starts really flipping from side to side you are thrown to the floor!!! REAL PHYSICS!!!

THINK before you make comments and understand I got the bruises from testing this shit. Oh and thanks to Gean for being my test piggy

But half of what grimm suggests would still be better then sitting at your desk with a control pad.

DD i think is pretty clear he said it solved for him not for everyone. It may help some other in particular offline cases.

If you seriously think this is the cure to cores I am amazed. Thanks for the work but it will NOT cure core crashes in online racing.
DD

Yes.. i am serious this has fixed my core.exe problems. When you read the original post you will see these tests have nothing to do with online. It is mentioned a few times.

I know it can be frustrating.. but im just letting the thread know what im experiencing in the hope it helps others with the same issue.. such as Seajay 64.

Ok... so heres my findings..

I have had no core.exe since doing the following... for me it was very simple.

I ride all bikes with default setup because im a bit of a noob when it comes to making any adjustments.
So ive only tested this on 2 bikes so far... the MotoGP Honda RC and the WSBK Ducati Panigale.
Also i havnt tried this online yet because i have no friends.  :-\

As most of you know the rear master cylinder is default to 13mm... all i did was change this to 11mm and i have not had 1 core.exe since.
Ive gone from having core.exe nearly once every 2 laps or so... to not at all. Its amazing and im so happy!  ;D

Strange thing is this is quite the opposite to Seajay's findings!

Im confused... but happy!

Ok.. so a few more days later! making sure i have set rear brake to 11m and still not 1 core.exe... amazing!

Went online for the first time last night.. no core.exe yet.

Perfect! yes you can only just see the grid... i wasn't too sure if the visor was meant to be transparent or not? My first visor i exported was solid and thought maybe you had done the same?.. either way the helmet looks great!.. well done.

Just checked out your paint..

I noticed you have left the 3d model grid on the visor.. remove this layer before saving as a tga.
Also when exporting the visor as a tga, save as 32 bits/pixel and not 24 bits/pixel. This way the visor will stay transaprent.

General Discussion / Exhaust flames and engine heat?
March 19, 2017, 03:42:11 PM
Just a quick question...

will we see exhaust flames and engine heat anytime soon?
For me these little things breathe so much life into games...

Cheers!
