These gimbals are sold as replacement parts, but they are quite expensive. I wonder if one could do something similar oneself..

Rider tracking does not work. Is this a limitation of the demo?
Some key mappings don't work - I've mapped "Recenter VR" to a button on my G27, but pressing it goes into replay mode.
Tried hardcore steering mode with DST (I have a G27), bike just keeps falling to the right.
My plan is to attach handlebars to the G27 similar to what DD has done, but getting nowhere at the moment.

If you want to talk directsteer and ffb, I have experimented a lot with it. If you look under custom hardware and M302 thread I have described some of it there. Driving in hardcore mode with the g27 is very difficult but not impossible.
I'd love to have someone to drive directsteer with, not many of us here!
For learning, I'd suggest to practice without VR first. It is a lot more difficult.

I've had a HTC vive for a while, and just got an Oculus Quest2 for myself and a Vive Cosmos Elite for another project. The Quest is way sharper than the Vive Cosmos and the Cosmos is way sharper than the normal Vive. So Quest2 any day.
I have still to get the Quest working on my computer though. My wifi is too slow and my USB3 ports don't seem to work for VR. I use a AMD RX580 8GB, i7 processor @4,6MHz, 32GB DDR3 RAM and it struggles with the more detailed tracks. I'd go for at least a Nvidia 1070. What CPU do you have?

Freelook works ok with only the headset. If you want to tweak it to get it "just right" you'll need Vjoy & co.
Unless the rider is standing up, yeah, that's where the most part of the weight would be transferred.

Motion rig you say?
Interesting stuff!
I'm impressed with your vjoy (and Opentrack) voodoo.
It was there in beta 18 too, but I mostly heard it when driving in hardcore mode, so maybe the driver was more cautious.

No, it should work fine. What happens when you try?

I have been experimenting with tactile transducers for feedback, and it is great!
Looking forward to testing more and tweaking. Really gives another dimension when you can feel the suspension working and motor revving in your seat.

Riders and Misc need to be in the install path. All other mods work fine in the "external mod folder" wherever it is placed.

Not sure I understand what you mean by Gimbal. Would that be the potentiometer?

IE Better resolution steering stick?

Quote from: doubledragoncc on January 06, 2021, 11:00:55 AMThanks for the info

If you do a setup for GPB with it would be great to have a video

It is incredibly easy to setup. Just start the software, click autosetup for GPBikes and you're good to go!

After that you just activate the functions that you need.

I got it working with my diy bass shaker. Some effects seem missing, but it's cool to feel the engine vibrations in the seat!
Hard to tell if some sarcasm got stuck in the web filter. In any case;

The animations were changed in Beta19, so you have to download the new ones from Manu's Discord.
