We will re-run this A1 ring Murasama race for Fun to capture those unlucky enough not to get to the end (everyone can come again though if they want).

Please confirm from the below list I know it is worth putting the server on. This time I intend to use a whitelist to keep the riff raff out who might induce jumpstarts and cores lol.

We will use the saved tyre and qualifying results data so we will have a little warm up then straight into the race.

Program:
All day - GPBOC 2 open for practice
9pm CET everyone move to GPBOC 1 Qualify for 15 minutes
9.15 or when everyone ready - Race (no warm up lap) 20 LAPS

Using Limited Tyres, sometimes the centre of the tyre wear is inverted when rejoining a session.

For example, the attached front tyre was worn down completely (0)  in the middle.
when I rejoined the next day that Tyre had almost a full middle thickness. As you can see it was a Qualifier so impossible.


I know, not important but it is a bug.

FAQ:

To race you must have a top 24 time in qualifying and have completed a 'LOT' of laps total in either practice or qualifying. If there are a lot more people than 24 then a second race will be planned.

Q. Why is each session 24 Hours?
A. To get the biggest spread of people to have a go as possible.

Q. How will the server be 'kept alive' when there is no-one on it?
A. Our good friend The Clerk of the Course will oversee it.

Q. What if I cheat and I'm the only one on track
A. Our good friend The Clerk of the Course will see it.

Q. I cannot be on the track for 57 hours!
A. You put as much time into practice and qualification as you like, when you like.

Q. I cannot make the Race on a Sunday 
A. Sign up anyway, if there are enough people we will hold another race using the SAME qualification results later in the week. 

Q. What can go wrong?
A. Lots, mainly a GPBOC server internet outage during qualifying, but the stability for this was tested at Imola prior to B8 so fingers crossed. If something goes wrong we will endeavour to race at the stated time anyway with a "Luck dip grid position".

Anyone know exactly what dictates the SIZE of a replay file?

I know there is a massive difference with Wet races and Dynamic surface races (usually these files are too big to record for most people even if they tweak gpbikes.ini up to the maximum for their machine).

The reason I ask is I have a 1 hour 55 minute race replay file for Dry Monza_NDS (16 players) and it is 180Mb.
I have the latest 1 hour 43 minute race replay for Dry Hockenheim_NDS (16 player race) and it is a whopping 817Mb ( 4-5 x bigger file but shorter replay!)

My games machine maximum ini setting works out the equivalent of 512Mb of replay (default 10Mb) so I can't watch the Hockenheim one.

Never had to ask it before for the club races because the server can take a whopping replay file (which I chop up into the smaller sessions usually)

Hence the question.

Team Advertising: The Police/Polizia are riding it like they stole it.

I remember the great Hawkster did some work on Spa for our Owners Club races earlier this year and it is a great track.

However, there is still a timing problem I believe to be on the 4th (last) sector. I just did 9 timed laps there and only 3 times were posted. I swear I never went wide/off track/ outside the racing limits there although a couple of them might have been falls that caused it but even so that leaves 4 or so laps unaccounted for.

and I cried a bit because one was my fastest lap for the Hotlap server 

Anyway I have got over it with some jelly and ice cream, and just wondered if someone with the suitable skills can add 'having a look at it' to their to-do list sometime please.

When a developer builds a bike game it is prudent to do some homework and probably learn from the best through history (EA Sports Superbike 2001 I reckon), then take all the best bits and make an even better version.

So what the feck has happened in the last 14 years? Reams and reams of dire crap? (GPBikes aside of course).

I think I know why.   Its because they have to cater for the intelligent simmer and the bonehead arcader (lol that's a joke calm down).

So the resultant crapfest is the 'caters to the most people' result.

Here is a review of SBK2001 I had to share....

" Well, what can we say about this game, it almost makes you want to play it because of its fantastic cover and the fact that Superbike racing is fast and furious. You get onto the game, great music, great screen, great setup. But as you start the game, one thing hits you, "I cant turn the corners". You have another go and another until you realise you have to slow down to do it. O.K. you try slowing down, you make the corner but how boring is it? It is nothing without the speed and pure enjoyment of throwing a motorbike around a 180* corner at 200mph. Not that addictive". ~C~x~x~x~x~

I mean WTF! Shouldn't we be allowed to shoot these people legally?
