Off Topic / Hi, and Wayne Rainey rides again....

Hi folks!
I've been scarce for ages due to all sorts of life issues, but i'm still keenly following progress here, and looking forward to the day i can participate more here, especially some online racing.
While I had my pretty decent gaming rig, I never had a decent bandwidth connection.
Now I have a great connection, and my gaming rig is kaput. Sheesh.
Anyhoo - hope you are all doing well, and enjoying the shit out of GPB!  ;D
check out this cool vid, I started getting a tad emotional watching this, for some reason... :D

oh, PS- does anyone have a link to beta16 for me?
i like to test each version, but was offline during that time -
i have beta15b, beta16b, but would love a copy of beta16, as well.
if anyone can help, i would hugely appreciate it.
thanks, and have a great weekend!  8)

I'm still around, although been pretty scarce for the last year and a bit.
Also Cape Town area, and always willing to join a local server, if one is up.  8)

a good point, dd - worn out thermal paste on cpu/heatsink can cause huge issues, overheating of course being the main issue.

try to avoid the Sam Lowes style of banging down through the gears at once.... ;D

your pc specs are also a bit better than mine, and i have no such issues.

i5 660 (old, 1st gen, lol)
GTX480 (old, old, lol)
8GB RAM

here is my profile.ini, if you want to compare:

x=2560
y=1080
fullscreen=1
bpp=32
refresh=0
vsync=0
multisample=8
display_ratio=0
drawdistance=1000.000000
detail_bias=0.000000
3d_grass=1
texturesize=0
texturefilter=1
anisotropic=3
shadow_disable=0
shaders_disable=0
reflection_disable=0

i've dropped some settings from the max, as i also had huge issues prior to using LAA, and left them, as i didn't notice any visible differences. performance is all round steady, not experienced any fps issues so far, on any track.
hope this helps a bit :D

one of the little blurbs in that trailer vid is 'increased air control' - along with some other little tells, this is simply MS saying you can now go full retard in the air, instead of doing 2 somersault loop de loops in one jump, you do 3! woohoo!
nothing unrealistic about that, i'm sure ....  ;D

QuoteEnhanced AI, Bike Physics and Collision System, with the introduction of riding aids to offer a more enjoyable simulation at every level

boy, if i had a penny for every time developers make these claims, and still manage to push out some arcade spaceship physics, i'd have been able to retire already :D

hi folks  :D

i'm looking for texture files for the wheel rims for some of these moto2 bikes. anyone know where i could find one that will work for them?
with the files i have atm, i can edit livery and windshield, that's about it. the wheel rims i can't.
anyone able to help out?

hi matty
thanks for the quick reply, mate - perhaps we are talking about different bikes? i have the norton manx installed and working just fine, but these clubman 350's simply don't appear in the game at all. (unless that just happened to be the first post in what you linked me to)
if i understand correctly, they are named 2TCLUB350.pkz and 2TCLUB350_modelB.pkz in the bike mod?
these two pkz files are sitting inside the bikes folder with all the others, but they're nowhere to be found in the bike list?
i thought i might find them in the SSP600 class, but not, nor can i find them anywhere else...?
i have every available stand and tyre mod installed, so not sure what i'm missing....  ???

annnd.....

in traditional form, i figured out what i was doing (or rather, NOT doing) as soon as i posted.
for some reason, my eyes just seemed to ignore the blatant reality of the fact that there is a new class, GP350.  ;D
soon as that reality sunk in, i just had to laugh. there they are, same place they always were, lol.
off to go for a spin, cheers and apologies for the silly stuff. have a great weekend!   8)

good day gents :D
been a while, and i need some assistance to make sure i'm not missing something obvious here.
installed b13 a week back, installed most of the bikes in bike mod without issue, except for these 2. i d/l'd the two files from the bike mod first, and no go - they simply don't appear in the bike list at all.
i then d/'d the two from the first post here, as it seems the bike mod one didn't include the tyres. anyway, that didn't work either.
what am i missing here? any ideas? the tyres folder is a new addition since i last had GPB installed (b11), but that was easy enough and i have seemingly all other bikes from the bike mod working, barring these two.
maybe they don't work with b13? any assistance, as always, much appreciated.

now off to go test out the new Spa track ... :D

g'day, me hearties! ladies and gentiles.
as the day dawns on the start of a new motogp season, so the Cape Doctor emerges from his cave....  ;D
lol, seriously, been a while again, since my pc suffered multiple failures last year, i just about gave up on all things digital for a while, keeping myself busy doing some scale model bikes (pics forthcoming).
now i've been lurking awhile and finally back in the saddle for the great beta13. what a joy it is just to have a virtual friend or two on the track, in the form of the trainer option.
this is such a great addition, exactly what i've been after, bugger the ai stuff.
being able to race against myself is the best way i know to improve my time, just like in the old glory days of GP500  ;D
ability to exchange/import other rider trainers would be the ultimate, or is that already doable?
either way, hats off to PBoSo, for a superb solution to the 'loneliness of the long distance runner' syndrome i suffered previously.
well, i'll ask the techy stuff later, for now just wanted to say hi to one and all, and good to to see the forums seem to be ticking over quite nicely.
have a great year, and enjoy it. prepping now for some Qatar action on the telly...  8)

yes but it's not precise as I replace with my mouse

hi guigui, i suspect maybe we have a translation problem here...?
do you mean you are not using a mouse?
do you mean you cannot get precise results with a mouse?

from personal use, i have only used it with a mouse, and only changed small things with rider head position.
i don't like to mess too much with this stuff myself, so am not too familiar with it, either...  :)

well, consider me giddy!   ;D
great news for the HS2, and a superb opportunity for GPB  to be shown off!
congrats, and best of luck for all involved for this project in the weeks ahead    8)
