General Discussion / pondering paint.....
June 13, 2015, 11:39:25 AM
lol, so i will surely get rapped over the knuckles for this, but after searching the forum for over 20 minutes now, i seem to be going round in circles without ever getting to my destination.
earlier(2 weeks back), i had little difficulty finding the link to download the bike paints, but today i'm having no luck - from the guide, i go to the paints database, and have all instructions on how to download and install paints (which, again, i previously managed without having to ask for help, lol), but i seem unable to find the actual link to the mega site with all the paints.
someone, please put me out of my misery....  ;D

hey guys  :)
so, after doing a fresh install for my new rig, i keep getting a core.exe crash immediately upon trying to run the game.
it's still in demo mode, i guess (haven't gotten to the point where i can enter the license.)
what i did was to remove any and all trace of PiBoSo files/folders in my Documents folder, is there somewhere else i should be checking to remove stuff?
i figured removing all traces of the game would be a clean a start as possible, but so far, no joy...
any ideas/suggestions?

hi guys
just wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to what this option is in the install process, and what any advantages are of checking the box.
i usually have it checked, but it would be nice to know exactly what i'm doing here, lol  :)

so, finally have my new improved rig up and running, just ironing out the last few teething problems, lol
brief description - i5 CPU @ 3.3 GHz, 8GB RAM, 2 x GTX480 in SLi, 700W PSU. several TB worth of onboard HDD space.
so, not an uber-rig by today's standards, but should suffice for a while, and should be more than sufficient to run GPB.  8)
hoping i could just continue with my old OS and previously installed games seems a bit optimistic, though - some of the games work fine, others don't.
most notably, GPB suffers a core.exe crash almost instantly when starting it.
so, in seeking advice, i am going to guess that a fresh install will be best?
and on that note, might it be worth my while to wait for beta 7 release, or is that still a ways off?
as for mods, i have so far d/l'd the Bike Mod and all tracks, some paints, helmets and such.
will i have to re-d/l these for the beta 7, or will some of it work across the versions? or is it too early to say?
thanks in advance for any advice....  :)

hi all
i hope this hasn't been asked already, did a search and didn't find anything on it, so if it has, please excuse this and delete it.
as the title suggests, it would be nice to have the option to be able to cycle through riders in their actual track positions during replays, as opposed to the current setup where it seems to cycle through starting positions?
as i'm currently waiting a rebuilt gaming rig, and meanwhile contenting myself with watching replays on my crappy online rig, i figure this would be a nicer way to be able to cycle through riders, especially for those aspiring movie-makers, lol - it's just makes more 'continuity sense', for want of a better description - currently it's a bit hap-hazard, as you cycle through riders it's all over the show, relative to the starting/joining position.
so, yeah, that's my first little wish - no train smash if it's too tricky to implement, but would be nice.
thanks for reading.  8)

General Discussion / Noob greetings....

Hi folks
i'm a relative newcomer to GP Bikes, and new to the forum.
thought i'd pop in and say hello, as I plan to be here for a long time, all going well.  ;D
before i start down the road of endless questions concerning this epic sim, a bit of background so you all have some idea where i'm coming from.
I'm a 46 year old dude from Cape Town, and have been a real life biker most of my life, from my humble beginnings on a Honda MBX50 back in '83, and i have pretty much tried every so-called bike sim on the market over the years, most of them being super disappointing, and my favorite to date is still the ol' Microprose GP500.
most of the others, including the recent RIDE, are nice in their own way, but fall well short of anything worthy of being called a sim.
GP Bikes has to be the first one I have tried that qualifies.
after trying the demo for a while, and crashing endlessly around the Victoria/Phillip Island track, I fell in love with the insane difficulty, and just bought a license day before last.
since then, I've been reading up on what's what in the forum, and have been downloading bikes and tracks like a maniac, lol.
i chose my nick as a play on Mr. V.Rossi's race name, and the prevalent south-easter wind here in Cape Town, which we locals call the Cape doctor - 'cause it blows all the cr*p away  ;)
as far as sims go, i've spent most of the last decade heavily involved with flight sims, specifically IL-2 Sturmovik, where I am a head admin and co-owner of a site catering for mods for this particular flight sim.
after so many years, that mod scene has expanded to an insane level, and i decided to trade in my wings for  some two-wheeled virtual action, just to get my feet back on the ground, so to speak, hahah!  8)
I have many questions in the pipeline, so be warned - and do let me know if i become a pain in the arse,  lol.
for now, my little intro will do, and i hope to see this sim grow in leaps and bounds. there simply isn't anything else of this potential available on the market, and so it must be a success!
g'day, all, and well met, I hope   8)
