+1 on this. I got to go there next year for the first time and need some practice. :)

+1 again. I also plan to go there next year with my new bike. A bit of practice before would be great.

ohh ... catch me up and we will go and ride there together, its just ~200km away ... GP-Bikes REAL LIFE racedays FTW!!!

thanks dude ... one of my best friends borrowed me the bike to start there. A dream came true to get on track with ol' Rutter and Gary Johnson :P
The fork is standard and redone by a guy from Gera Germany. He just changed the springs as far as i know. The rear shok is a Öhlins TTX36 ... Well, sadly the bike is gone now but were in buld of 2 S1000 RR  :o

I am restricted by money or believe me I would be building even more realistic systems but I want to keep costs to a minimum to get it to more people. For me it is about giving others a chance to have a system and not just build something fancy for me.

I think the system looks brilliant, but, it is cost and I dont understand the lag, or is it faked as so many have been? HATE saying that but why spend so much and then have it so out of sync, how can you ride like that?

DD

totally got you and belive you m8 :) as i said, i just love the way its done. And imo MotoGP still isnt the right game to put a sim bike up for  ::)
Once i build a house (haha) im going to put something similar in :P ... but with your input modules, promised!

well, in fact its a Duc based sim, 3grand wont last i think.
Anyhow, for me the sync didnt matter to post this. Im sure its possible to set the right intensity up. I just loved the way its built cause its nearly perfect. Its awesome to see people put in so much effort (as you do DD) and build their own stuff to get the best possible feeling.

Hey there,

look at this awesome handmade simulator ... well, Imo it would be better to play GPB with it but i love the idea.
I still have an old R6 rj03 frame, swing arm and some plastics around ... but sadly no room in my flat :P

enjoy

I agree. It was bad to see so many core and they had worked so hard in Qually.

Starting from the pit if you are in the whitelist should be allowed

Unfortunately there isn't much left to improve on the physics' side, so a new comparison video will not make such an impact.
Not that they would be visible in a video, but a couple of things that come to mind physics side (aside the already mentioned problems leaning uphill):

  • Gearbox sim
  • Brake thermal simulation (not sure where we stand on this: I thought there was none, but I may be wrong)
Very low speed handling is also sometime problematic (more a virtual rider issue than real physics).

Thats one of the biggest issues. Less experienced riders (like me) always crash again after a reset... especially if you reset the bike and you face the wrong race direction or your on the grass ... Once the virtual rider has put his foot down on the ground, that shouldnt be possible. I used to put myself into similar positions in real life (Most, Sachsenring and Oschersleben aswell) and i NEVER felt while going low speed. Pib has to fix that.
In GPB, you sometimes  steer to the right and bike falls to the left while going slow ... sometimes it does a flip flop :S weired. IMHO thats one of the points, people dont buy the game because you need the feeling of success. The first answer i got on the forums was "GP Bikes is the top tier of demoralizing games ever" ... not sure who said that but its true. Of course its a sim ... but it would be easier for less experienced players or beginners to have some ingame helps.

(Im still racing with clutch help ... it seems like racing with clutch help dissabled has some advanteges too as the engine brake is a bit better (best possible to try at Jerez) )

Well,gotta push this a little..
We used to do a test at a "demo run" at Oberlausitz last weekend. We tried to prepare the bike away from motodrom to road racing and found a great setup as I'm going to start at the Frohburger Dreieck next week. It's the final IRRC event this year and I'm going to race with Michael Rutter and Gary Johnson (to call some)...  I hope you like the pictures
