Maybe it could a graphical issue. 3rd person you can see more of your own bike with all the animation whereas in 1st you can only see the steer, f susp and f wheel??
Or this is just a massive coincidence

Anyway the game loads both the models declared in the gfx, also if you see just the 1p model, otherwise you would see opponents without wheels.

@Wimp But just a guy have this issue?

Many people have this problem, i think more than 10 people

But then it would be no problem at all for 1st person riders, even in servers that allow 3rd person. But it is a problem right now. The server setting will depend if the game will crash or not.

Have you guys noticed a difference between the 1st person modes? Does it include the second view (the fixed onboard) and does the first view set to mode= 1 in the .ini make any difference?

Cheers,

/David "Gonzo" Boda #46

We have not tested any of this. I think it is not related to the players selection of the view, but rather to the setting of the server.

So with this problem if you play on a server which allows all views and choose 1st person view does that still not crash?

playing in 1st person on a server that allows 3rd person still crashes.
The server needs to only allow 1st person in order not to cause the crash

Hi guys

I found some new information together with some other people about the online core.exe crash (the crash that happens after 1 lap or less). I think it is pretty important and might help mr Piboso to locate the problem.

In short: The core.exe crash online doesn't happen (so far after 5laps of testing on 3 different servers and tracks) when the server only allows 1st person mode. The core.exe always happens at max 1 lap on servers that do allow 3rd person.

Overview of the proces of the tests:
- "Sk4" (discord name) came with the information that he doesn't have the typical core.exe crash online when he was in the nafpra server. But he does have the crash after a lap on "any other" server. (any server he tried)
- It got me thinking that nafpra only allows 1st person and all other servers allow 3rd and 1st person.
- I got someone who also had the core.exe crash always online to try the nafpra server. It worked! No crash after 4-5 laps (10-15minutes) (moto3 at motegi V0.7).
- Then we went to test a different server that i asked to setup 1st person only. Also no crash for about 4 laps (than had a crash but was due to an unfinished track that caused the core.exe (castle comb v0.7 and gp125 class)
- Then we went to test another server just for 1st person (Teeds his server, on assen with moto2) no crash after 5 laps (10-15mintues)
- Then we went to test on teeds his other server "moto2 testing" which does allow 3rd person, game core.exe crash after half a lap (moto2 at aragon)

This leads me to believe that it has something to do with the server setting of allowing only 1st person or not.

I hope this is a huge help for you mister piboso as I think this is pretty valuable information.  ;D

Thanks damonboss and teeds for helping the tests.

have to say, i was guilty of that on victoria with first online session, just always went out of pits to the right. was only when on first online session that i realised i was going wrong way.
apologised in chat, but still felt like a dick.

Doing it unknowingly is not a bad thing :D everybody has got to learn it. Problem is that people do it intentionally and even sometimes don't care about other people on a good lap and they crash into them at the last corner...

this is the server list, if you want to see them in game you need the tracks they are using. If you want to play them you also need the bikes they are using and the tyres.

Bug Reports / Update on core.exe crash in online
April 05, 2018, 09:31:19 PM
Hey Mr Piboso

I was wondering if there is any update on the reason for the known core.exe crash after about 1 lap in online play?

Is there any progres being made?

Do you need help from people having the problem?

Anyway, just posting this in hope for an update on the topic. If nothing has been done about please still respond :D As it has been quiet for a while now surrounding this topic but many people still have this issue.

Thanks

Right was just doing laps on the R6 cup there and realised something, I can go just as fast on that which I presume isn't right.

The big thing that's holding me back on the Moto 2 bike seems to be the complete lack of slipper clutch and looking at videos some other people don't seem to have the same problem.
I'm using an xbox controller and an automatic clutch, when I horse into a corner and start banging down the gears the rear locks up and I end up over the highside

I can get around it to a degree by just downshifting in stages as the bike slows down but I still get the feeling that managing that is pushing the bike further into the corner taking me away from the apex.

So just wondering, how do people manage the clutch for downshifts?

Cheers!

Delay downshifts, if the braking zones are long you can downshift a couple of gears and slide it in and then at the end before the apex drop the last gear.
If the braking zone is shorter or not straight, just try to keep the rear inline without sliding by downshifting slower. Maybe even throttleblip if you feel like it.
Also you can brake very hard with the front brake so the bike doesn't run wide on brakes as much.

But the R6 cup bike isnt much slower than the moto2 bike. Like 2 seconds i think.

Well I would that from now on any racer who joins a race, even in the qualification, he shouldn't be allowed to join the 2nd one. But it's your choice

This will be implemented but there was no actual writen rule that this wasn't allowed although its common sence.

Don't worry, next championship will be better regulated than this.

Good start, was chasing Rodrigo(who's pretty much my arch rival and has been for years ;D ) and we'd managed to avoid the flying bikes through the first couple of turns.
...then got taken out near the end of the first lap  :( by someone who instantly quit before his dust had even settled.  >:(
...then apparently came back for another shot at it in the second race.   ???

I'm generally pretty forgiving but this one's pissed me right off.  Probably wouldn't have made any difference to my final standings but that's not the point - the point is that that folk shouldn't be treating the early race as a practice start - if you take part early and screw up - tough luck - you should stick with it and finish - not quit and try again later.

On a positive note - was nice racing Hockenheim.  I generally don't get on well with tracks full of hairpins but this place is a blast.   :)

Didn't notice this, glad you mentioned it. Only 1 participation is allowed per race weekend. Was it Santi-rrin? He is the only player I see that participated in both races, i didn't see that before.

Edit: here's the video from my pov, no sound from the bikes, will fix it for the next one. hf! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1X9FGVAsyU

Hes looking for the full ingame replay file. I have it but i didn't wait untill the last guy crossed the finish line and now its not usable for the race analysis thingy that Olaf has made :/

We will continue 3 more races, then its time for another championship that is a bit better organised and setup. So that racing is better and more enjoyable  ;D
