Schematics for almost all parts are nearly finished, so all the parts from external fabricators will soon be ordered!
The technical documentation took way longer than I expected..

Turn off driver aids under 'simulation' in settings. Auto clutch works

Today I ordered 40kgs of aluminium extrusion profiles!
At least some of the assembly will be able to start soon!  :D

It is my thesis, me and a friend are doing it together. I'm glad I didn't try to do all this alone.

Looks great!
Will you use hydraulics for foot brake too?

The structure and geometry seems to be taking its final form. Now we are working on the separate components making them manufacturable. Starting to feel the pressure of getting everything ready so we can start assembly in time!

You cannot see attachments on this board.

Lots of CAD work going on. Lots of simulations have to be done in order to make sure the weight is kept as low as possible.

This is one of the early candidates for the upper platform.

I haven't used VR with motion, but for me I get more affected playing games where there should be motion, like rally jumps, and there is no motion.
In gp-bikes I have no issues at all, it kind of makes sense motion-wise just sitting on a chair. Mx-bikes is a bit tough though.

Even with a very quick setup, the new rumble is excellent. Communicates very nicely.

Never mind what the virtual rider is doing. He is on top of shit. (And when he isn't, there's nothing you can do about it anyway)
Push left to go left. Push right to go right.

Try setting deadzone to 0 and go from there. You're usually not releasing the stick even when on the straights anyway. The direct lean slider is kind of a sensitivity slider and kind of not.
Linearity is that yes, you move your resolution sweet spot around.
Hope you get it to the way you want it!

It can be a bit confusing yeah.
If you use rider tracking your headset will control rider lean, not bike lean.

The virtual rider controls the steer angle. To use countersteering you will need to use a force feedback unit and enable directsteer.

I'm not sure what you expect the game to do. Have you played any other bike game?

Lean is steering

Maybe you need to calibrate your controller? Shouldn't be necessary with an Xbox controller, but it sounds like something is off. Just click calibration and move all the axes to their max.

It's the 'lean' settings you want to change. It is the steering.
20% deadzone sounds like a lot, try something like 5%.

Nice! Let me know if you want to bounce loadcell ideas.

The printing really opens up possibilities otherwise only possible with quite advanced fabrication methods. Do it!

I had the same progress when I borrowed a Vive and later got a Quest2. Now my computer is still old but upgraded to the point of melting, would probably have been cheaper just to get a new one 😆.

I have never really gotten any good at driving. I'm hoping to make the controller close enough to reality that I can use my irl riding experience instead. 😄

The project has started, with all the theoretical stuff a bachelors thesis is based on. If our time plan holds (not sure why it would) we start building in a month or so.
