Hi everyone,

As I said in an other post (DS2 users) I received the t300rs yesterday and the feeling is AWESOME !!!!! I think this is the best way to simulate real motorbike behavior for me. The feeling to sens the wobble and dribbling on the front side is awesome, it is exactly as Marcel shows in his vieo, the game react exactly 1:1 with my steer angle/wheel rotation. I can exit pit easier than the G25 (without crashing) I can do full lap without crashing. For now I did not attached yet the handlebar on it so when everything will be plug it will be very cool for sure and the best experience with bike sim  for now. I still try to design my fix sit up rig in order to be as compact as possible but with real size too ^^ so When I receive the quick release adapter I will mount it with my hanldbars and the adventure can begin :)

SO yes it is posible to have great feeling in DS2/DSA with a FFb wheel (for me it is the simplest way to have full feeling on a bike sim) and if the rig can lean as real will be awesome (but this will be for another time)

I will post pictures of the rig design and wheel/handlebars system later.

I filled the brake fluid yesterday, and the feeling is good with the breka lever but I found that the range it is not as expected, not very linear...but I will try to adpat that later when the full rig will be built.

Can't wait to see it running on VR :)

Hi everyone,

Juts to let you know that I receive my T300rs yesterday and this is a WHOLE NEW WORLD with DSA/DS2 everything seems easier than with my G25, I put FFB at 25% because it is too brutal ^^ and the feeling is awesome, I can exit the pit at low speed without difficulties, make a lap without crashing(not the best time but start to sens feel the balancing of the bike and for now I did not attached my handlebar on it so when eveything will be complete I think it will be awesome, I have the same feeling than Marcel show on his video. React exactly 1:1 with maxangle torque = 50 and t300rs set to 50° max in the panel. The game change a lot now. I can't wait to start welding my rig to put eveything on it.

Intersting post :) Yes the steering angle is the steering of the handle bars but as the axis of handlebars is the only pivot, it gave also the angle  of the rear tyre compare to the front tyre, So in certain case we can know the value of the slide by this variable but it is not "real" but maybe can give a good feeling I did not test it yet but trying to think about all possible way to have yaw movement under heavy braking or or power slide in turn...

We will have more solutions in more brains.

I really like this thread :)

I am totaly agree with HornetMax, I think FFb wheel must be only use with DSA/DS2 mode, as Marcel shown it on his video (and I can't wait to see his final rig), I am making same thing with T300rs, hope it will be enough precision and FFB on this base to have good feeling. I am using VR so Assuming that Virtual rider will be ok right ? Because the virtual rider will be dictate by my headset position even on Ds2 mode, am I right ?

For Chris_Beeves, Yes I do that too with Mugello, I don't know why, but when I start, the virtual rider is not center, a little bit on the right, so the bke tend to fall on the right (even with automatic virtual rider), So I need to balance on the left but at slow speed the bike react not very well (cbr 600 rr for exemple) then shake...and fall..again..and again...So yest I hit the pit wall and pray that I reset on straight line. Do the job for now.

That's why I am waiting to received my T300rs unit and make a quick rig to test DSA before making a full steel rig, just to be sure that will be usefull (and fun too, because that's still the main goal) Hope that the T300rs FFB feedback will be a little bit better... in order to acheive to make one turn whithout crashing. Is it me or just exiting pit is incredibly difficult in direct steer mode ?

When I will receive the t300rs I will start  to use DSA (for now with ;y G25 it is complicated and I did not make yet the rig. so with the right position it will be better I think.

so, for me DSA but give me almost 2 years to drive well I think ^^

Hi D4rw1n, this week I will try to see some footage video with the processing results and check if I can find some ways to find a good variable for the rear loss (especialy under full braking load) we need to continue in this way. I will try to give a go to the sketchup module with simtools if I can find a way to make it works. because this will give us real time movement of the futur rig.
and that will be cool too :)

oui c'est beaucoup plus simple et sain car la avec le FFB il y a aura des efforts, en plus au tour c'est super simple a faire , ensuite un coup d'usinage pour la rainure de clavette et c'est fait.

Hi,

The best way is t make a CNC part or at least use a 3D printer as almost the same thing than a quickrelease T300rs. then you can use real handlebar mount, I am not sure that I am clear^^

yeah :) Can't wait to see !

Hi Guys, If I have some time this weekend I will start t make a post for my rig. But honestly it is pretty simple, furthermore with the leobodnard you don't have to code anything. for the analog I choose easy way cause I did not have 3D printer ...

For the throttle I use a 0-5V throttle from e-bike parts : http://evcomponents.com/ebike-parts/wuxing-ltx-ebike-throttle.html (not exactly this one but it's almost the same) just pay attention than you need 22mm trhottle in order to use a real handlebar)

For the clutch, front break and rear brake (not clutch at this time I am waiting to check everything else before buying a complete set for the clutch) I use cheap chinese set of hydraulic lever on Aliexpress, than transducer (500 and 1000psi) in order to traanform the pressure apply to a signal between 0-5V. Here again, just plug everythign and that's it. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Motobike-Racing-bike-lever-handle-bar-brake-pump-hydraulic-clutch-set-kit-17-5-piston-cylinder/32718100514.html

and for the pressure transducer : https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-Steel-Pressure-transducer-sender-for-oil-fuel-air-water-100psi-2500psi-/172780141579

for the buttons, just use simple on/off contact or motorbike contact set and plug in directly to the leobodnard.

For the gear shift, I need to finish this one. I use real motorbike shifter from China (same set than the rear brake with master cylinder and pressure transudcer), I think I will use 2 buttons and put a screw next to each one in order to be sure that it will be the screw to stop the foot peg and not the button to avoid breaking it.

So for now I have every parts, I have use a cbr 600 rr template on Solidworks in order to draw my "chassis" with exact same dimension than a real one bike and I use direct steering with angle in order to be as real as it can. hope it will work :)

and if eveything is perfect I will try to use a 2DOF air sim balance system in order to add real lean thanks to GPbikes data ouptut. but I am no there yet. Hope it can help.

Even is the leabodnard is a bit pricey (around 60 euros) it is very easy to use, no driver, just plug eveything at the right place, put the usb and that's it.

Totally agree with Chris_Beeves :)

HI, Good to know about your come back :) I am new too but hey that's still cool :) I am waiting my T300rs (should arrive tomorrow) So yes it is possible to mount a full control handlebar on a quick release HUB for t500/300rs. I made my hanld bar with electronic throttle (0-5V from scotter parts) break and clutc with real hydraulic set on Aliexpress (around 30 euros) and everthing is mounted on a real handlbar from china too( I used straight bar that I bend a little bit to have same angle from my 600 CBR) I will post all picture of the project when I am done. And for buttons etc I use the leobodnard that DD suggested to me and it is very simple. So yes you can use your t500 base to put with the quick release a full handlbar controller (as for the break or rear brake You can use real part or do as @Chris_Beeves said go to the mixed reality sim channel and check how Marcel have done with his fanatec pedal and to the same with Thrustmaster pedals.

I don't think it is quite difficult , it depends how much you want to put and how many details you want to put in there.

For me I will try to use DSA mode so my handlebar will be a little bit higher than the axis of the base cause I want to have same "deport" than my real bike^^ but the pendulum system of DD is great if you jste want to use FFB in normal mode.

If you have questions feel free to ask, I will be happy to help.

I can't wait to receive my T300rs !!!!!

When I will do first tests I will post pics of the rig.

Custom hardware / Re: incredible mixed reality video

Hi evryone,

On my Rig I will use a quick release on a T300rs, for now I made some test on my G25 but the FFB is way too horrible to control the M2 properly right away. so I need to learn how to use DSA to drive smoothly and not crashing each turn or even in a straight line...at low speed is very difficult ... but For now I put my handlebars with full commands on the G25 and I do not finish the chassis so the position is a little bit tricky so it won't help to have good feeling on the bike so I will finish my chassis first or at least something to put the right commands on the right place and start my tests and my learning on the DSA mode. Then when I WIll have the money, I will buy the t300rs to have better FFB abd better deadzone in order to have better feelings I Hope...

I am riding bike for 5 years everyday (cbr 600 rr) not on track yet but I would like to have same feeling on the sim than my relabike (not all of course but at least the steering and this video makes me feel that it is almost possible.

Thanks for the explaination :) All those words seems from another world to me but I will look into it and try to understand well the concept. SO the easier way is to add a ethernet shield to my arduino, right ? Because If I understood well  the data transfer will be slower (lower amount of data possible..)  due to the restriction of the adruino serial port ? Thanks again for your time. I am a mechanical guy..I dot not use a lot arduino and programation... but I will look into it and try to understand better.
