But I agree, the runaway bike issue does need sorting, but certainly not at the expense of bikes respawning on track in front of other riders during a race surely?
In my opinion the bike should always reset on its current location after holding the reset button for 3 seconds facing in the direction of the track. This would solve the runaway bike problem and would not cause any more 'on track' spawns than in the current system. During a race it just sucks if your bike resets facing a barrier and you would have to walk backwards first. One crash could easily cost you 20+ sec which means race over. When a reset always keeps you facing in the direction of the track, the luck factor becomes smaller and crashes would cost everyone roughly the same amount of time. Dont want a similar situation as in old betas where some people could reset instantly and some had to wait 20 sec for the whole field to pass by.

From a fast test, the impression is that is far better than lasts betas. The suspensions seems to work better on bumps, feels softer. Also the problems with up/down hill seems fixed! Great to have a more realistic reposition after a fall (some tracks must to be tweaking :) ) Is nice to have 2 rider styles, and the POV is diferent on each one.
Thank you, looks like a big step. Now multiplayer?  :)
I totally agree, did a first few laps with the murasama, bike feels more confident through corners and havent had any weird physics bugs on Victoria yet. Like the rider reset off track but it should always be reset in the direction of the track facing in the right direction. Resetting the bike in the direction that if stopped moving could spell drama in races where you would have to turn on track with possible riders incomming.

So as far as i am concerned (and can judge by a few laps) the physics seem greatly improved, fixing multiplayer should be next (and only) thing on your checklist before a version 1

Ok thanks piboso.

@piboso

When do you expect us to see some improvements that are netcode related. Thought this was going to have one of the highest priorities aside from finishing KRP.

Looks nice! Just dont like the amount of custom parts they use in Lego nowadays. Back in the day all blocks were pretty generic and usable for building other things as well, didnt look as good but at least there was more room f9r creativity.

And if it's possible for you, try to participate to Steam sales. Selling your work for 50% of its usual value may be difficult to accept, but you'll probably sell more than 2 times more licenses during this period.
Yeah in general thats a good idea but dont know if that works the same with a relatively small group of potential buyers. Dont want to discount the game for people that were willing to pay the full price but just hadnt discovered the game yet. Discounting i think is more a meassure to drag those people over the line that already were aware of the product but did not have the money or thought it wasnt worth the full price to them. And to not screw over the customers that paid the full price piboso cannot start discounting within at least a 6 month period after product release. By that time its probably clear whether KRP is succesful or not. But i agree its a very good way to create awareness off the product since i am usually only checking the discounted items and bought games there that i wouldnt have found/tried otherwise.

Good luck with this Piboso. Happy you give steam a proper chance to launch your products. I think it will drastically increase your visibility and accessability to new customers and thats what a niche product like this needs.

Two questions though:
1. If KRP happens to do really well on Steam, do you expect your other products to be released on Steam sooner or later than planned initially. This with regards to that maintaining/improving KRP may require more of your time as there may be a large group of customers demanding it? Having a malfunctioning product on steam is something you should try to avoid at all cost and frequent bugfixes may be some of a neccesity.

2. How do you manage legacy licenses through steam? If we already have a license we just keep using standalone downloads from your website and if we want to use steam we buy a new license there?

General Discussion / Re: Kart Racing Pro greenlight

I am really curious to see how GPbikes will do if Piboso ever decides to put it on greenlight. There is virtually no competition for this game as it is the only real motorcycle racing simulator. Altough kart or car racing may attract a bigger audience the competition is not sitting still and in both genres i know at least a few good alternatives.

Wish Piboso put GPB on this stuff ...

MaX.
Got my vote for that. GPB needs some funding so that Piboso can hire some employees to get things done. Doing all these projects in the spare hours he has got is just not going to work. But since piboso is probably the only one who has any clue on how his code hangs together I doubt whether any other person would be up to the task of fixing this.

Tracks / Re: [GPBikes][WIP] Ulster GP

Yeah me too, when i play gpbikes nowadays it is usually on this track. By far the most challenging to ride as far as I know. Some graphical updates and fixing some small bugs/sinkholes would make this one legendary  :D

General Discussion / Re: Youtube - monetization policy
October 02, 2014, 08:15:26 PM
I guess there is no real policy, if you manage to get more than a few thousand views you are doing a good job. I guess Piboso wouldn't mind the few cents that you earn with that. A few thousand views on a single video isn't going to earn you a lot of money, but for Piboso, a few thousand potential customers is always welcome.

So in short, do it because you like to do it, do it for the game or Piboso, but doing it (only) for the money isn't probably worth it.
