FWIW I did some digging and here's my conclusions.

More steering lock and ratio options would be nice.  I'm at 55 now and it feels nice, and looks about right from what I can gather in google images.  Also stiffer springs really help.  I don't know what guys are actually using on their cars, but our current 300in/lb max seems pretty low.  I have no real world experience, but if they make an 1100lb/in bar shouldn't we have the option in game?  The car was a lot less erratic when I upped the max to even 500in/lb springs.

I was getting a lot of core crashes when weight would transfer to the left rear if I exited the corner erratically.  Obviously I never got a chance to see, but it was almost like the LR tire was going through the track and causing a crash, or maybe the suspension load just got too great and caused it to crash.  It's pretty repeatable for myself, I can try to live capture one if you think it would help.

I'm glad I sat down and got to know these cars a little better tonight, I can definitely see the light now.  Keep up the good work!

The latest iteration of MX Bikes doesn't look to be too far off.  He was able to teach his magic rider to back the back into the corner seemingly much better, but he is still clueless about power sliding.  I have no doubt he can be taught, but we're not quite there yet from the looks of the videos PiBoSo has been posting.  We can dream though!

On a sort of related though, the 3rd annual superprestigio dirt track is this weekend.  Live on Fanschoice.tv on Saturday.

What do you expect to accomplish by being an obnoxious jerk to him?

Closing a line of communication?  Stopping the daily development updates?  I can't really see any other result with your approach.

Best way I've found to learn stuff...

Pick a tutorial, follow it step by step.  Have it look like crap, nothing at all like the example.  Start again from scratch, have it look slightly better.  Start again from scratch....  Repeat until it looks like the example.

I know it's not pretty, or fun.  But it works.

What's up with the RX car feeling like its dominated by the front wheels?  I can get it sideways but as soon as I hit the gas it's basically a front wheel drive car. Diff settings?

Unless you get it really sideways, then it just accelerates sideways, meaning it seems to speed up its lateral speed, and not forwards at all. It's really awkward. That and the car will slide back and forth laterally if you slide to a stop sideways.

Don't dare tip the sprint car on its side if you have a FFB wheel. I think it tries to tip itself back up. But it just pulls itself around on its side. If my wheel wasnt shaking itself to death I'd probably laugh at it. The best way I found to drive it was to go into the corners gently and then hold it WFO with the wheels full lock to the right and then just modulate the throttle a little bit on corner exit to get it to come back. It didn't feel realistic at all, I think I felt the front wheels flopping when I got near full lock, which seemed to transfer enough weight to an important place that the car will just hold itself in a steady slide no matter what.

I made a 2wd RX car, it's fun, but I thought it would be easier to slide, especially on throttle accelerating off of corners, it's not. It feels alright sliding into the corners, a lot like the AWD version, you need to balance it and keep the rear end from swapping ends. Maybe a little too touchy, will have to check into the weight distribution to know for sure. But on the throttle it spins way too quick, it doesn't matter how quick the tire is spinning in comparison to the ground you shouldn't lose all lateral traction like you do. I took a look at the tire files, but couldn't find any explanation of the gibberish at the top. I have a feeling with the other odd behavior it's the tires, but it could be a lack of inertia too. It's time like this I wish I were an engineer so I could be of more help.

All in all the tire model needs some serious work. Hopefully you can get it nailed down, because with your terrain deformation and dynamic track there's a huge untapped market out there begging for a game that does such a nice job of simulating dirt tracks/surfaces.

No, I've been around here much longer than MX Bikes, like since the beginning.  Just always kept to myself.  But I am an MX Sim guy too.

Yea, the first one was me realizing after I built everything that I was 10-15% under scale.  So you should beat yourself pretty easily in the game.  This is what spurred me to double check my work, otherwise I'm not a fan of beta's, they really muddy the waters.... But just to be sure I figured what the heck.  Then I found out there is LIDAR data for the area the track is in today too.  So yea, time to start over. LOL.

There really needs to be a track editing forum here, I have so many questions and no place to ask them.  Unless I want to register for another forum...  I mean I play KRP too, but holy crap that forum is filled with conceded cry babies, I don't think they would like me at all.  LOL.

First track here, just wanted to make sure there are no more major issues I can't fix at this point. 

If you see any issues please point them out, I'd like to get them fixed.  I know the trees are terrible, not sure where I went wrong with them, but I'm not interested in redoing those bastards!  :P  If you know where I went wrong speak up and I will worry about those next time..  Tell me where it sucks everywhere else though. :)

No, that's not me. Flat Track Live's picture of Brad Baker on Thursday.  But yea, he didn't lose the front.  There's video of it on their page as well, along with much more US-centric coverage of the event

I had a good time watching the race today, constant action, but that gate start has to go.  Marquez and all the Europeans seem to have really stepped up their game over the past year.  They still have a very different riding, style, but it seems to get the job done just the same.  Hope this event keeps growing, and that Nicky Hayden is healthy enough to make it next year! :)

Are you saving them with an alpha channel?  AFAIK they won't receive shadows if they have an alpha channel.
