Ok, I did a 7:38.89 (full lap) / 7:15 (BTG) on the 1000.
I am still not happy with the lap because I made a lot of mistakes early on and didn't go fast enough at the end.
Anyway, here is the replay file.
I will also upload the video but that may take a while :D

I still enjoy riding the 500 a lot more :D

There are a lot more corners that are extremely bumpy. You really have to be careful with how much you lean and which line you choose.

If you download and watch the replay you will see that I lost the front a couple of times for no reason.

Maybe it is easier to convert the Nordschleife from rFactor.

Have I missed something? I thought the smoothened track was not yet released.

I actually meant 20 seconds faster compared to the 500 lap.

The wheelies are not really the problem (that is the same on every track if you don't use wheelie assist), the problem is that the bike often simply falls over because you hit some invisible bump in the track.

The real life record is 7:10 BTG on a R1 :D

I think it's possible to go about 20 seconds faster with the 500, especially once the track has been smoothened.
Sorry for the quality but the upload took five hours already :(
Here is the replay.

YZR 500, awesome :D
If you need information about the YZR, you should contact Alex Arletti. He builds YZR 500 replicas with his own 500cc V4 engine.

If you want it that realistic, you need a proper bike controller.
I say, use the setup you can ride with the best. After all, it is a game.
Plus, in that setup you can't revmatch while braking and you can't use manual lean.

After playing with the 990 again, I have to say that you are right, the lean angles are correct and in my opinion the bikes don't wheelie too quick.
The top speed could be a little higher (at least on new bikes like the GP12).
Still, I think that the 500 is too hard to flick.
You are right with the tyres, if you watch any motorcycle race, they are sliding the rear tyre out of every corner, in GPB it's impossible to do.

At least the 500s don't wheelie too quick.
Even my RGV 250 still comes up in 2nd if you're not careful. The 500s have three times the amount of power and weigh 20 kg less.

Judging from my RGV 250 I can also say, that the 500s are too hard to flick. When you watch the Qatar race, even the MotoGP bikes flick faster.

I agree, at least on the newer GP prototypes (Ducati GP12), the largest possible lean angle is too small.

And the 500s are way too hard to flick from one side to the other. A 500 GP bike weighs 130 kg with fuel and with the V4's counter-rotating crankshafts, the gyroscopic effects are almost non present compared to superbikes.

I use the right stick for leaning.

I use almost the same setup as Klax does (almost same button layout, everything manual, helmet view, no rider aids).

But as I said somewhere else, two additional triggers would be required to properly control the bike because you can't revmatch-downshift while trail braking.
Also you can't really use the rear brake while cornering with that setup, which is one of the only times I would use it.

Good looking bike!

But the sound is horrible.

Could someone upload a replay of one of those sub-40 laps?
I am currently stuck at 43.

Yes, I use manual lean.
I don't mean 4 analog sticks, I mean two analog sticks and 4 triggers plus 2 buttons on the back of the pad.
So imagine a normal 360 pad but with LB and RB being analog triggers. There would be two more buttons located on the back of the pad which you would press with your ring fingers.

Does anyone know if there is a gamepad with four analog triggers instead of the usual two?
Currently I have to put the clutch on the steering stick, which is a real problem when you want to revmatch-downshift while trail braking.
