Support / GP Bikes doesn't start
November 02, 2015, 10:21:44 PM
Hi. I've tried to find the same problem in the forum but I've found nothing similar.

I'm running Windows 10 x64 with the lastest Nvidia drivers. For more info I have a GTX 970, a Logitech G25, a Thrustmaster Hotas-X and some Saitek products connected.

I've also tried with administrator permissions and compatibility mode.

When I run GP Bikes it does absolutely nothing, also no error windows.

Any advice?

Off Topic / html quick uploading and sharing
May 27, 2014, 01:33:53 AM
Yes, it sounds really stupid but I don't want to make a register on a free hosting site or something else. I'm curious if there is any web solution like that web for share txt files, google docs or something else. I'm making a specific manuals but these are not a web itself, it is like a more complex readme file. I thought on make it PDF but I find html better for the porpuse.

I've tried google docs, but it only shows the html code. Do you guys know something similar of what I'm looking for?

Bug Reports / CTD after bike crash
April 24, 2014, 03:39:10 PM
It happens specially in the track I'm actually working in. Sometimes, not always, when I crash and the bike falls, GP Bikes freezes and an error window is displayed. I press "OK" and then another error window appears. Here are two pics of the two error messages:

First error message

Second error message

And the Windows 7 app crash message

Tracks / [beta] A-7000 Road
April 23, 2014, 03:04:08 PM
Hi! I'ts me again ;D

The A-7000 road, or better known as "Camino de Colmenar", is a 7.3km real country road located in a mountain range of Málaga, Spain. It is also part of a beautiful natural reserve about 12km from my home. This road has been used for rally events for several years and some petrolheads used to cruise it; let's call it the "Mulholland Drive" of Málaga.

Beta download: Mediafire

Edit: Please, take in mind it is an early, early, early version of the mod. It could has some visual errors like trees with only one sided faces. As Piboso doesn't support timing for point-to-point tracks I've not registered the track in the official time boards. Have fun.

Some additional info of the route: Google Maps.
A video from a ride: Youtube

The track has been original made by liquido for Richard Burns Rally and later converted for rFactor. I've done a huge texture rework to improve the immersion feeling and be able to have a virtual ride, but I'm already awaiting to have permission from liquido to release. I must mention -and it is in sight- that it is plenty of armcos, ditchs, trees and close turns, so remember to ride happy and safe ;).

Support / Lap timing not working
April 19, 2014, 05:09:31 PM
As said in another posts, I'm actually working on a track. The main problem is that lap count works, but lap timing not, same for lap max speed. Heres an example (sorry about the spanish translation, but the context is clear):

The funny part is that experimenting with the ideal line feature I've imported a replay in TrackEd and it shows the lap times, so I don't know why them are not showing in the garaje menu.

I've followed the complete process of centerline and race data creation in the Track creation rules section. The centerline is properly created, closed and merged. About the race data, it has accurately configured too, I've also added a good place for the speed trap and I've created checkpoints too.

I've spent like three days trying to figure out what is happening, but I've not found any cause. I post this in the support section because I've followed the pipeline of track creation and seems that something is not properly working.

Bug Reports / TrackEd crash and shader problems
April 19, 2014, 01:27:15 PM
I'm actually working on a track and I wanted to add it envmaps. At first time I thought that I was implementing them the wrong way, but seems that envmaps+bumpmaps make the TrackEd to crash.

Also I've noticed that some specular maps make some textures to look weird when them have an alpha channel assigned, causing the black alpha channel part to look not entirely transparent. Of course I've make sure to add black color to the RGB and alpha channels, but it still looks not entirely transparent, it shows a white silhouette.

Tracks / [RELEASED] Tsukuba Circuit v1.2
April 18, 2014, 01:07:22 AM
My first addition to this fantastic sim (WRS too). Credits goes to Polar Blue 21 for create my favourite track from scratch and zwiss for the huge rework done on the track. Special thanks to zwiss for give me permission to convert and share it here.

I've chosen this track because it's a short layout to make a first conversion testing and is my favourite track to test mods so far, so expect more coming soon.

Suggestions and wishlist / Mod request thread
April 17, 2014, 12:22:14 PM
I come from other forums about modding, specially where modders reunite to share them works (me incluide). Them are fantastic except for one problem: there are more request thread than releases. This is starting to be annoying, specially because some users create accounts to leave only a single post to request stuff causing lot of forum flood. Some modders are starting to feel like some forums are fast-food places: enter, leave a single post requesting stuff and don't contribute anymore.

As I'm loving this community I wouldn't like to see it spoiled with this problem. I think that adding a special thread or subforum would be better to don't have request flooding, all would be arranged and not messy. Everyone is free to request a favourite bike, but not annoying  ;)

Regards.

General Discussion / WRS impressions and MODS
April 10, 2014, 12:36:59 AM
Before I continue with the post content I want to congratulate PiBoSo for his huge amount of work and give some of my impressions.

Mate, are you a human? are you a z reticuli alien camouflaged between humans? now seriously, how do you manage to work on FOUR simulators at the same time and make all of them to be almost perfect? again I take my hat off in front of you and I show all my respect.

After coming from sims like Live for Speed, rFactor, GTR, rFactor 2, GTR2, Netkar Pro, Project CARS and now rFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa; WRS feels like a really solid simulator. The FFB works really well (I must keep experimenting with it), the car weight and inertia feels accurate too, springs, dampers, brakes, all barely perfect. As said the feelings are pretty good, reminds me a bit to the old LFS maybe, not sure.
In your overall sims I can see how the car and the track has some special and detailed elements, like the 3D marshals working well, the dirty tires taking the grass pattern while rolling on the grass, the animated foot and hands of the driver, the 3D grass, etc. All of these are next-gen sim alike details, you only need a realtime deformation of tires and you will have a complete featured sim.

Bravo PiBoSo! You really have distracted my attention from rFactor and rF2 to keep my eyes on this little forum waiting for updates and hoping to been listened by you on our suggestions. I honestly wish you the best with this projects. World Racing Series seems to be a really good simulator, specially with well done mods. I'm expecting the next releases.

I'm also waiting to be able to modding WRS and see how the physics system works to play with different parameters, etc. in that moment I should make a better review as I know the physics system.
I really can't wait to try the incoming Caterham, looks like a fun street car, but I think I could add more cars after, like a Ferrari F40 and a VW Golf GTI Mk2 to test your physics engine, maybe it could be interesting to you to know how your physics engine works in real time with my values (I always work with real data).

About the "Mods" menu in the main window of GP Bikes and WRS. Could be this possible?

Yes, cars and bikes running together, a dream from a longtime ago.

Regards.

Suggestions and wishlist / Steering look
April 09, 2014, 02:05:48 PM
I know there's already implemented a predictable turning look like look to apex, but I think it could be a good option to have an steering look option like in LFS or SimBin sims. Just adding the option as a slider to select how much degrees you want to turn the view while steering could be nice.

Could this be implemented, please?

General Discussion / New here
April 02, 2014, 01:19:40 AM
Hi all! I'm David from Spain. I have not much experience with bikes, in fact I'm more fan of cars while my girlfriend is the bike fan in home! so we have some dissapointment when we go outside and must choose between my car or her bike  ;D

Anyway I have been playing sims since GTR1; I've played GTR2, LFS and mostly rFactor and now rFactor 2. I also actively participate in the rFactor modding scene since one year, specialy with physics development. Now GP Bikes has my totally attention and I must congratulate to GP Bikes modders, honestly, good job guys!

I've followed PiBoSo trail since the first GP Bikes published alpha and with the last beta4 it has turned my favourite sim so far! now I've become a totally bike fan. I've only driven few bikes in real life and I'm not sure of how close is this sim in term of physics with real life, but the feeling is absolutely addictive, I can't stop playing and now I'm understanding how the cornering works with bikes, it is really fun!

Congratulations PiBoSO and a big thanks for this great sim, I encourage to you to keep developing this jewel and I should say the very first good bike sim ever. Good job!

Regards.

Suggestions and wishlist / Minimum FOV
April 02, 2014, 01:07:40 AM
I wonder if it could be possible or planified to add a lower value for the minimum field of view. I think 20 FOV could be a good minimum field of view value for users with 19" monitors who want to have a realistic FOV experience.

Edit: for those who are curious, I've found a way to get a lower FOV value. Yoy need to change your profiler.ini file in "...Documents\PiBoSo\GP Bikes\profiles\your-user-name"

[view]
fov=60.000000

Change 60.00... for a lower value and it's done.
