Custom hardware / Re: Test GPBikes in a big simulateur
September 04, 2017, 03:00:58 AM
Fancy that, a full motion simulator that works... despite being told over and over and over and over that it's a danger, and it doesn't work, and it's been tried.... fuck sake.  ::)

Back to lurking again.  :-X

Look at Daily dev, He spent month working on KRP, he just released beta12, DD, Mike and Matt were at silverstone, they are new bugs coming with the last update, we have a lot of wishes and suggestion etc...
He spent 3 days working on : "MXB: work on the physics"

What's wrong with that?  :-\
What would you like to see instead?

I personally remember that work on one sim provides for all titles. There is nothing wrong with working on MXB physics. That particular title could really reward the dev team in the long run if it rounds out to what it looks like it'll end up as. What is good for KRP, WRS, and GPB, is for sure, good for MXB, and you can put any of those into any order in how that is said and it makes sense. Any good for any title, is good for all of them. ;)

Injuries like this happen way too often when riders practice with supermoto or motocross.
I can't believe their teams don't forbid the riders from doing this in their spare time.

I guess we should ban them from bicycling too then? Seeing as we just lost Hayden to that recently.

May as well just bubble wrap them and only take them out of the package for the race day....  ::)

People with your way of thinking seem to believe to some capacity or another, that MotoGP racers are coin operated dolls that they just wind up and send off for our entertainment. They are passionate about motorcycles, they are passionate about riding, and to restrict anything they enjoy about it would make their job as miserable as a cubicle gig in a high rise office building. Unless it's my money paying their checks, they can do whatever they want in the offseason if it helps them be better when it comes time to pull on the leathers and do the job they are paid to do.

Thanks for the info. I figured if I can get a decent idea of how the tire model works when things are changed in GPB it won't be too far away to change something on MXB and possibly get it a little more consistent sliding sideways around an oval dirt track.

I was just thinking to myself today, as I was working, that I should really experiment more with the tire files and suspension types of GP and MX Bikes. Piboso added a multitude of options for suspension, and I am really interested in how the tires are effected, and "rigid" suspension, since it is now possible, would really bring out the changes in the tire files... and then I discover your wonderful tool for modifying the tires properly.

I've got a limited understanding of the magic formula, back in the days of Dolphinity Racer by Ruud van Gaal, I had played around with tire slip and grip with the Pacejka. I'm pretty much oblivious to what it all is, but visualizing it via MaxTyre is incredibly convenient to understand the changes and effects.

A huge thank you, I'm going to start experimenting tomorrow morning with a cup of coffee and a fresh mind. I really want a flat track racing setup on MX Bikes.

Tracks / Re: I will pay you to make my home track.

Hi guys,

I am the original author of this track for Assetto Corsa.  This conversion is not endorsed or authorised by me in any way and is simply stolen works.  The original project page can be found here: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/baskerville-raceway.3436/

Personally I don't find it very selfless to re-publish someones artistic blood sweat and tears and then ask to direct a donation to their choice of foundation.

This project took over 600 dedicated hours to produce the 3D environment, texture artwork, and static meshes (that long because I am not a professional in this field).  I have a donation link on my project page and have received approximately $60 AUD in contributions.. that works out to be just 10c an hour in pay.  Whilst I built the project for my own pleasure and to share with the Assetto Corsa community, if you're going to rip off my artwork the least you could do is provide some recognition and credit to the original author so that maybe they didn't feel like this whole gig is full of cheapskates and pirates.

Cheers,
Nick

Wow, that sucks.  :'(

I always credit the lack of "diversity" in motorsport by being the percentage of developed countries (very motorsport friendly) measured by majority race. Some of my favorite riders and drivers are not the average, quite a few really talented black riders in motorsport, Jason Britton (stunt rider) and James Stewart (motocross rider) both come to mind.

One of my old riding buddies was from a really rough part of Chicago, him and I couldn't be any more different from outward appearance, but we are like brothers. Motorsport evens the field and makes us all human at the end of it all, we are all taking a massive risk for a legendary thrill, once we pull on the leathers or the fire suit, don the gloves and helmet, and turn the key, it matters so much less what we look like. Just my thoughts on the whole thing... kinda got off topic a little there. Always fascinated by the human element of motorsport though.

Rickey Gadson is another black man with a high skill level on a bike too (and a supreme shit talker, some great footage of him back in the days before he was a pro sponsored rider)... if you haven't been to a drag strip down south in the USA on a weekend, you haven't seen how many black people are probably more into hot and fast bikes and cars than you can imagine. And those guys put down some serious money too, they aren't down there being foolish, they run some wicked organized events among themselves. Some tracks were trying to stop the betting because of the fights that would break out too. Wild times that'll likely never be repeated in a world like we have now.

I see far more diversity in motorsports at the grass roots level than I ever do in the pro ranks, and, like said, I figure it's just percentage of race in countries that nurture major motorsport discipline.

As the ancient guys said: Everything will pass  ;)

It really does. Only takes a little time.  :)

Couldn't sleep so I installed everything, took a ride on a '86 GSXR750 at Rossi's ranch track (didn't seem slippery at all), decided a supermoto on a rally track could be fun, and then grabbed a 955 Speed Triple on slicks and took a ride up Pikes Peak to ensure I got what I had came for. I wasn't let down (aside from the trash physics) when I got to see a motorcycle, on a video game, sweeping through apexes on the race to the clouds.

Thank you for all the hard work bringing an entire package of add ons with instruction on how to install it to us, it opens up the game quite a bit adding in a bunch of tracks.

My brother said he's dragging me out to PP this year, I've missed the last 3, told me it is time for me to experience this in person. (alot of really incredible cars are supposed to be there this year too)

Little gift — adds 39 tracks in Ride2
26 tracks from ValentinoRossi the game and 3*4 rally stages+PikePeaks from SebastienLoeb RallyEvo, also possible to use every bike on every track.

separated in three pieces: https://mega.nz/#F!kwl1STYI!RGVPREG5lKvyW52KHlgfCw

enjoy

This 13GB of tracks for Ride2 that Reactive uploaded... well, whenever I get to it. Been way too busy lately. About to head back to work... customer bike (ZX6R) needed almost everything adjusted and fixed, last bit to do today is a valve adjustment and carb sync, then it is paycheck time, and a weekend to finish customer bikes at MY shop. No rest for the wicked. lol (and my lady and I are separating after 3 years, haven't felt much like having any fun until that is passed, my heart really isn't in gaming right now  :-[ )

Had some time to download everything yesterday, but, I've got some heavy stuff going on in my personal life so I didn't get any time to install it. I'll give it a go later today and report back.  ;)

Internet went down at 11GB and ruined the download, attempted to fix it and Mega said my IP is at the bandwidth limit!!  >:(

I gave up and just purchased a 1 month "pro lite" account upgrade so I can let this download overnight and come back to it in the morning. I really, really want to ride Pikes Peak.  :'(

Thanks for making this available Reactive!  ;D

Wow... I don't spend nearly as much time with the sims I have, and when I do, I tend to gravitate to WRS and MX Bikes. I've been hoping to see a late model come to the community, and this project looks astonishing. Awesome work!  ;)

Do not want paying but I do know a charity that would welcome any donation.

Wow, that is the most honorable thing I've seen in a long time. After my dad was killed in a motorcycle crash, any and all donations that anyone wanted to give my family was re-routed to the "Motorcycle Safety Foundation" (it does North American motorcycle licensing) in his name. Thousands of dollars poured into the donation fund dedicated to the MSF. It was truly beautiful. Every single time I hear of someone going through the MSF basic riders course and achieving "class M" status on their drivers endorsement, it makes my heart sing to know that it came from people giving selflessly because someone else did something good for them.  :)
