Interesting question.. Not that I'm black but I have wondered this in the past..

Might not be the answer but definitely has to play a part. https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-percentage-of-black-people-in-the-world

I guess it's probably got something to do with cultural upbringing too.. Could also ask why there are so few from muslim, sikh, arab and other Indian cultures.

Is it something that could be considered after KRP, GPB, WRS and MXB are completed? Or would it be more of a ground up thing?

This isn't the one they laser scanned is it?.. If so did they get their laser scanner from FastTech? ;D

While you guys are ragging on the lean angle, I'm skeptical of leaning in / on these things. IRL leaning around a corner provides force directly away from the corner (centrifugal?).. Surely the only way to simulate that is to cut the physical lean angle in half without it feeling like you're hanging off a cliff for dear life around every corner..

Maybe try RC's pitbike? Its loads of fun especially on huge mx tracks like Glen Helen ;D

Is the shad prefix applicable here?

"To force an object as shadows receiver use the SHAD_ prefix"

Edit: must have missed you mention this above..

Sure you can probably chain it with other arguments like SHADDECAL, but I'm pretty sure TRK and WLL objects receive shadows no matter what..

I found another work around.. When you launch the game, at the splash screen you'll see the taskbar. Right click, choose 'settings', then click back on MXB/GPB. Once the splash screen goes away so will the taskbar.

Unfortunately a little bit of help won't get you very far. Thankfully there are some very helpful people here including myself that can offer advise.

My advise would be, if you don't want to pay out for a 3d package, download Blender and follow some beginners tutorials. There are great ones on YouTube.

Then when you understand the interface and controls, and how to manipulate meshes properly, start by searching for what you need to know to model a bike for a game.

Key places to start: Orthographic editing with reference background pictures, mirror modifier, and UV unwrapping, texturing.

Be prepared to start the same project again and again, the better you get, the more you'll want to go back and change what you did badly at the start.

And don't give up, be determined, the results are well worth the effort ;)

Good luck!

+1 to the outcome of this.. Well worth doing even if it takes a while.

How have you named / grouped the objects in blender?
When you're ready manu, would you mind sharing your method? I'd love to have a go at doing this for mxb ;)
No I think that's an integral part of any game or software, good stuff!

Well, as cheeky as it sounds I sometimes scale down my distant scenery lol.. Making it look smaller and further away combined with the in game FOV and it works surprisingly well ;D
I have no idea if GPB or MXB support mipmaps.. I would have thought from an optimisation point of view they should be supported, but if not I don't think using the option affects anything negatively.

It might be the winning formula though, I can do tests some time to see if not generating them offers the same result, but I'm not in a rush :)

Glad to help, but I wouldn't fancy the job of fixing a bunch of tracks! God knows how bad some of the tree textures are, the worse the problem the harder it is to fix. The tree textures I use were bigger than 2k before being scaled down so the quality is perfect.

Once I've finished the track I'm working on I'll be releasing a tree pack to the MXB Asset thread, since nobody has so far taken up the role of running one over here they will remain over there for now. I guess I could just copy and paste the post content into a thread over here but.. well.. I didn't want to :P

If an admin wants to sticky this, I'll gladly write out a proper tutorial with pictures. Someone just let me know :)
