Thx for the videos, that looks pretty square to me.

Now the question is: when you push the stick left, do you see it reaching the limit (i.e. the border of the square in the gpb screen or in the windows game controller screen) before it reaches the mechanical limit (i.e.  before the stick hits the round hole) ?

Yes, the stick moves a little bit more to the left/right, up/down after the blue dot reaches the sides of the square. I think it moves 1 millimeter or less.
Ouch, that's bad then.
This is what happens also on the xbone pad: after a while I realised it was really really annoying (especially when you're leaning fully on one side and you just want to pick up the bike a little: you move the stick a bit but nothing happens).

Now I see how xbcd can do the "full range" thiung without any calibration parameter :)
Done that way is probably OK for people playing RPG/FPS, but really for us.

There is other unofficiall pack of drivers which i posted somewhere on the forum. Will repost it here later. I am convinced that this are better than xbcd. Ofc it offers squere output. That was a problem for me also Max ;)

HI again, thought maybe some need controller software to test movement and adjust controllers in Windows so made a pack with most of them in it including Leo Bodnar set for his stuff. It has Joy2key, Motionjoy, Pinnical, XBCD, DXTweak 2, Poswdm, DIView, xbox360cemu and Leos stuff.

Something like this would be a proper solution (description here), but the explicit formula is very very annoying (elliptic integrals, ouch).

What I can do is something like this (look the 2nd row of graphs, how circles are transformed):
