Hmmm ... makes me wanna test GPB on my wife's MBP (i5, HD4000 1GB), but that would lead to immediate divorce ...

Thanks a Lot guys for this really helpfull and interesting informations. Did Not thought that a 4000hd will be enough.

the hd 4000 is really powerful even if it's an integrated gpu, and has great opengl support

An Nvidia chip is strongly recommended.

I agree. Hd4000 has one advantage (power consumption), but a separate gpu is wiser and more futureproof. A 650M or 750M does not seems terribly expensive (unless you buy apple, of course). On laptops of course Alby.

Max.

I've noticed that sometimes (I think it's after using the original bikes, but not sure yet) one of ati dll files crashes the game and it wont start untill I move the bikes folder from the gpbikes folder and start the game without it. Then everything works normal again.

I Use ATI HD6950 Graphics card with no problems at all. :)

GT740M 2GB Ram + i7 4700MQ @2,4Ghz/Turbo3,4Ghz + 4GB DDR3@ 1600
or
GT750M 4GB Ram + i5 4200U @1,6Ghz/Turbo2,6Ghz + 8GB DDR3@ 1333
Both Full HD 1920x1080

Which one??
Faster Graphic card or faster CPU?
Both @the same price.
Used for GPB, FIFA, Skyrim, CAD, inet, business use.

The first one, without hesitation ! The CPU is more than 2x more powerful : 7946 vs 3348 (http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html) ;)

You can always upgrade the RAM later if you need but 4Gb is already good for today.
Moreover, the difference between the 2 graphic cards is not very important (http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GT-750M-vs-GeForce-GT-740M)

Thank you neo  ;)

next choice:
GT740M 2GB Ram + i7 4700MQ @2,4Ghz/Turbo3,4Ghz + 4GB DDR3@ 1600
or
GT750M 2GB Ram + i5 4200M @2,5Ghz/Turbo3,1Ghz + 4GB DDR3@ 1600
or
GTX760M "GB Ram + i5 4200M @2,5Ghz/Turbo3,1Ghz + 4GB DDR3@ 1600

Still the GT740M and i7?? Isn´t the 740 the bottleneck?

You still have a big gap in term of performance between the i5 (http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i5-4200M+%40+2.50GHz&id=2016) and the i7 (http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-4700MQ+%40+2.40GHz&id=1923).
The i5 base frequency is 2.5Ghz but is Boost frequency is 3.1Ghz. It has 2 real cores (+2 logical)
The i7 base frequency is 2.4Ghz but is Boost frequency is 3.3Ghz. Moreover, it has 4 real cores (+4 logical)

If you take the benchmark score, it is still almost 2x quicker ;)
As said before, the gap between the 740M and 750M is not that big.
I have a 620M, and everything is running @Max settings on GPB, even on 2560x1880 ^^

If you want to have a real performance boost, an SSD would be a wise investment.
It is really much quicker as a standard HDD and everything feels more snappy.
You can buy an aftermarket and put it in your computer as it is less expansive than fitting an OEM one.

Ok. I will think about it and sleep a night before i take my order.

I have an SSD in my desktop and i really love it....damn fast like you said  ;)

Sounds wise  :D

The only drawback of the i7 is its power consumption (47W vs 37W for the i5).
It may impact a bit the battery life ;)
