Hi,
To those who use 3ds max 2010 64 bit:
I've passed many hours to find the problem i going to tell you, so if it can help someone it will be nice.
I'm making a new track from scratch.
I create the road and would apply a texture on.
So, i select the polygons i need, apply a texture map, select the edge all along the side and create a form from it.
Then, i apply an uvw unwrap to my selected polygons and choose the form (created from edges) to apply to the right curved texture to my road.
Now the problem happens because there appears strange things, the texture is completely wrong applied.
To solve the problem I use the 32 bits version and all is fine now.

I'm making a couple of short tracks from scratch and I had the same problem in 2015 x64 version. I solved clicking MAX button > New > New All and start again. I don't know what was the problem. The edges seemed like a straight line shape in the unwrap tool edit window.

Reset xForm? Or what if create box and attach your model to it? The goal is to reset all modifications and pivot point.

That happens even i create a new road in a new project even reset all parameters and gizmo. No solution than return to 32bits.
I read so many forum to not find any solution.

Reset UVW?
Apply any UVmapping, Planar for example, and then apply your mapping?

I squeezed my brain last day tweaking all UV system with no luck. Unfortunately the solution one was starting again in my case.
