Fuck fuck fuck.... Sorry... I cant find another words. Good that we have limitless GP Bikes.

what about WSBK liscence ? who own it ?

Very disappointing decision! >:( :( :( :'(

Unless Milestone really start to take simulation seriously then this decision will mean that eSport motorcycle racing will unfortunately remain and get established on a simcade platform rather than a true simulation event...... Very disappointing indeed, especially as eSport car racing has gone down a different direction, and I would say the correct route, of using arguably the best car racing simulator on the market with Rfactor 2.

Seems Dorna have been persuaded to go with the masses rather than wanting and promoting realistic motorcycle simulation racing events...... If Milestone don't do a 180 deg turn and start producing realistic physics for MotoGP then I guarantee this decision will destroy motorcycle eSport(after the initial honeymoon participation period) because it's so obvious to anyone spectating a Milestone MotoGP event that it's no where near realistic. VERY disappointing, but just what I was warning and talking about when Dorna first announced an eSport championship by backing Milestone MotoGP as it's eSport foundation.

Seems to me that DORNA have been conned into signing a long term contract with Milestone on a wish and a prayer that Milestone will now develop MotoGP further(HELLO! Just look at their record! Lol!)...... But let's wait and see what they can come up with in the next 1-2 years.... But as of right now I'm feeling this decision on Dorna's part is: A BIG MISTAKE! No vision and no balls whatsoever! A PATHETIC AND A VERY LAME DECISION BY DORNA!!! >:( >:(

Maybe they just don't know any bike simulation , no ?

I think most of you do not realize, as you have not spoken to Dorna, that they are not only having to work with Milestone BUT also other major manufacturers for the eSports events.

I spoke with them directly at this years British MotoGP as many of you know and have first hand knowledge as to what Dorna wants and what they are bound by.

Dorna made contracts with Sony to hold eSports on the bloody Playstation and this was their biggest mistake as they are now bound by that and therefore have to have a game that works on PS4. Dorna has seen and liked GPBikes and I had a long discussion about it with them. They what to go full sim on PC, BUT are locked in with Sony for stupid console users, which is business wise for them as it is a massive community of players.

I am still in negotiation with them about the whole eSports thing. This could be a killer for me if I cant get a licence from Sony to make my systems work on PS3/4!!!

One thing that has been forgotten is that Dorna, can still  do other projects that could well use a sim like GPBikes.

Very well said Hawk. First of all I think that Dorna made their decision based on experience. Currently there arent many developers that might be interested in making MotoGP game. Milestone seems to be the obly option. GP Bikes is still in beta and they even didnt have occasion to see it in action. Unfortunately it shows that our petition to Dorna about taking out lcence from Miletone was ignored and the communjty voice is not important ☹️ Unreal Engine is not an engine for realistic games and I am sure that using it Milestone will never make a product that might be close to reality. Id rather say they will make a game similar to MX GP. At least I see that year by year the number of bugs is lower and lower. Lets see wbat they will make with Unreal Engine. Despite its arcade nature it seems to be better than their own engine. Anyway I dont care much anymore. I just keep fingers crossed for faster GP Bikes development.

Thank you DD for clarifying the situation. I hope the doors for GPBikes are still opened and we will get what we want eventually.

Part of my discussion with Jorge from Dorna was about them whating to go to full simulation like F1 for riders!! This is nothing to do with eSports, Milestone or Sony. They WANT to go to real simulation and were impressed with the versatility of GPBikes. Matty got to do a short demo using body tracking in GPB with the EdTracker, something that I do not think Milestone will ever get to if they do not get up to date on controller input and adjustability, same goes for control of the bike etc etc

In reality, bike gaming as a whole is still new for so many different reasons and has a long way to go to get to the car sim quality there is today.

No matter what, I will keep on pushing GPB at Dorna and other businesses such as Holovis that I am in contact with. There are things I can not talk about at present, but hopefully in the new year after my meeting with Holovis I can explain more. This is to do with GPBikes as well as my systems and it could be a biggy lol.

The future of GPBikes could be good, but it needs to be developed to a state it is stable to be of use in the sim racing world.

There is one point being overlooked all the time here:
PIbosos interest in being part of it.

Gren from Holovis is very interested in GPBikes as they are VR specialists, he is concerned on the development of GPB though and we will be talking more in the near future before Mike and I go up to Coventry for a demonstration and to talk about their full motion systems.

Well.... All I can say DD, is that appealing to the mass market from the console community using Milestones MotoGP may on the surface seem to be the way to go for Dorna to get a mass appeal for eSports, but they are forgetting one very important key if eSport is going to become a long standing success, and that is the audience that eSport will need to appeal to for following and supporting eSports; Milestones MotoGP soon becomes very boring to watch simply because it soon becomes apparent that it's physics are nowhere near realistic and therefore all those realistic subtle movements, twists, slides and wobbles that you get from the real-life bikes just isn't there, plus the crazy easy get-outs from incidents that would have real riders sliding down the road on their arses! Lol. The audience will soon see through it all and realise that their is no real skills to hold any respect for the riders in these Milestone MotoGP eSport races at all and will soon start to get very bored watching and just start to turn off.... Then that will be it for motorcycle eSports, because like the old saying goes, "Once bitten twice shy", so even if they revamped motorcycle eSport to try again from a fresh start there would be many people who would remember the rubbish they did previously and just not bother again.

I personally think that Dorna having now signed a 4 year contract with Milestone, obviously aimed at the crappy console market, have just put the nail in the coffin of Motorcycle eSport events for the foreseeable future. I predict that it will appear to be successful for the first year, maybe two years at most, and then die a dramatic death.... Unfortunately Dorna will still be tied to the Milestone contract so won't be able to do anything about it...... Very sad! >:(

If Dorna were sensible then they'd have made sure they only signed for a maximum of a year contract at a time to give themselves room to manoeuvre should they want to quickly take motorcycle eSport in a different direction. I can only hope Dorna have a get-out clause should they feel eSport needs to try something different than Milestones so far very poor efforts at Motorcycle Simulation?

Sad to say Nick, and Piboso please correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I don't see any evidence that Piboso is even the slightest bit interested in gaining a foothold in eSports with GPBikes. The development cycle for GPBikes would have to vastly increase if he wants to catch the train before it leaves him behind, that's for sure. :o

A road map of Piboso's vision for GPBikes would be useful in keeping the GPBike community aware of the future outlook for GPBikes. :)

you seem a very passionate fan of realism, it's nice but.. man, Milestone's community is big, many of guys are satisfied with the quality as it is and they don't care about our 'crazy wanker's overhardcore true simulator'. i had a lot of tries to promote MX Bikes and GP Bikes among even competitive 'milestoners' (both, MX and road racers), they do not care much about accurate physics where you need to learn a lot and think a lot about how to learn, some of them even ignore MXvsATV series which are not so poor in terms of physics and tracks choice. I even gave my serial keys to some of them. they do not want this. most of them are average gamers, they are able to get fun of any stupid shit and don't wanna work hard in a game.

i don't think so. many enjoy because they used to play it, for them it's kinda skill.

Pibs created the topic with first news about eSport event on MotoGP 2017. Interest is obviously present. I think devs work how they are able to work, there is no need for words like 'if someone does that... he would do this'
