whats the best controller to use

i currently have an xbox 1 controller - is there a better controller or is the xbox 1 controller fine ... my lap times are about 5 seconds off cant seem to go faster done many laps.. will a different controller help

From my testing, no a different controller wont help.

Just practice, and learn the setups for the bikes.
That's all really.
You can't 'speed up' gaining speed.
