Remembered i had one of those old 3 legged massagers lying around, its only powered by 3 AAA batteries so i'm guessing the vibration motor is the same low powered one as the ones found in rumble controllers.

Quite surprised that placing it against the yoke of my bar controller produces levels of vibration at the grips that would certainly be a good indication of engine rpm as discussed in the throttle intensity thread. The simple eccentric mass method should in this application be a reasonable approximation of vibration generated by rotating engine components with respect to amplitudes relative to rotational frequency - fixed mass variable frequency.

This could be an interesting mod for the feedback channels of standard pads if you could send rpm as the FF signal and certainly seems like a simple mod for custom controllers.

I was thinking i would need a fairly powerful motor and large eccentric weight but i think i may be overestimating the forces required (by about a factor of 10  ::).
