Just saw it (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4044364/), what's described is pretty scary.
I know it's old news but seeing it told by the ones that were really involved (Snowden, the director and 2 journalists) really gives it a definite extra chilling power.

Side note: I've been thinking for years that the US are essentially a country gone bad (personal opinion, I understand many will disagree), so I had no big surprise there.
But the surprise (sort of) is that the UK is really really following suite there, even taking the lead in some aspects. If you are in the UK, you definitely want to have a look (unless you're already up to date with the details of the story). Serious stuff going on, very.

No offence HornetMax but you're incredibly naive..

This "stuff" as you call it has been going on for hundreds of years. Since the Napoleonic wars and before..

The U.S. has been a vassal state since the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.

The United Kingdom for even longer..

The evidence is all around you in plain sight if you just take the trouble to research things, follow a few obvious leads, awaken a little and open your eyes. It's not that complicated to join the dots..

Here's a few obvious clues:

Khazarian Rothschild Mafia

Central Banks

The International (at least Western) financial system and who "owns" & controls it..

More recent clues: The Oded Yinon Plan. PNAC.. currency wars. petrodollar recycling. fractional reserve banking. debt based economies. BRICS. False flag terrorist attacks past and present. NWO. Islamophobia. 9/11. Operation Gladio. The End of Days..

All you have to do is join the dots..

Why do you think Iraq and Libya were "taken out"? Why are they now attempting regime change in Syria? Why is Iran next on the list?

Google: "General Sir Wesley Clark 7 countries in 5 years"..

Question: Why do people pay any attention to the mainstream media? Beats me. ;)

Just happened to pop in to see what was going on with the latest beta release. Read your post..

Remember: he (or they) who hold the purse strings of the international financial system hold the true power in this world.

Think I'm mad. Think again.

Bye for now.

Uh, the movie deals with something much more precise than a global conspiracy and in some sense way more fundamental.
Still, many seems to be ready to accept that sort of regression in civil and human rights.
Ironically, the quote that better describes what's in the movie comes from an american: "Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one." (Benjamin Franklin)

P.S.
Joining a sufficient number of random dots will lead to any drawing you want. You sound like one of the main characters in Focault's pendulum ...

Hmmm its human nature to want to believe in conspiracies but generally you need to keep your feet on the floor and your head out of the clouds, otherwise people think you are a bit weak-minded rather than open-minded.

Anyway, I live in the UK and nothing bothers me, I have a tin foil hat and I'm happy just waiting for the first Moon landing :-X

Well you "sleep" on HornetMax..

Prominent ex establishment figures are now speaking out.. If you care but to look and listen.

Power through usury.

These are not random dots..

Figures such as Dr Paul Craig Roberts are not dreaming.

What does someone have to do? Shake you? Cognitive dissonance is an understandable symptom under the circumstances..  ;) But let's face it the establishment's explanations for what is happening in the modern world are beyond ridiculous. The frustrating thing being that the average person tends to unquestioningly believe them..

Tend to agree.

Of course it's not a secret. It's not a conspiracy theory either. It's straightforward reality.

Now Mr HornetMax all you have to do is start joining some of those dots..

I haven't watched the movie yet. But a comment on the subject.
When a conspiracy is so big it becomes "a conspiracy theory" it's good to nurse it, blow it up untill it's so big that anyone determined enough (you could use words like crazy, brave, stubborn too) to expose it gets ridiculed.  ;)

For example take that guy that belives Earth is ruled by reptile aliens. Thats way too much for me to belive, and there's a certain posibility I am wrong. So that clame makes my mind dismiss all other theories that guy makes. No matter how plausible they seem. And some of them are.

I guess that's just the way our mind works.

The conspiracy theory is in the putting of disparate things all together and self-convincing yourself about a master plot.

I'll happily leave that to you. I've learned that it's all too easy to show that 2+2 makes 3.14, if one wants to get 3.14.

The movie is not about conspiracy or rambling theories, it's much more concrete and hence credible.

It looks like some people are so intent thinking about the big conspiracy that they forget the very concrete measures that are being put in place by some governments, most of the time with landslide approval from the very people that keep on screaming "conspiracy !".

Is anyone else getting this....

I'm thinking the Internet-cat infestation was actually driven by the government for sensation monitoring?

I like to think I am intelligent enough to do serious conversation but mostly it chooses not to.

Actually Bozo when you look into the (true) reason some people are unable to react quickly in urgent or emergency situations, humans are indeed controlled by 'aliens'. Whether that bug that apparently a massive 1 in 4 Americans have (the only place surveyed so far)   is reptilian I'm not so sure ....but the theory is sound. Toxoplasma Gondii is its name.

Edit:  OH oh oh I forgot to mention this bug is produced from a CATs guts originally.  More dots to join I think!

Well a predictable response if nothing else..

"Conspiracies are real. There are many more of them than people are aware. Many government conspiracies are heavily documented by governments themselves with the official records demonstrating the conspiracies openly available to the public. Just google, for example, Operation Gladio or the Northwoods Project. These conspiracies alone are sufficient to chastise those uninformed Western peoples who go around saying, "our government would never kill its own people."

Perhaps Russian studies provided my introduction to government conspiracies against their own people. I learned that the Tsar's secret police set off bombs and killed people in order to blame and arrest labor agitators. I was skeptical of this account and wondered if it was a reflection of left-wing bias against Tsarist Russia. Some years later I asked my colleague, Robert Conquest, at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University if the account was true. He replied that the story is true as is known from the released secret police files that are part of the Hoover Institution's archives.

False flag attacks are used by governments in order to pursue secret agendas that they cannot publicly acknowledge. If President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney had said: "We are going to attack Iraq and a half dozen other countries in order to exercise hegemony over the Middle East, steal their oil, and clear the path for Israel to steal the entirety of the West Bank of Palestine, diverting taxpayers' resources from serving the American people into the pockets of the armaments industries and spilling the blood of your parents, spouses, children, and siblings, even the American sheeple would have resisted."

- Dr Paul Craig Roberts

http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2016/02/02/there-is-no-freedom-without-truth-paul-craig-roberts/

(Dr. Paul Craig Roberts was Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury for Economic Policy and associate editor of the Wall Street Journal. He was columnist for Business Week, Scripps Howard News Service, and Creators Syndicate.)

Of course with a background like that Dr Paul Craig Roberts is tantamount to being little more than a tree-hugging, tin-foil hat wearing, slightly unhinged internet conspiracy theorist..little more than your average "nut".

It never ceases to amaze me just how "asleep" most people are if I'm honest..just look at people's adherence to the official narrative of 9/11 for evidence of that fact.

The sentence that starts with "If President George W. Bush" is incomplete (no "then" part), but it's surely good enough for some top get started. Symptomatic, I'd say.

But feel free to open a new topic with all the details of your theories. This one is about very precise, concrete and documented facts, without the side blabbing about worldwide schemes.

doubledragoncc

You guys only think you know the half of it.

I spent 2 very uncomfortable months in a terrorist and immigration detention center in the swamps of Miami  just over a passport that I could not get replaced as I used had before, due to Obama and the UK prime monster making new laws and not bothering to inform the public, so I ended up with sub-machine guns in my face at my local bar and treated like a fucking terrorist for 2 month, then they took every possession I had apart from one bag I had on me, my laptop bag thank god. After 2 months in a place where nobody spoke English (remember I was in the USA!!!) and then deported back to UK where I was not allowed to work even though I was born in London, worked for the UK police/ambulance services etc, etc,................I was not even permitted to sleep in a homeless shelter and had to live on the streets for 2 months until I got legal help about it. Im a fuckin Brit for Christ sake, not a terrorist but thats how I spent 4 months in 2014. I fully understand protecting your country, but it should not give you the right to destroy peoples lives. I have properties in the USA I can not use, rent or sell, BUT I have to pay property tax and even though I am now in UK the USA can garnish my wages and take my money while I get deeper in dept as I can do nothing with my properties as I am not on USA soil!!! WHAT has that to do with protecting the USA??? I found out a lot about where I was detained, I is a PRIVATELY own business!!! The WHOLE detention center!!! They get paid $250.00 a day per inmate by guess who, US Government!!! Nice bit of chunk change they were making for PROTECTING the USA.

My point here is, the governments are spending time and money in the wrong places for the wrong reasons. They thrive on war, they need war to give them an excuse to spend money on arms to DEFEND their countries from terrorists etc, etc, BUT they are the ones making the terror.  Now we have Cyberwar to go with the physical wars, and who is responsible for most of it? Yeah right Joe Public it aint. Where do you think most viruses come from? Who NEEDS to sell anti-virus software to protect us all? Who has direct contact to Microsoft/Apple data where weaknesses can be found? Norton, McAfee etc, etc.............Think about it and thats the non government end of it.

Conspiracies are real is an understatement, in our modern society we live under a wave of conspiracies every day. Citizen Four is the tip of the iceberg. I have lived around the world and seen and been through some corrupt government institutional bullshit.

I know this is not directly to do with Citizen Four but it is part of it and one much closer to us all. It affects our everyday living.

Heres a simple example of what all the conspiracy is doing to us. When I was living in Australia I decided to fly to Auckland, New Zealand for the day as a birthday treat to myself. I spent over 8 hours in a detention room while they checked the details of my hotel, possible contacts etc, etc as they would not believe I was just going to spend one evening in Auckland for my birthday!!!! WHY, well they insisted I was meeting someone to pick something up to smuggle out of New Zealand the next day. WTF!!!! It was my fuckin birthday!!! All this happened because of conspiracy.

If this, and more has happened, can happen to one person on a normal living level, WTF is going on higher up???

BTW if you wish to question my character as to why this sort of thing happened to me, I think grimm and cdx here will vouch for me. I just want to design shit and make people happy, but I guess some must think thats a bad thing lol.

Well I off to plot taking over the moon or some other planet. Its gotta be easier than trying to build a motorcycle controller lol

DD, I feel for you: I had a similar experience with the US (and the, oh-so-funny guys of US immigration). I'm still forbidden to "enter the US soil" (except for business purposes). Not that I want to anyway.
The reasons is that I went a bit too often (according to them) in the US without a visa (flying business class and staying is 150$/nigh residences 17 years ago, you do the change), under the visa waiver program. So they made all this mess for a 50$ visa (at the time) that my company was more than willing to pay ten-fold (actually I kind of paid it ten fold, as the US imm did not bother to inform me of my new status, so once I had to go to the US again, invited by a US based company and i had to shed out 400$ on the spot, for a "once in a lifetime unforeseen visa"). And that was before 9/11.

But all that happened to you, me and plenty of others is plain stupidity, nothing to do with world-scale conspiracy. What has fractional banking (as stupid one may think it is) to do with that ?! It's not joining the dots, it's building the image of satan (or Steve Jobs) from the stars in the sky and say "You see ? I told you !".

girlracerTracey

Well look..I've been outspoken. Really just to get people thinking..

I'll leave this subject alone now. I agree with DD though..there's nothing wrong with the film in question. However, this sort of film merely scratches the surface of what I consider to be the truth..
