Just tried to connect with your server and all I keep getting is a "Connection Timeout" error

This is my dedicated server. It's weird because 2 hours ago we played with 6. Now 1/2 guys have the connection timeout problem... If my server doesn't work I'll use Dibu's server to host the race ;)

For sure something is not working right.... Let us know when you have it sorted or if we can help?

I just don't understand that some guys can join but others can't...

It would be nice to have a clear thread about a dedicated server. With FAQ... Because the commando's don't always work; some guys can join, others not; does it matter which port I'm using? Port forwarding...

dibu

Your server doesn't show a ping. This means only people who opened UDP port 10500+10510 at their own router can connect - all others get timeout.

Use portforwarding at your router.
Incoming UDP port 20510 -> UDP 20510 to 192.168.0.184

192.168.0.184 = the PC you use as Server
UDP 20510 = the port were you run your dedicated server.
Bandwidth setting =2 is ok for your line

Thank you. Those are my settings now:

Do I need to activate my DMZ address with 192.168.0.184?
Can you check if my server shows a ping now?

I use this to start my server:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\GP Bikes\core.exe"  -dedicated 20510 -set params practice.ini

dibu

No it still doesn't show a ping.

DMZ is not necessary if portforwarding works proper.  But I've seen enough routers from providers which block despite the settings seem to be ok in the menus.

Did you open your windows firewall for core.exe in both directions?

malve

Same here, cant get a Ping but Server is listed.

The Days before i had no Trouble to connect.

As Peter already told you, now it works.
You can enable your firewall again if you create an incoming rule (allow) for core.exe in advanced settings of the windows firewall.

So close dibu's red bull rookies race server? I can always start it again tomorrow if needed.
