You might want to check out forums like these:

Already joined this forum many months ago and contacted several guys on there.... not heard back from any, bar one, who promised to send me details of the Yamaha YZR 500cc bike, but despite contacting him several times since, he has still not fulfilled his intention.

These look like interesting leads that I will follow up and see if anyone there can point me in the right directions....

Thanks vin97.... If you find anything else then post here or PM me and I'll follow them up.

Thanks again mate! ;D 8)

QuoteI agree with almost everything you said in your previous post C21..... But I'd qualify the above statement by saying that most modern bike data maybe relatively easy to find on the internet, but have you ever tried finding a dyno chart or frame geometry data for a bike like the 1982 YZR OW60 Yamaha 500cc GP bike? Or any of the other so called classic 500cc GP Bikes?
Correct  ;)
It´s hard to find data about the classic ones...

There are also a couple of german forums you could check out:

Getting data for the old RG 500 square four should be easy because tuned Gamma engines are almost identical to the actual GP ones.

lorenzods

congratulations, this is the most detailed bike that I have found so far

Great bike! Very nice thankyou JC!

NSR feels different to the cagiva (varese) I think!

Seems to have more grip?

Ps. Could somebody create a loris capirossi painjob? The black pons west team colours?

I was going to make the West paint after I finished the Furtuna skin :D Maybe tomorrow :D

Placebo effect of riding an Honda. Physics is the same.

Great job so far Arvoss!  :)

I don´t feel any difference to the Cagiva.

Thanks vin97..... Language barrier could be a prob, but I'll have a look at these. Hopefully some will speak English. :)

It's not hard to find people who own these bikes, it's the data(Engine dyno charts and bike geometry) required to do a genuine physics file that is the problem, but these forum leads will help greatly in finding someone who either has the data, or can provide a contact to someone who has the data.

Keep them coming mate....Thanks again Vin.  ;D

Vini

Yes, most of them speak english :D

The YZR will probably the hardest one to find any data.
But I know that a few of them have access to production racers.
Especially the guy named teamheronsuzuki has a lot of contacts.

Franco from Maranello Engineering might also have a few dyno charts for the RG 500.

Thank you again, Vin..... I will contact Franco and see if he can help us.  ;D

Great job! Loads of fun!

Personally, I find the clutch a bit too slippery, but I never ridden a NSR 500 so I wouldn't know... :)

Vini

After doing a few laps on Jerez today, I noticed that the 500 simply has not enough grip.
I know it's 1995 tyre technology but how about a 2002 version of the NSR with the same physics except a greater maximum lean angle?
