Hi guys.
Lost my brilliant YouTube video downloader/converter because of the ransom virus hit that I had and I cannot remember what it was named....... So I'm just wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction for a great free Youtube video downloader/converter?
Thanks. ;)
Hawk.
I always use http://keepvid.com/ (http://keepvid.com/) to download audio and/or video from youtube :)
i use VDownloader 8)
keepvid.com for the occasional need.
If you download often, video DownloadHelper for Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/ (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/)) works very well.
I only use it as downloader, if I need converting I use handbrake.
MaX.
Thanks for the advice guys. ;D 8)
If anyone else has any other suggestions keep them coming.....
All suggestions so far greatly appreciated! 8)

I've always used DVD soft but reacently malwarebyte has flaged it a couple of times
http://www.clipconverter.cc/
That's the only one I've used, and only a few times but it seems good.

Nice one, especially that you can enter a start and end point for recording.

Handbrake looks like a very nice piece of kit for conversion work Max! Nice one. ;)
Can you use
Handbrake to tie two part videos together to create one whole video out of the two parts?

Yep, it's little beauty (and it's free and ad-free).

Don't think so. But you can find plenty of tiny tools to do that. Google "mkv join" or something similar.
If you want to go full blown, you may try avidemux: but the nterface is fugly.
