I think I did the embed thing wrong. I dunno about computers at all, surprised I can manage to even get GP Bikes to play (and work with add on bikes and tracks). If it wasn't for the tutorials all over the place I would have given up long ago. Dunno how so many of you have this sort of technology come naturally to you. So basically my apologies if the video embed doesn't work. If so, here is the simply copied and pasted link to the video.

*Edit*

Seems there is step by step direction for everything, including how to embed a youtube video on a Simple Machines forum! :D

What track is this is 2:00 ??

Thanks

All I can say is.. Do lots and lots of laps, its the only way to improve!

Over a lap just piece it all together. If you struggle with a corner keep trying different lines, entry angle, speed, lean angle etc etc

Do that for every sector and then piece it all together.. I wrote a setup for hockenhein on the ''WSS 600 Bikeset'' thread! Keep in mind what works for me might not work for you! Vice versa..

For the hairpin at hockenheim.. I try to head straight for the curb on the brakes, keep it tight, turn and fire it out.. Get the bike turned and upright as quickly as possible! If you take a sweeping line the bike is on its side for longer and will probably drop.. Hope that helps  ;)

Avus I believe. Spent a bit of time there playing around with setup since it's got some nice bumps and chicanes to test out on.

Awesome , thanks guys,

I am quick ( not fast lol ) with the gp1000 bikes , but I guess anyone can be. I have noticed more on the correct entry of the corner the bike holds perfect, so I will play around with lines.

What controller are you using?

Thanks for the track info.

Sorry to get offtopic of media, so I'll post another vid with this reply. :)

I started out with a XBOX 360 controller, tried out a XBOX One controller, and ended up back with the 360 pad in the long run. The One was better in many ways, but the wired 360 just "does it for me" in a way. I guess it's years of GP Bikes with the same controller that forces the desire to stick with what I know. BTW, I'm never online because I am slow, crash alot, and just play for the fun of the physics. Too much injury for me to ride regularly so I tend to keep on the sims more than a real bike. :)

Also, some of that video is Klax's settings of DST w/ torque, some of it is standard handling, can't really remember what was what as the compilation was recorded over a month or so of time and I bounce back and forth quite a bit. Some of the bigger wobbles and wheelies were DST though, I find the bike behaves far more realistic under those conditions.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain !!

See you on the track someday Im sure!!

Do you buy a wired xbox 360 controller and format it or is there a pc version?

Thanks

No problem.  8)

I had the wired 360 controller for doing paint work on Forza4 on the XBOX 360 (Fanatec CSR Elite for gameplay), plugged it into the computer USB port and used the controller plugin from the subforum here to be able to use both triggers at one time allowing me to drag the rear brake on the long wheelies at balance point, as well as "12 'oclock" the bike too, a worn rear tire allows some looooong smokey burnouts dragging front brake. The in game GP Bikes controller formatting works very well and is quite effective in getting dead zones and axis control rate dialed in to a point you feel at home with sticks and triggers instead of a twist grip and levers. :D

r1rossi

Thats great info . I will search for that subforum for the formatting and go get me a wired xbox360 controller !! I am looking forward to that.

Xbox360 controller feels like home to me.

Thanks again!

Been wanting to put in a request for a stretched version of the 990 to experiment with, finally just took the time to figure out how to do it myself, no 3D modeling ability, but the programs Piboso released to modify bike values allowed me to finally setup the bike to look kinda funny, but represent a fully stretched and lowered drag bike! Not really many people who care for this sort of thing, but my late father was a drag racer and GP Bikes has always lacked a proper drag bike! So I had to create it for myself... and see just how far it can be pushed!

Actual drag strip footage is next! One XBOX trigger for the throttle, the other for the clutch to get it off the line as fast as possible.  8)
