. He could easily get away with 8Gb yea. 8GB RAM will DEF not be bottlenecking anything. Thats for sure. I agree on warranties on electronics, as I also really prefer to have it, but electronics can last for a very long time with no issues what so ever. If I had a budget, and needed to choose between a GTX 970 and GTX 1050/ti, I would most certainly try get a GTX 970. Why buy an old one when the 1050 is cheap enough and give you the latest chipset and is guaranteed.
So if you're on a budget and are OK to buy a second hand one, it's an excellent deal.
All the chaps that have bought the new 1060/1070 cards are selling the 970 for pocket money.
