@DD
Server stable and low ping of 25 - looking good

No cores to report despite me constantly throwing the bike into the scenery - need to learn this track  :)

doubledragoncc

If you want a particular track to test online anytime just let me know.

I will be making a bike testing server too

DD, how does it look when you turn the bitrate up a bit? Or can your internet connection not handle higher bitrates? If so, could you record a video offline at a higher bitrate and upload it to YouTube?

Anyway, I suspect that you won't get much better image quality from a dedicated capture device, YouTube's encoding settings are the problem.
Watch my Mugello video for comparison. The source video was lossless and it still kind of looks shit in the TV cam.
https://www.youtube.com/v/U-7jxkwy6S4

Of course, the framerate issues should be solved. Just to make sure: It is the framerate dropping and not your internet connection creating lag, right?

Lastly, when buying a capture device, you'd probably want to get one without a hardware encoder (or at least one that can be deactivated/bypassed). That way your choice of codec and settings are completely free and since it will only result in slightly higher CPU load, it should give you the same in-game performance.

Oh and btw, does OBS support H.265/HEVC video codec?

doubledragoncc

Hi Vin

I was only running half the bitrate I can for my internet. I just had it increased and it goes up again in a few month for free so I should have a steady 12-15MB upload speed. Right now it is only 6.2MB. I was trying to see how low I can run it for having bandwidth for the server too.

If I record with OBS, not stream the quality is far better. I will do a video but right now my flat is in bits for new window fitting so things are tight.

OBS has x264 quicksync and NVENC but my GPU can only run the x264 codec.

I have studied and spoken with a lot of people about the Elgato HD60S and it would improve things for quality and allow 60fps instead of 30 for 1080p. It would also free up my GPU a bit for me to ride lol. I like my 120fps in GPB when I can get it online with other riders lol. The HD60S is pure passthrough and USB3 not 2 on the normal HD60.

Dont forget I am on a laptop and certain things can not be done concerning video and audio due to how the motherboards are designed and limited in certain areas.

Vini

ok, h.265 seems not relevant for streaming at the moment anyway.

forget the thing about capture devices with hardware encoders: there is only the blackmagic intensity shuttle with uncompressed capture and it doesn't support 1080p60 so the elgato hd60s is the best choice.

but don't expect the visual image quality to improve (much). you should increase the zoom (decrease field of view) of the TV cams instead. it will improve the image quality a lot.

doubledragoncc

I am not doing a thing with the TV cams that is for the track guys.

I did a 1080p @60fps and one at 30fps with higher bitrate. Bitrate is a funny fooker lol.

i am moving shit about so had no audio setup  lol. Plus just installed newest Nvidea driver that just came out, last 2 were shite!!!

1080p 60fps:

Need to keep playing lol.

Vini

ok, i can do it for you but in the silverstone video you can already see how the quality is better in the "close-ups".
i don't think it gets much better than that on youtube.
only thing you could improve is making the game window bigger :D at least so that there is no empty space.

Napalm Nick

Don't zoom the cameras right in though cos in the stream we need to see the action not one bike!

DD - Can you setup GPBOC4 with MotoGP and Silverstone like GPBOC1 is if possible?  I need to take mine down. It would be helpful to see if it all runs OK on yours or not.  ???

Vini

yeah, right balance is important for races.
for qualy close-ups are fine IMO.

....or piboso gives us a way to keep the cam focussed on multiple bikes as long as they are close enough to each other.
